https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/20156808.blackburn-rovers-manager-latest-carlos-carvalhal-comments-future/ In the search for a replacement for Tony Mowbray, Rovers are meeting with candidates having whittled down the list of applicants to a shortlist, understood to be at least five deep, and to include overseas options, with those to be held remotely. Rovers received in the region of 50 serious applications for the managerial position and have now reached a shortlist from which they will select a replacement for Mowbray who left at the end of his contract. Rovers are looking for a sporting director, as well as a manager, but the search for the latter is understood to be the more pressing at this moment in time, with both running parallel to each other.

Sunderland were the best team today and deserved to get promoted. I will look to do the Sunderland game but all depends when the game is -
Well thanks for sharing your info on here. For me, Daniel Farke and Carlos Carvalhal are the 2 outstanding candidates for the head coach job here. I wouldn't be surprise if he has apply for job here, but surely we need an experience appointment for the head coach role here. This isn't the time for novice

Well you can ruled Gareth Ainsworth out now cos he wants to stay at Wycombe. Don't think he suits the head coach role here tbh plus several posters on here like @JHRoverabout his style and player recruitment not fitting how Rovers play or the type of transfers we do. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61537994

wasn't it over 12 months ago? Since then alot has happened including improving our academy and keeping our cat 1 status confirmed by Stuart Jones
-
we are talking about Burnley academy being downgraded and their chairman using that system. Rovers are continually investing and improving our academy year on year

Lancs all out for 103 so are following on.

Just looking through the free agent list and they aren't many that would improve our team. I still feel we need between 6 to 8 signings depending on whether Nyambe and Lenihan sign new contracts with centre midfield being the position we need 2 to 3 signings at least, 1 left winger and 1 striker and 1 centre back. -
I read that story online about them losing their cat 1 status 2 years later after they gained it. Burnley reiterate Academy commitment but Clarets set to lose elite status - LancsLive

You have since the information from Andy Bayes and Rich Sharpe have both reported in the 2 days that Rovers are moving to next stage of the recruitment of our next head coach by starting interviewing process and hopefully we can make an appointment with a weeks or 2. I would imagine that Rovers have had alot of applicants for the job over the past few weeks and have worked through them to finalise a shortlist to interview

I can see Newcastle sending them down. I can see Leeds getting a point. -
Like I said in my post we have to 2 fitness coaches to replace cos Liam Mason left for Newcastle and Jack Dowling for Everton in March. Plus our head of medical services Andrew Mitchell left for Red Bull Leipzig now. So there is your 3 vacancies. On Carlos Carvalhal, I don't know who he had on his staff at Braga with him or what he want will him here if he took the job. Daniel Farke, I would think he want his regular staff with him in number 2 Eddie Riemer, first-team coach Christopher John and Head of Performance Chris Domogalla. So If that what he wants to come here then I would give him what he wants. Just for the record I think Mark Venus, David Lowe and Ben Benson should go but I would keep Damien Johnson here for sure. wrong there, he said the majority of staff will stay, but what is he including that statement like scouting, recruitment and data analysis aswell?

Sounds like we have been talking to different candidates for the job according to the website that Pete O'Rourke and Wayne Veysey work for have posted this today A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Rovers are speaking to several candidates for the director of football role and hope to attract a highly-regarded operator and talent spotter to work alongside a new manager. on the coaching point, we are already without 2 fitness coaches and head of medical services so they will need replacing. Plus I would expect Venus and Lowe will go with Benson staying. It will be interesting who we interview in the next few days but I think Farke and Carvalhal will be interview and I think couple more foreign options. I think the Canada national coach John Herdman might be interview and he seemed to done a good job at national team boss there tho managing Championship level is very different. If we can appoint either Farke or Carvalhal as our next head coach then it should be them. They will have demands over budgets cos they will want promotion push here not just settling for mid table mediocre Depends what you class as majority of the existing staff whether that including recruitment and data analysis staff, we already have 3 vacancies on the first team coaching staff already. I think Venus and Lowe will go.
