  1. Who is this “Carvahal” I keep reading about on here? Surely not the Carvalhal that used to manage Braga. Sorry marton, couldn’t resist 😉
  2. We have Sheff Wednesday season ticket holders in the family, they loved Carlos, still do, but he did fall at the final hurdle. It was clearly a great time to be a Wednesday fan after all the crap that came before and they don't recognise the description you give above JBiz. He's way beyond our means, as is Farke in my opinion, we're more Grayson than Carvalhal.
  3. The most revealing post yet, source also, not the usual fabricated nonsense we get on here. Thanks Miller.
  4. History tells us that the owners have never had a plan, let alone a forward plan. Until they prove otherwise, we have to assume thats still the case don't we?
  5. Yep. We sold Armstrong and Raya in the same time, but never reinvested anywhere near what was needed for promotion.
  6. Forest have spent over £25m on players over the past 3 seasons, I'm sure that helped too! Yes they pulled a few quid in, but its like selling Armstrong and using the money to improve the team, who would of thought such an approach would reap rewards.......
  7. Jail the **** and throw away the key.
  8. Leeds are appalling right now, lots of fight but not much else, I can't see them getting anything from Brentford sadly......
  9. I must admit to being less than enthused with the McCullum appointment chaddy, but the more I read about him the more impressed I become. What he did for NZ cricket starting in 2013 was staggering. He brought a completely new ethos to NZ cricket that we so desperately need here, culminating in NZ winning the test series last year. I wish him all the best.
  10. What Sheff Weds, Ipswich and Pompey would give for a 2nd place and promotion. Stupid comment.
  11. As Sheffield Wednesday plan for another season in division 3, with the biggest budget in the division and the highest paid player, I think it’s worth pointing out……. Promotions are hard work, budgets and money guarantee nothing. Cheers Tony, Doncaster, a night Rovers fans will never forget.
  12. Looks like Nixon and the press have been reading my posts on Carlos Carvalhal. He was loved at Hillsborough, but he spent a few quid in the process and ultimately failed at the final hurdle. He was also at the club when the owner got his maths wrong, sold the ground to himself which ended up with Wednesday getting a points deduction which sees them in the 3rd division today. He had the excellent Fernando Forestieri pulling the strings in midfield alongside Barry Bannan and just missed out on promotion, beaten by Steve Bruces Hull City in the final. His Braga side this season have been excellent to watch, but he's spent over £10m in the past 2 season at Braga, he spent heavily at Hillsborough too. Blackburn Rovers mid 2000's I'd have said Carvalhal was a good fit, but the skint shell of a club are today, I'd so no chance he would come here, he's got bigger fish to fry and a higher profile than Blackburn Rovers under these useless owners.
  13. Nope. Mowbray gave us stability, a steady hand until the owners sod off. Now we’ve rolled the dice, I think we’re relegation candidates for next season as a result.
  14. That was a lifetime ago but it did happen. Our spending over the last 4 transfer windows = £1.99. £300k for a new pitch = No money. Ground maintenance = No money. Playing assets new contracts = No money. If you think the new man is getting serious funds good luck to you.
  15. We need a manager who can put this club into the Premiership in the next couple of years, do you think Ainsworth is that man roverandout?
  16. From a financial point of view and the clubs reputation, both have never been in a worse state in the modern era. We have an ex-manager, widely seen by many as punching above his weight, bringing stability, whilst shopping in the bargain basement for free transfers and loans. Despite the initial bravado at the managerial change about to happen, you all know what’s coming next don’t you? King rat, Berg, Appleton, Bowyer, Lambert, Colye, Mowbray…….xxxxx
  17. Only in 12 months from now will some see the real merits of what Mowbray brought to this basket case of a club. He picked up the pieces after another disastrous managerial appointment and put the club back on a firm footing in the Championship. The promotion night in Doncaster will live with me forever, those nights don’t come along to often. The club has no structure, skeleton staff, depleted squad and missing owners, who wouldn’t want that challenge?
  18. Fans are desperate for a decent manager to come in, I get that. Its been 11yr+ of absolute pain and agony for us all, I get it, but let’s be realistic here. We have only a snowballs chance in hell of attracting Dyche or Farke, managers that are looking for Premiership appointments on big money and nothing we have to offer will attract them to Ewood. As a famous dingle once said, after a 5-0 tonking at Ewood, it’s minis vrs Ferraris and we’re shopping for minis.
