  1. Goes down to a loyalty point level that will cover all ST holders (I think) tomorrow.
  2. Who doesn’t want ‘attacking football’, but if your players won’t win enough games playing that way then you have to find another.
  3. Used to do that, certainly recall the Dunn hattrick of penalties game being part of the season ticket.
  4. I wouldn’t use Chelsea as any kind of yardstick, total basket case. I’d imagine they’ve had plenty of offers (from companies quite a distance from the King’s Road too), why wouldn’t they, but that regime is the kind of one that will barter with a firm over a few hundred grand for a shirt sponsor after shelling out a billion on attacking midfielders.
  5. Hmmm, wonder what part of this never ending farce Jack would have wanted for his beloved club, that was transformed under his stewardship, any clues, anyone? Problem with Masher is that as he looks for a contrary angle on every post (however you get your kicks, ay) he makes himself look very silly.
  6. Swag deserves, what, praise for getting something, anything on the shirt? Which is usually a firm already in the tent in a radius of five miles from Ewood? My nephew’s under 10s have a shirt sponsor. He deserves nothing unless he’s attracting sponsorship income to that of our peers.
  7. Agree with you there Chadster. Take away parachutes and once again there will be ‘twists and turns’ with everybody else all season (and maybe even the likes of Luton in the pack). All much of a muchness.
  8. *Humble* bragging. I.e just like last time, it will be a weekly routine of ‘we could’ve lost that, but we are doing ok for little owd Burnley’. (with an income dwarfing the vast majority of the league).
  9. ‘Adjourned until [enter date here] 2025’.
  10. Oh it’s the every other season weekly humble bragging by Longers, don’t they come along quick!
  11. Ridsdale calling them a ‘well run club’ the other day… two games, two managers leave.
  12. I know, you’re a big fan (unless it’s on TNT, of course…).
  13. All relative I suppose. If your main term of reference as a Rovers fan is the Venky era (so any fan really in their mid 20s and below) then legend he is.
  14. People still look forward to PL seasons?
  15. Would it be any different on that cesspit if it was any other set of fans? Trolls being trolls.
  16. ‘One more year, Sammie Szmodics’ was being sung.
  17. I didn’t realise the debate had finished, but yes I’ll have the last word - think we now agree that being born in a country doesn’t necessarily make you an Englishman or a German, but you are quite right if you were born here, brought up here and have an English/British nationality, then that’s quite different. Good chat.
  18. I was just noting the inconsistency in case a Klopp got the job. I’m not interested in the slightest on what Carsley sees him himself as, English I imagine, but he fancied playing some international football. But my mate doesn’t want to quality for England as he’s not English, even though he was born here - glad we now agree.
  19. Shifting your argument now Dreams. You didn’t say someone who ‘holds English nationality’, you said born in England and yes you don’t necessarily identify as an ‘Englishman’ and hold English/British nationality just because you are born in England. You or I don’t decide what makes an Englishman. My best mate was born and brought up here from an Irish family, but he’s never had a British passport, only Irish and he’s an Irishman. Really very simple and I’m not sure how it’s ended up as an argument.
  20. No it is interesting, as there are many, many folk that would fundamentally disagree with that statement. And it works the other way too, if you are born elsewhere but later become a citizen of a country, you aren’t ‘really’ American or French or Australian?
  21. So if you are born in England but see yourself as an Irishman or a Scot, you are mistaken, you are an Englishman? Interesting.
  22. You are expected to be on the front foot at home, you need to be able to break teams down that will often sit in, you will need to pick up a substantial number of points at home if you want to have a decent season. So it wasn’t ’ridiculous’ at all to mention the fact he hadn’t won one. Didn’t particularly bother me last season as his short spell to May was purely to keep us up by whatever means, he did. Now he’s won a home game too, so let’s put it to bed.
  23. What would have been 'ridiculous' about commenting on the fact he still hadn't won a home game if still hadn't won a home game, despite being here since February? But he did win it and that's that.
  24. The Riverside will definitely be shut, but let’s hope he bothers with a few cleaners and stewards so the Blackburn End can open.
  25. Brfcs Jury. There’s certainly no jury at Ewood anymore, lovely place to settle in to your job.
