  1. No biased views here... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/rodwell.1447873/
  2. They did do, Rovers very important to them these days, possibly because the other two have gone in totally different directions from them. Their forums are full of ‘inbreds’, ‘Dingles’, ‘HATE those Bastards’ etc.
  3. There’s a difference between a metropolitan/ ceremonial county - Greater Manchester being one and the historical counties like the Lancashire county Palatine that covers the land from the Furness to the River Mersey that still exist. Just surprises me that so many Lancastrians want to do down and reduce their historical county with a thousand years of civic pride and history. Perhaps just ignorance. I’m hopeful that one day its boundaries will be properly restored - like the East Riding of Yorkshire was when ‘Humberside’ was abolished. www.forl.co.uk
  4. It’s this place, I can assure you most fans realise it’s all about winning matches.
  5. Shame you’ve no pride in our ancient county Scotland1 (assuming you have some link to Lancashire) going back nearly a 1,000 years until some bureaucrat in the 1970s in London decided to alter the boundaries. I’ve no particular interest in Bolton, but considering it’s next to Darwen, it is by definition, a local derby, end of.
  6. Are some people on this thread for real? ’Embarrassed to win’, ‘the owners should pull Mowbray in’ etc. Us and every other club have ground out scrappy away wins since time immemorial, one of football’s constants. It was a poor second half, something the manager himself recognised, but our newly promoted side won the game and go into the break outside the play offs on goal difference. Lot to work on, but Christ let’s enjoy it!
  7. 13,200 (officially), but I’ve noticed the papers have printed the Forest crowd figure again in error.
  8. ‘Need help filling your ground?’ They are still advertising tickets for their game on Saturday... ?‍♂️
  9. 7 million quid is serious money for 2018 Blackburn Rovers. For me, that should have been spent on two ready made Championship level pros. However, the new Venky model seemingly resolves around buying young English talent that can be improved and flipped for profit. No problem with that, at least we now have a plan, Armstrong at 1.7m is a good example of it. The issue is would the money have been available for 28 year old experienced pros? I personally doubt it, so it is what it is, it just seems very big money for a middling Championship club to outlay on such a raw lad.
  10. I await the ex DEnders to post that we are trying to ‘divide the fan base’, but I assume those entering the DEnd last season were searched, so they’ve just moved the practice over.
  11. Who’s asking for a change of manager? A fewfull time trolls on social media? We were actually clapped off last night (not exactly an ovation, but stil) after a comprehensive home defeat. Couldn’t tell you last time I heard such a thing. The bloke has unwavering support in the fan base.
  12. Does turnstyle L take you to the Darwen End side of the JW lower? If so, I would imagine we can work out why...
  13. Will they not be the parents of some of the kids that were flag waving and them walking round the pitch at half time? Generally speaking I imagine any big group in the family stand that suddenly appear are freebies. Havent heard about the lapsed ST thing, but at least it’s trying something.
  14. Leeds allocation up to 7,650. Classy stuff from their official twitter page. The only club in one of the country’s biggest cities and before this season a standard crowd was 26 of so thousand, so nowhere near filling their own ground. MASSIVE ay.
  15. Good following considering it’s a red button night match. It is what it is but it just proves we were correct in the summer when we called out Waggott’s daft lie about ‘not wanting to inconvenience Rovers fans in the Darwen End by moving them constantly for big followings’. They’d have needed to be moved once in all likelyhood - Leeds (and we didn’t even give them the full allocation, a full 1000 short, in fact).
  16. Miles away from Lancashire and London/south east, so won’t be attracting our expats from that neck of the woods that make up a lot of our support at southern away days. Be amazed if we took 200.
  17. Local lad too, may possibly depend on if he thinks Brentford can last the course...
  18. Embedding some tweets into an article is sports journalism these days?
  19. Obviously not, but we can’t see the ones it does, can we!
  20. You collect pre bought tickets at the kiosks at the side of the club shop. But there’s always still plenty actually buying tickets at the old ticket office under the canopy in the run up to KO.
  21. I am saying they are coming as kids but stop when they reach adulthood. Speculation on my account, but I bet we all anecdotallly know such young fans. More and more clubs are offering deals for young adults - indeed we used to. And as for ‘levels they are accustomed to’, we been a lower league and relegation threatened PL club for nearly a decade, good memories these teenagers!
  22. More students in Nottingham so we shouldn’t bother? I would wager we lose a hell of a lot of teenage fans when they reach adult prices and the parents stop buying their ticket. A bridge between child and adult season ticket prices would be eminently sensible and much better than an empty seat, no? Also, there were 2,700 walk ons on Saturday, take out freebies and concesssions and it will work out nowhere near £30pp.
  23. To answer Paul. Is £31 for a ticket on the day in the Jack Walker viable in an area like ours? A middle ground, surely?
  24. £20 every game.
  25. It’s what West Brom are charging in the Championship this season.
