  1. I wouldn’t be so sure, this is Liverpool we’re talking about, media darlings. Jumping the gate isn’t anything new, always happened watching England away and I’ve seen it watching Rovers too.
  2. https://www.cherrytreecricketclub.co.uk/the-lashings-world-xi-are-coming-to-cherry-tree/ Cherry Tree CC are playing Lashings world X1 next week with Blowers commentating, what a coup that is. Devon Malcolm, Chris Lewis and Yasir Arafat will be turning out.
  3. Has he had a better offer? 🤣😉 https://www.barrowafc.com/news/2022/may/120522-barrow-afc-end-contract-talks-with-phil-brown-over-vacant-first-team-manager-position/ However, negotiations over him taking the role on a full-time basis have proved unsuccessful and the Club will now move in a different direction. “I would like to place on record my thanks to Phil and to Neil McDonald for their efforts since coming into the Club,” commented Chairman, Paul Hornby.
  4. Bullshit. I mentioned him once as a joke, in relation to the Coyle appointment, you mentioned Mike Gregory and Alan Smith, got an update?
  5. What a quality pool of managers back in 2016, just imagine not being able to pick the cream of the crop out of that dross...... NEIL Warnock admitted he spoke to Blackburn Rovers in the summer over their vacant manager’s job. Rovers interviewed Warren Joyce, Russell Slade and Nigel Adkins before appointing Owen Coyle as Paul Lambert’s replacement. “I did talk to Forest and Blackburn and one or two others and for whatever reason they never came to fruition. I'll tell you why it never came to fruition Neil, Coyle came in on less money than you did, but you had the last laugh taking Cardiff up to Premiership whilst we went into 3rd division....... Be afraid.....
  6. This isn't only about communication its about action. Its long been a bugbear for many supporters that the new home shirt was never available before the summer holidays, as many supporters would purchase to take it away with them, well now it is, get them bought you thin people 😉 Good effort by the club.
  7. Bloody draw, T20? Catching practice for Lancs on Monday, great night out, the corporate was excellent 😃
  8. Lets face it, you'd never heard of Carvalhal until I mentioned him on here as a possible replacement for Mowbray. His record isn't as good as Mowbrays, who took West Brom up as Champions, but I'd have Carlos here, I doubt your mates in Pune will pay the wages or transfer pot to make that happen, but time will tell.
  9. You'd have thought Benitez would have been spelt correctly, not sure I believe that screen grab to be honest. Rafa was actually sounded out a while back for the job, but it never got past agent stages.
  10. That keeps one posters 100% record on being 100% wrong still in tact then....... I'll be stunned if Carvalhal comes to Ewood, his wage demands alone would put him out of our reach in my opinion and he'll need transfer funds, as the playing side has had no significant funding for years now. I'll caveat this also by saying Carlos has never got a team promoted to the Premiership, he failed at Wednesday and failed at Swansea, but he plays decent football and is a good guy and right now under these owners thats possibly the best we can hope for.
  11. He's not good enough, he's a 4th division CEO in my opinion, but I'd rather have a 4th division CEO than nobody in that role. As always these owners opt for mediocrity, the level they operate at and thats the real crux of the matter.
  12. Had an email from the club yesterday: Watch 4 Local Derbies with a Season Ticket! In the small print is mentioned the dingles making it 5. But I wanted to praise the club for once in regards to offering fans the ability to make a charitable donation for under privileged groups: Fans will also be able to make a £5, £10, £15 or £20 charitable donation to our award-winning Blackburn Rovers Community Trust to help fund match tickets for underprivileged groups. Superb stuff, the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust should actually take over the running of the whole operation in my opinion, they're the one shining light in the current setup.
  13. Ray Liotta 67 - Goodfellas fame has died in his sleep, he played real life gangster Henry Hill in the film and what a film.
  14. Don't be so sure yankfan. They promised Paul Lambert significant funds to rebuild the club, within weeks they refused to answer his calls to put existing staff on contracts or provide transfer funds, he walked out after that and good on him, lying swines.
  15. Any of us could turn the clubs fortunes around in 12 months, maybe not on the playing side, that requires significant funds, but marketing, ticket deals, community engagement, ground maintenance, sponsorship, new initiatives, you get the picture. The owners don't care, its blindingly obvious, the CEO and his skeleton staff are just happy picking up the wage and I know I sound like a broken record, but I can never see this changing until the owners piss off. Until then the club limps along with no end in sight, its criminal.
  16. Can you imagine the outrage on here? Guardiola plays most of his players out of position and often without a striker, the site would go into meltdown.
  17. The owners appointed a cheap, 4th rate CEO in Waggott, he's working way above his pay grade in my opinion. The buck stops with the owners, the enablers of mediocrity and until they leave this doesn't improve.
  18. Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band have announced they're touring Europe next year, UK dates coming out soon. If you've never seen them live they're phenomenal, best band I've ever seen by a country mile. Even if you only have a passing interest, I'd encourage you to go and see them.
  19. Nobody at the club actually gives a toss how many season tickets we sell, the owners will stump up the annual £30m to cover running costs, we all get paid, job done. For the main players running the place in Blackburn its only a job, they're not emotionally involved, they're earning a decent crust running a club that won the Premiership 1995, looks great on CV that. I don't blame Waggott and rest of this brigade, this apathy comes from the top, anyone in business or employment knows the leadership set the standards, if they're missing in action or simply useless, that filters down through the organisation and spreads like wild fire. Plenty of talk in the media at the moment about working from home, Venkys have been working from home since 2011 and look at the results. Venkys Out
  20. I've posted this before, so apologies for anyone that has seen it. This was the betting a few days before Mowbray was appointed in 2017, as you'll see, he wasn't even in the running, was never even mentioned in the lead up to being given the job. Has Hasselbaink been mentioned this time around? Someone had him on the list in 2017, why wouldn't he be on now? Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink 7/2 Kenny Jackett 5/1 Steve Cotterill 5/1 Dougie Freedman 11/2 Nigel Adkins 6/1 Tim Sherwood 7/1 Billy Davies 10/1 Alex McLeish 10/1 Gary Rowett 10/1 Nigel Pearson 12/1 Mark Warburton 16/1
  21. Can someone please tell me it wasn't all a dream? They did get relegated on the last day of the season didn't they? Anyone?
