  1. Safe journey to the Rovers fans making the trip today. Every single one of you are a credit to the club and the town for making this trip in these conditions. I hope you bring the points back with you.
  2. I disagree on Gallagher, he’s been an automatic pick since he arrived, but I’ll defer to the experts that keep picking him, I agree with them.
  3. Gallagher is a very good player, does the hard yards, we miss him when he doesn’t play. Yes he could score more goals, but managers keep picking him, I wonder why?
  4. It comes with the territory, he was exceptional when paying fees for players, no wonder he was kept around so long.
  5. Test match cricket has always been about not losing rather than winning, its ingrained into the fabric of the game across the globe. I'm surprised its taken this long for a new approach to the game, but I'm delighted its England leading the way as den says above. The only problem moving forward, you have to get into a commanding position to adopt this approach and against the Aussies in recent times we've been blown away far to often.
  6. Did you get to the derby game whilst in Argentina @Ianrally? On my bucket list, maybe next year.
  7. Get Doris to check your pulse, Messi doesn’t excite you 🤣 Lordy Lordy…..
  8. The Falklands was a long time ago, the world has moved on, so should you. What tremendous support once again by Argentina fans.
  9. Southgate needs to be kept at all costs, I think he struggles with the pressures of England management, all the outside stuff rather than football related. But we have no outstanding candidates right now, which is another reason to make sure he stays on for me. As for Rodgers, I rate him as a club manager, he was excellent at Liverpool I thought, but the fans always wanted a bigger name, he lasted longer than I thought he would.
  10. Having watched us hammered last time around, risk and reward is fine by me.
  11. After having time to reflect on Saturdays game, I’m still of the opinion that the ref was ******* useless.
  12. Spot on. England have only won twice in Pakistan in 60yrs until this series, this is a phenomenal effort by a tremendous team, Pakistan were blown away.
  13. Maybe he's persisting with the current tactics to try and improve the players in this area Tony. You're right we don't have the players to play this way, but with practice we could have.
  14. Absolutely matt83, just brilliant and entertaining right to the end.
  15. Sorry my misunderstanding. On the Trophy, Me too Darren, me too.
  16. Wasn’t much to beat? Have you seen the list of managers we’ve had over 20/30yrs? The real cream of the crop from across Europe? I respect your opinion of course but we must keep Southgate at all costs for me, no reason to replace him.
  17. I’ve read this a few times on here now, it doesn’t matter a jot, a poor argument in my opinion. Every England manager has failed miserably since Alf Ramsey in 66, Southgate has a record many of those managers would be proud of. He stays and wins the Euros for me, I may even dust off the passport myself.
  18. I think we should caveat the above with the same Brfcs posters wanted Mowbray out in Oct of the promotion season, which frankly was embarrassing, but this is an England thread. Do you want Southgate sacked?
  19. This site has an obsession with changing managers, be it at club level or national level, it rarely works as we have born witness to over many years. Southgate has moulded the current crop into an exceptional side, one of the best in the world currently in my opinion and he should be allowed to carry on the good work he's doing. That said, we are lacking in defence, thats isn't the managers fault, the Premiership is missing top quality English defenders especially in the middle, but we have to live with that. I know many England fans through work and on a personal level, hardly any think the managers time is up, which speaks volumes for me.
  20. Give over man 🤣 been on the Eggnog? Southgate is the man to take this side forward, not some has been with an ego the size of a small country.
  21. It is Wheelton you’re right, he needs to find what works and what doesn’t, but it’s no coincidence that almost every top club in the world use this tactic, it must bring some rewards on the stats sheet somewhere. We don’t have the players to play that way right now in my opinion, but in doing so it could well improve the group and we see the rewards further down the line.
  22. Spot on Athlete. Its been 11yrs blaming manager after manager, the penny has to drop at some point. JDT was 5th maybe 6th choice to replace Mowbray, the managers looked at in the summer that could actually take the club to the next level, soon realised the club has no money and no ambition under these owners and went elsewhere. JDT needs time, he's been in the building 5 minutes, but if anyone thinks he or anyone else for that matter, under Venkys, will take this club up, you're in for disappointment season after season.
  23. Like losing to Rotherham, who gives a toss, move on, they mean nothing to us.
  24. A euro final is the best finish by an England manager since 1966, that’s good enough for me, keep going. Alf Ramsey?
