  1. ‘Look at all the moaners’ stuff... again! Just looks like people dissecting the game like after every match since the forum started. Folk delighted with the win but assessing how we could improve, what’s wrong with that?
  2. If you can get a match ticket for not much more than that game by game, why bother with a half season ticket? Especially if there may be a game or two you can’t make. End of the day if we are up there we may sell a few, mid table and it will be a few hundred like most years. But £230-£250 in the most popular stand, the Jack Walker, for a half season ticket (11 games) is over £22 a game and extrapolates as £500+ for a full season ticket, that’s not ‘cheap’ for second tier football in an area like this, end of.
  3. That’s just for the Riverside. £200 Blackburn End, £230-£250 in the Jack Walker. Not sure it’s great value for 11 games myself, £20-22 a match in the JW, so I doubt they will be flying off the shelves, but value is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.
  4. Swansea have let go a lot of high earners, so a long term re-build makes sense. However West Brom have a big wage bill and an obvious need to get straight back up, it is vital they make the most of the parachute money. Appointing a novice was therefore very unwise in my view. Parallels with ourselves in 2012, their fans will hope they don’t appoint four inexperienced Championship managers in a row though!
  5. I took it that as a playful little dig at our Vinners?
  6. If I was in the pub folk would be going: ‘shite that, didn’t get forward enough etc etc... but glad for the win’ Mowbray slaughtered the game, Said it was ‘horrible, ugly’, that he was ‘disappointed with the performance, but glad to put the points in the bag’. Just like on here then! So I’ve no idea why people are trying to constantly derail threads with this ‘sooo negative on here’ crap, but it’s getting extremely tiresome.
  7. The ref didn’t help, whistle was never out of his mouth and he dished out 8 yellow cards though there was hardly a bad tackle.
  8. Yes, very odd. Of course you compare yourselves to the other teams in the league - it’s the competition! But ok, put it another way, I would have much preferred the money to be spent on more established players, we aren’t a million miles from a top 6 team, that money could have got us there. Hope you’re right on the other points.
  9. Who else in the Championship are buying raw 19 year olds for £7million? Other clubs would be buying finished articles at that price (or a couple), players that could very well fire a team knocking on the door of the top 6 to promotion. I’m all for the young English talent approach. Rothwell, Armstrong et al coupled with a good number of Academy lads in the team is working well. But this one is a very odd deal.
  10. But if it’s ‘touch and go with work’ how can he buy in advance (and avoid the penalty charge)?
  11. Mods... assemble!
  12. Pub at 2pm... ’what you think of the team Unsall?’ ’No comment. I trust in Mowbray’. ’oh...’
  13. Ok wrong word. However for a half season ticket to cost £18-22 a match? You can get match tickets for not much more. Considering I paid £15 a match for mine. This is a chance to get folk back!
  14. There’s a difference between trusting the manager/being delighted with the job he’s doing and questioning individual decisions.
  15. Name names, who doesn’t trust Mowbray?
  16. Half season tickets now on sale, 11 games kicking in on New Years Day. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/november/half-season-tickets-on-sale-now/ Working out at £20-£22 a game in the JW Upper, £18 a game in the Blackburn End and JW lower. Seems steep to me? As that would extrapolate to a £506 JW upper season ticket and a £414 Blackburn End.
  17. I would assume this is a political move to spook UEFA into giving even more Champions League dosh to the elite clubs.
  18. Do you know him? How would you possibly know that?
  19. Ah I see, so it’s just your opinion Phil. Fair enough, I don’t think you are a million miles away personally, obviously a model the owners have bought into, as this summer’s incomings have shown, but by the same token couldn’t the £7 million have been spread around on a few Armstrongs?
  20. Trouble at t’turf... https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/sean-dyche-hunts-for-burnley-mole-after-media-leaks-v3zm83c3b
  21. Not a maths teacher I take it Bizzle?
  22. To me, as much as anything he seems short on fitness and confidence. So, considering he didn’t play a minute at West Brom and the U23s played on Monday, therefore giving ample rest till tomorrow, why wasn’t he involved with them?
  23. If that’s the case, he’ll be an excellent appointment for someone.
  24. Again, it’s a message board, it’s people’s opinions. Support is what he needs at the matches - he’s getting it thus far. Now, if in a few weeks the ironic cheers etc. start, then you’d have a point.
  25. Here hoping! I think last season helped as decent prices, loads of local games and new grounds (plus winning every week!) reawakened a long dormant away support who got the travel bug again.
