Look at the failure under Capello and Eriksson given the salary they were paid and how we played in the tournaments with them at the helm. mostly dire. Yes McClaren and Taylor failed but Sir Bobby Robson, Terry Venables and Gareth Southgate have produced our best tournaments in the last 37 years. I also believe that the England football manager should be English. If you fine but I won't be changing my opinion on it

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?
chaddyrovers replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
@roversfan99have you watch the second part of the interview with Gregg Broughton yet? He explains how transfers are done and the process. Are you happy with the explanation or not? Having watch the second part of the interview now, he explains how George Hirst was our first choice striker signing, and it was Jon Dahl Tomasson who made him our first choice striker target. Five out of 6 summer signings were identified in early July and Rovers enquiry for these players very quickly. Sepp Van Der Berg was set to sign here until Liverpool stopped the deal. The medical was done aswell interviews and photos was done aswell for him. Rovers would like to have their shortlist for summer transfer target done by Easter and 2 or 3 players in before pre-season starts ideally (something to judge and know for future transfer windows). Rovers have advertised for Head of European Scouting now. Gregg Broughton met Ben Brereton Diaz and his agent early on after his appointment happen and they want to move if the right opportunity came along but he never asked to leave the club. Owners set the valuation on him, and no club got anywhere close to it with any offer. We only had offers in below 10 million pounds for him which were all rejected. He gives BBD huge credit for his attitude and performances so far and never once let any of the media speculation bother him or let it affect his performances -
Chilwell is coming back from injury firstly. Mount has a lack of form recently but is a quality player. Grealish has the skill and fair I want in my team where we can create chances for Kane and others to score. It's quite clear that our best tournements results happens when we have an English manager in charge. Here are a few examples for you. Semi-final under Bobby Robson in 1990 world cup or same in Euro 96 under Terry Venables or the 2 tournaments under Gareth Southgate. In my opinion, we should always have an English manager/coach in charge of the England national team

JDT wants the players playing at weekend's so the players can train together through the week and also he can have a look at more under 21's players training with the first team. I can understand that even if it's means not attend to games of the under 21's

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

I have only watched the first part of the Gregg Broughton's interview and I thought he came across very well and very insightful of the start of his reign as Director of Football. His comments are most than welcome. He also said he speaks directly to the owners and doesn't have to go through Steve Waggott to them. He says the owners have backed him and JDT in every way possible. To be honest, it's time that Rovers used their own channels including Rovers TV for interviews with Gregg Broughton, Jon Dahl Tomasson and Steve Waggott for a prime example. Hasn't this question already by Rovers that no club met our asking price, and we won't sell on the cheap like you suggested that you would have accept an offer of below 10 million pounds. I would imagine Gregg Broughton might answered in more detail in the second part of the interview but Rovers have explained in the statements on the website. i very doubt Gregg Broughton is going to talk publicly about how much is left in the pot and why would you make that public to other clubs and agents. Also, similar answer to the Brereton funds point. Gregg Broughton and Jon Dahl Tomasson explained fully how the process for recruiting and signing players happens when the were unveiled to the media in July. Why is that a question for Gregg Broughton since that not an area of the club he is responsible for? -
I would say most of those players are in form for their clubs.

My team would be Pickford Tripper Stones Dier Chilwell Rice Bellingham Foden Mount Grealish Kane

Channel 4 won the England football broadcasting rights. Outbid both BBC, Sky and ITV. All that matters is tournament results. Southgate has delivered semi finals and final in his tournament football in his 2 tournaments.
-
Southgate was the best English candidate and still is the best choice right now. The England manager should always be English. Its always delivered our best tournament results

Didn't watched the game but from what I read about it, it's wasn't our beat game but I wouldn't be playing 3-4-3 but go back to playing 4-2-3-1 with 3-5-2 as plan B. I know what my starting 11 would be right now No I didn't missed the point at all. The Nations League is shite and need scraping asap. Another pointless effort from UEFA. Just have fewer international games and breaks in the season.

Wouldn't Norwich and Bournemouth have bigger budget to be fair? -
Very true there Matty. Its a utter pointless competition and another mess from UEFA Surely the main back up striker will be Tammy Abraham now.

Warnock, did nothing at Boro in his last job. Yet again another manager should be left in retirement. Woodgate got Bournemouth to playoffs when he was caretaker for half season. IMO, Rotherham need a new manager. I stand by 2 suggestions -
Toney is very different striker to Kane. I think Chelsea should have sign him as their main striker.

Paul Warne has left Rotherham for Derby now. Rotherham chairman has said they already had 30 people applying for job before Warne deal was confirmed. I think Mark Bonner or someone Jonathan Woodgate would be good options for them -

I would sign a new striker, attacking left side player and that would be hit. I have assume we have sign Hirst permanent that why we only 1 striker next summer, but that's a long way off so let's focus on this season for now -

Rovers footballing strategy is right that we keep bringing through our talented young players and we are producing this season after season, and I can't think of another championship club who is producing the amount of good talent players we are. The Rovers academy deserved huge credit for this. Mike Sheron and Stuart Jones are at the front of the academy and the quality of coaching they are getting is a major part of the reasons why we are. Gregg Broughton and Jon Dahl Tomasson have been quite clear this is project and developing our own players is major part of this aswell has signing players who will be add quality to the squad. On Hirst, he isn't a youngster but he is 23 years old and there is reason why Rovers made him our number 1 target and why Rovers chased him all summer. I don't see blocking Vale pathway at all as his chance will still be there. Plus, Hirst has played only 96 mins so far and people yet again are being over judgemental on these performances instead of looking that he isn't match fit before he joined and still learning how we want him to play under JDT How Gregg Broughton can be blame at all for Luton's relegations when he was only in charge of the academy there during that time is mind boggling at least. I would say Norwich did bring through a number of young players like Aarons, Lewis, Cantwell, Godfrey into their squad during the promotion season 2018/19. So yes, it has been done before. -

no surprised that Derby wants Warne as their next manager. They are under new ownership and its bigger club than Rotherham. Probably a bigger budget than Rotherham for him. He has done a very good job at Rotherham -

I don't see BBD has a main striker like I have said mainly times, I would sign a left side attacking player when he goes next summer. I have also said quite clear for over 3 weeks that I think BBD will sign a pre contract with Spanish club and move there next summer. whilst I see Gallagher, Hirst and Vale has strikers and not wide attackers -
Ashley Phillips - signs a new deal

You can only offer a 3 year contract at that age of 17. These are the rules -
