Matt Jansen was going out with H from steps. -
This happened in the same season as the Palace playoff disaster, probably 2 of the worst days I've had following the club, gutted. Drawing 3rd division Brentford at home in 5th round of the cup was a given, I was already dreaming of a Semi-Final at Villa Park, but Gary Blissett had other ideas..... FA Cup Round 5 Date: Sat 18th February 1989 Venue: Ewood Park Result: Blackburn 0 Brentford 2 Crowd: 15,280 Goalscorers: Blissett (70), Blissett (80)

Jackie Milburn was a Newcastle legend, be interesting if any of our older fans can recall just how good he was? He certainly looked a player on those brief highlights, fast, close control and could score a goal two. @renrag maybe?

Great bit of footage here from FA Cup semi final 1952 replay at Elland Rd.

Is it just me or do Scotland seem to play Ukraine most international breaks these days 🤔

Ashley Phillips - signs a new deal
Gav replied to Sparks Rover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Don’t get me wrong here, I’m glad Philips has signed a new deal at Ewood, but the circus around him signing shows just how far this great club has fallen. Before these owners and the almighty shit show arrived, this would have been done quietly in the background, no fuss, job done….. Not these days….. -
I think it was the biggest terrace in Britain at one time, very impressive.

Plenty of posters, me included, have been saying for 2 seasons now that the squad isn't where it needs to be in terms of quality and numbers, this isn't a reaction to a win against an extremely poor Watford side at all.
-
Tomasson could have all manor of reasons to not be playing the players to mention M_B and I know for sure he wouldn't want to be relying on the likes of Philips and Wharton if he didn't have to. Last season we clearly lacked quality and numbers when injuries and suspensions hit, we are worse off this season in my opinion and that could lead to a relegation scrap this time around.

Not much footage of the game, Charlton away, Rovers won promotion 1958. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JpEre63cNvo Rovers ran football special trains to this one, the gate was over 56,000.

Cellar Bar Blackburn 2007 - Free gig: The Courteeners. Now selling out Heaton Park in 20 mins, but they’ve stayed loyal to the town and it’s fans.

Spot on.

Some posters are going way over the top, I get the felling some of you thought getting rid of Mowbray was the only thing between us and promotion.... The squad is weaker than last season, the managerial team are new, the formation and style of player is different and everyone needs to calm down and give the manager and his staff time to bed in. This season is a write off already for me, the Sheff Utd game set the bar and we are miles away from being candidates for the mix up come May, if we manage a mid-table finish I'd be overjoyed to be honest. Can I just add that the 800 Rovers fans that made that trip yesterday deserve nothing by credit, its tough times out there right now and that support was tremendous, despite the poor result. Onwards and upwards.

Me and everyone else clearly….. You've been slagging off JDT since the first few games of the season. Anyone who understands football will tell you the guy needs time, the players need time, simple really.
-
You put forward Kompany as an example, who has spent £20m, I need say no more……. Tripe.
-
Absolute tripe. This season is a write off, the new regime needs time to put its stamp on this young side and hopefully they’ll get that time. If posters wanted continuity and another crack at the playoffs immediately, then Mowbray was your best bet.
-
At least you chose Notts instead of Luton. Safe trip home pal.
-
Isn’t that why we work? To line our own pockets? The vast majority don’t do it for the love of the job, are football managers different?
-
Please stay away from the burnley game Jim, we’re going to need all the help we can get!
-
Yes I saw that, but to be honest I can never remember us winning at Luton and I’m sure Jim wasn’t at them all.
-
It’s in the blood Tyrone, you know that.
