  1. The owners have known for months, Waggott too, that Mowbray wasn't having his contract extending, so in reality its probably taken 5 months not 5 weeks! Flying by the seats of the pants the lot of em.....
  2. He's a better centre half than Grant Hanley was in my opinion and he's managed to ply his trade at the highest level.
  3. I'd have saved money on appointing a new DOF and given that money to the captain of the football club. I don't know of any DOF that have got a club promoted, by I know plenty of captains that have.
  4. The new manager must be chomping at the bit to join us, especially on the back of letting the captain go to a rival club after his best season in a Rovers shirt. Chris Wilder knows a bargain when he sees one, its the same old Venkys, one tiny step forward and a massive leap backwards. Venkys out.
  5. As den says above, bloody awful camera work by Sky to pick out the wrong fielder, happened a few times last night.
  6. We already have the Celtic talent spotter in John Park, during his time at the club he identified the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Moussa Dembele and Victor Wanyama, he seems surplus to requirements now, probably doesn't fancy being restricted by which agency he can use to spot the next Virgil van Dijk....
  7. I drove through Holmfirth recently and the Mrs commented on the types of people milling around, looked like a throwback to her youth was one comment... We went home and looked at the gig guide for Holmfirth and The Fall were playing 3 nights, sold out, which explained things! I was never a fan, but clearly plenty still are.
  8. Rubbish.
  9. Property prices over here right now are off the charts Nate, I can concur with Jim and K-Hod, Ribble Valley is nice. If the Mrs wants to be close to the family, but not to close, lovely places 40 mins North of Sheffield - Penistone, Holmfirth, Denby Dale, Shelley, New Mill, Kirkburton and Meltham. Happy hunting.
  10. He was right wasn’t he? Look at the current managerial search, fans talking of Dyche, Carvalhal and Farke, managers we had zero chance of attracting because we are now more 1985 than 1995 sadly.
  11. Like Shaun Dyche you mean? An unemployed manager on the scrap heap you were championing Rev? Billionaire owners don’t forget, they have to get one right you said? Now you seem happy with Rotherham’s manager? Has the penny dropped.
  12. We started off by interviewing decent candidates in Carvalhal and Farke, we’re now looking at poundshop appointments in Rotherham and Wycombe managers. This outcome was predicable, they’re going down the cheap route again, it’s a bloody disgrace. Venkys out!
  13. and one of our best ever batsmen of all time too chaddy.
  14. Call me old fashioned but this bloody DOF is juts another level of bureaucracy for me, why do we need a director of football? All our efforts should be targeted at getting a manager, not another level between him and the owners. Madness, waste of time.
  15. I remember Moyes and Ferguson backing 1 win in 23 games King rat - I wonder if they were working in the best interests of Blackburn Rovers.....
  16. Why get rid of a manager and replace him with a coach? Have you learned nothing over the past 11yrs?
  17. In 1889: Charlie Chaplin was born, as was Adolf Hitler. The Eiffel Tower was opened, Jack the Ripper was at large, Nintendo was formed and the pizza margarita was invented. Blackburn Rovers finished 4th and reached the semi final of FA Cup. What a year that was…..
  18. Fantastic Joe Root, an all time great English batsman and now part of 10,000 runs club along with Cooke. Who said test match cricket was dead, hard conditions, Foakes excellent too, good win for England. Brilliant watching, I’ll be at the next test, can’t wait.
  19. Both players would walk into any club in the Championship, losing them at this stage, with an already depleted squad, is madness. A bit like the managerial appointment, it’s poundshop football club, cost cutting, dumbing down, orchestrated decline that fills agents pockets only. Venkys out.
  20. Far to many in that management team SG, our billionaire owners can’t stretch to that.
  21. Stokes out playing……a one day shot…..spot on Jim, awful shot and probably lost us the test.
  22. 277 to win England, it’s the hope that kills you.
  23. Superb Stuart Broad, 3 wickets, 3 balls, England back in this now.
  24. Certainly a better chance than Ainsworth in my opinion, he would be an ambitious appointment ben.
  25. Ask yourselves, do you believe Gareth Ainsworth will get this club promoted to the Premiership? Or any other manager we're being linked with for that matter? The ambition has to be promotion, otherwise sacking Mowbray was pointless.
