  1. Didn't watched the game but from what I read about it, it's wasn't our beat game but I wouldn't be playing 3-4-3 but go back to playing 4-2-3-1 with 3-5-2 as plan B. I know what my starting 11 would be right now No I didn't missed the point at all. The Nations League is shite and need scraping asap. Another pointless effort from UEFA. Just have fewer international games and breaks in the season.
  2. Here is the first part of the interview(got to log in to watch). https://www.rovers.co.uk/videos/ written verison https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/september/23/gregg--everyone-s-been-so-supportive/
  3. Yes JDT has given them a few days off like managers do at these international breaks
  4. Wouldn't Norwich and Bournemouth have bigger budget to be fair?
  5. Very true there Matty. Its a utter pointless competition and another mess from UEFA Surely the main back up striker will be Tammy Abraham now.
  6. Warnock, did nothing at Boro in his last job. Yet again another manager should be left in retirement. Woodgate got Bournemouth to playoffs when he was caretaker for half season. IMO, Rotherham need a new manager. I stand by 2 suggestions
  7. Toney is very different striker to Kane. I think Chelsea should have sign him as their main striker.
  8. Paul Warne has left Rotherham for Derby now. Rotherham chairman has said they already had 30 people applying for job before Warne deal was confirmed. I think Mark Bonner or someone Jonathan Woodgate would be good options for them
  9. I would sign a new striker, attacking left side player and that would be hit. I have assume we have sign Hirst permanent that why we only 1 striker next summer, but that's a long way off so let's focus on this season for now
  10. Rovers footballing strategy is right that we keep bringing through our talented young players and we are producing this season after season, and I can't think of another championship club who is producing the amount of good talent players we are. The Rovers academy deserved huge credit for this. Mike Sheron and Stuart Jones are at the front of the academy and the quality of coaching they are getting is a major part of the reasons why we are. Gregg Broughton and Jon Dahl Tomasson have been quite clear this is project and developing our own players is major part of this aswell has signing players who will be add quality to the squad. On Hirst, he isn't a youngster but he is 23 years old and there is reason why Rovers made him our number 1 target and why Rovers chased him all summer. I don't see blocking Vale pathway at all as his chance will still be there. Plus, Hirst has played only 96 mins so far and people yet again are being over judgemental on these performances instead of looking that he isn't match fit before he joined and still learning how we want him to play under JDT How Gregg Broughton can be blame at all for Luton's relegations when he was only in charge of the academy there during that time is mind boggling at least. I would say Norwich did bring through a number of young players like Aarons, Lewis, Cantwell, Godfrey into their squad during the promotion season 2018/19. So yes, it has been done before.
  11. no surprised that Derby wants Warne as their next manager. They are under new ownership and its bigger club than Rotherham. Probably a bigger budget than Rotherham for him. He has done a very good job at Rotherham
  12. I don't see BBD has a main striker like I have said mainly times, I would sign a left side attacking player when he goes next summer. I have also said quite clear for over 3 weeks that I think BBD will sign a pre contract with Spanish club and move there next summer. whilst I see Gallagher, Hirst and Vale has strikers and not wide attackers
  13. You can only offer a 3 year contract at that age of 17. These are the rules
  14. We have to agree to disagree with you. I would only bring in another striker If Gallagher left
  15. I rate him and I think he is good player
  16. Great news that Phillips has signed 3 year contract. Well done to Rovers and everyone who was involved in getting it done. Rovers have shown for the last 12 years that we producing and developing our own players. We have clear and proper pathway for academy players into the first team
  17. Looks like Cardiff will leave caretaker manager Mark Hudson in charge. They don't appear to have any plans to bring in external appointment at this stage. In my opinion, it makes sacking Steve Morrison even stranger than I did before.
  18. I don't think it was the formation not working but we couldn't cope with Luton's intensity and when they upped their levels we didn't up ours which disappointed me. Yes I would change formation to 4-2-3-1 or even go 4-3-3 to match their midfield 3. BBD isn't main striker but he plays from the left, he prefers that role and his best scoring form comes from that. I don't think we needed another striker at all. Hirst has played around 96 mins so far in 3 games. Let's give him some time to learn how we want to play. I'm convince he will come good for us. Let's get him working with Rovers coaches over the next couple of weeks so he can hit the ground running in October. Vale is developing here and I'm pleased we kept him here instead of loaning out. On Gallagher, JDT seems to like playing him wide right but I would be open to selling him this January or next summer
  19. which ones are reluctant inclusions?
  20. Kaminski Brittain Hyam Wharton Pickering Travis Buckley Hedges Szmodics Brereton-Diaz Hirst Subs:- Pears, Ayala, Mola, Adam Wharton, Dolan, Gallagher, Dack
  21. I also like Stewart and if we can sign him cheap or on a free transfer then I would doing it I hope the club is currently looking for a signing for the left side forward position for next season I've said in previous posts. Either Sevilla or Valenica in my opinion he will sign a pre contract with
  22. That last season under a very different head coach. We need to focus on this season and the future this season. I don't agree with your viewpoint on Hirst but he is 23 years old and I see a player who lack match fitness and need to understand how we want to play. He can finish from what I seen watching clips and makes some good runs. I would start him in the Millwall game up front. Firstly, you see how the game goes before making a formation change or bring Dack on. Clearly JDT didn't think Dack was the right player for that game situation or could impact the game. Just for the record, I wouldn't start Dack in the next game either but he would be on the bench Gav, we are 7th in the league after 10 games. We shouldn't be thinking of relegation at all but looking to get into the top 6. I would also say that we have bigger squad right now than we did at this point last season. We were second last season after the January transfer window closed before Mowbray blew our chances of the playoffs by not being quick enough to switch formation and go back 4-2-3-1. Plus the misused of Ryan Giles who Mowbray thought he could turn into Mahrez. What a clown he really is.
  23. 2 very different players and position wise aswell. Stewart is a good signing if we can make it happen.
