  1. Who are Hurst and Aspinwall? Anyone seen them play?
  2. You don't understand what Bazball is and it is no difference to other captains/head coaches in previous regimes saying it. Only difference if everything is Stokes won't slammed someone for playing an atatcking shot and getting out like previous captain 30 years would have done. Thank god the game has move on from that boring 2 runs an over days The series have been great overall watch where England bossed the series and played positive cricket throughout the season. Well, what is worth I have been watching Test Cricket for 28 years now so my opinion is based on that and that the cricket need move on from the past ways of playing. Test cricket is under massive threat from Franchise cricket and unless we modernise and look at ways to attract the next generation to test cricket and keep them enjoying it. I think the way South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and West Indies state of the test cricket is horrible to see and I loved watching England play in South Africa in December and New Year period in a 5 test match series. We will never get to see that again at this rate It wasn't my question actually Jim, so please get your facts correct. Gav also asked you. Clearly you were trying to wind people up on here.
  3. Cos he had enough of playing and was to go out playing his last test in the Ashes and spend more time with his partner and child. You still don't understand what Stokes and McCullum even tho me and several others including Den has explained to you. You were asked more than twice who you would replace Stokes and McCullum with but you choose to ignore the question. what mistakes in selection? I think Stokes will want Anderson in India to give the squad some experience. My squad:- Crawley, Duckett, Pope, Root, Brook, Bairstow, Stokes, Foakes, Lawrence, Jacks, Leach, Ahmed, Anderson, Wood, Tongue, Potts, Stone Pleased you have enjoyed the series
  4. Brilliant win for England. Well done England. Stokes managed this team very well and both teams played their part and Stokes got a response from his own players 2 nil down to come back to 2-2 and if Manchester hadn't been rain off I think we would have won the series 3-2. I don't doubt to be honest. It will be interesting squad selection for India in January I would have picked Crawley. Had a brilliant series
  5. thanks for the info there. Lets hope we see them come through in the coming years. Isn't Dawson 33 years old?
  6. thanks for the reply. Yes I remember Fraser bowling. Line and length bowler
  7. Yes I know that Bet365/Coates family own Stoke City but I am sure I read it on here. Maybe it was somewhere else tho
  8. what type of bowlers are these as I don't know them as I don't watch much of county cricket?
  9. Thanks for the reply Ewood what type of bowler are Sam Cook or Tom Lawes or Atkinson? I mean are the swing bowlers or pace bowlers for example. Matt Fisher and Olly Stone were the 2 I couldn't remember. Any more spinners apart from Will Jacks, Rehan Ahmed and Matt Parkinson?
  10. 1. Who will win this year’s Championship ? Southampton 2. Who will claim runners-up spot ? Stoke City 3. Who will finish rock bottom in the Championship ? Cardiff 4. Where will Rovers finish this season in the league ? if we sign Goalscorer and bring in a couple more quality players than top 6. If we don't 12th for me 5. How many league goals will Rovers score this season ? sign goalscorer and right winger both with quality, 71 goals. If not 52 6. Who will win the BRFCS POTY ? Adam Wharton
  11. well done to Stoke owners
  12. do we turn down a better shirt sponsorship deal from Bet 365? I am sure I read that on here but can't find it anywhere when searching for it
  13. unless we sign a goalscorer and bring in a couple more signings we won't finish higher than 12th
  14. thanks for the info I think the bowling attack will need to be overhaul in the short term whilst the batting doesn't. Do you have any suggestions for possible bowlers we should be looking at? Potts, Jamie Overton, Tongue, Robinson. Any more names?
  15. exactly Den. I have posted several times about what Stokes and McCullum approach is. wrong. Players take their own responsibility for the wicket or making runs. Look at Crawley who has been England's best performing run scorer and how wonder how many would have said this before the series started. I have backed Crawley cos he has the game for test cricket and knows how to score runs at this level The best captain in my lifetime was Andrew Strauss and Michael Vaughan. I started following cricket in 1996 when Michael Atherton was captain
  16. I understand what you are saying. I think he will play in India and next summer then call it a day but you never know. Cos not everyone agree with you and how many of those 6 or 7 England teams have won in Pakistan? This team have. I think Vaughan's ashes team and Strauss team was 2 that stood out for me in my life time, But I do think this England team have had some good times in this series and played the positive attacking cricket people want to see nowadays and will attract the next generation. Test Cricket is under threat from Franchise cricket and T20 cricket international. So unless Test Cricket actually does something different and play in more positive manner then the current and next generation will move away from Test Cricket
  17. lets see what their squad is when the window is shut.
  18. Sigurdsson played on the winger or false 9. He is not centre midfield. The midfield we should be playing is Szmodics, Tronstad and Wharton. Buckley and Travis on bench.
  19. I can see that point of view. We play India in January and I not sure whether he would want to bowl on those surfaces to be honest. If he is available then I would take him there and he would be our bowler to bowl 12 to 15 overs who would keep it tight and bowl wicket to wicket. The make up of the team will be interest if Stokes can't bowl cos we need 2/3 spinners and at least 3 seamers. For me is who our spinners would be and I would take Leach, Jacks and Ahmed as our 3 spinners plus Root as part time spinner Can't see Key, Stokes and McCullum doing this
  20. He did well, put his foot in when needed. Pass well. He would be my sitting midfielder for WBA game with Wharton and Szmodics in a midfield 3
  21. very good day for England. We played with a tempo and intent to score quickly and get the score board moving. Crawley is the top top scorer in the Ashes and I wonder how many people would have said that before the series started, Broad has been excellent for England and he will get a great send off tomorrow and rightly said. I think Anderson might announce his retirement tomorrow. I think Broad will join the Sky Sports Cricket team and give his excellent insight into cricket from the commentary box
  22. I think it was hard to judge a player on very limited number of minutes. Maybe Writing him off was wrong word I deffo agreed that it is hard to have an opinion on Ennis already. I was hoping for 20-25 mins spell for him. We deffo need new signings in and quick
  23. Its was good atmosphere in the fan zone area. Different groups interactive with the crowd and its was good. Well done to the people in involved. Disappointed the lack of food options outside the ground but I don't blame the people who organised today I thought it was good workout for Rovers against a good opposition. It was good watch and enjoyable. Its a pre season friendly but we all know where Rovers are short in terms of attacking options. I will post more in the Transfer thread after. Ennis only got 8 mins which I was disappointed by The Pitch looked in excellent condition For me, Dolan is more suited to playing on the left in this system. Surely you mean left foot? woah, It was his first game of pre season after a full week of training. Maybe hold off for now before writing him off
