  1. Those were years ago and the fact he hasn't managed for nearly 6 years ago given he has champions league. I would leave him on the unemployment ladder. First choice is Daniel Farke with Gareth Ainsworth second choice. Di Matteo has been out of work for nearly 6 years now. Time to leave him there I have suggested Ainsworth not for reasons of Blackburn connections at all, but he has 2 promotions and maybe a third on a small budget. Manning doesn't have any promotion on his CV. Mention by Alan Nixon to me yesterday. Interview with by Waggott and Pasha maybe with Balaji video link maybe. Its better than it being done by other non Rovers people, I think interviews people is a fairly common tools these days in my line of work these days still. Nothing wrong with interviews and talking to different candidates then appoint the best man for the job.
  2. I backed Farke in the Betting and I stick with it. got 20/1. very happy with that bet
  3. very unfair comment there Mercer. Lets hope its resolve quickly to we don't have to read your predictions anymore that very rarely come true tbh. Like Allardyce to Burnley to replace Dyche, didn't happen. Mowbray to WBA, didn't happen. Alex Neil come here, didn't happen. Your latest one, Mowbray won't be in charge for the Birmingham away game, lets see if this one comes true?
  4. He will be the shortlist but I think he just wouldn't the same type of appointment for me. I also think Lee Johnson, former Bristol City and Sunderland boss will be on the 6 man shortlist(just a feeling) I think the 6 man shortlist will be Daniel Farke, Gareth Ainsworth, Phillip Cocu, Lee Johnson, Mark Warburton and David Unsworth. I think these 6 will be interviewed for the Rovers manager/head coach job here to replace Mowbray with
  5. I don't think Venky's ever fully trusted Lambert after he wouldn't come here and be Rovers manager until Venkys agreed to his demand of a release clause in the contract. I also think Lambert never trusted the Venkys either. It make take a couple of years to build a team for promotion like Daniel Farke did at Norwich or like Carlos Corberan has done at Huddersfield. They are 4th now and last season they finish 20th. Depending on finances and the players he wants, it come take 2 or 3 transfer windows before we have side good enough to finish top 6 and got promotion.
  6. Di Matteo has been out of football far too long now and similar to Roy Keane being suggested on here. Football has moved on and we need a manager who knows this league and has promotion on his CV surely if our ambition is promotion in the next 2 to 3 seasons? Can I asked why you think appoint Ainsworth is a risk too much to take but you would support us appoint Liam Manning as Mowbray's replacement who has no Promotion on his CV? Mowbray's hasn't spoken to the owners for months and Waggott is just a yes man, so how would Mowbray know much? Is Suhail Pasha and Waggott going to tell Mowbray anything. I respect you for you posting that you would give Mowbray a new contract. I have supported Mowbray for most of his time but I feel a massive change is needed here and we need a new manager with new coaching staff if we ever want PL football back here cos Mowbray has had 4 years here and never achieved it.
  7. I know a few people who used to be STH but now have children and got on to property ladder so they have cut back on certain things and their children have activities so can't come to games as often as they would like. Plus their working pattern has changed meaning they can't make games. Rovers need to make more affordable for people with cheaper season ticket prices. match day prices plus food and drink cheaper and better quality if you want to get people back plus we need to be getting more into schools, youth clubs and local football teams to give away free tickets, merchandise and etc.
  8. Correct Its was based I guess on the 2 nicko stories and rumours around at that time
  9. Not at all, Lambert was odds on like 4/6 as soon as the market went up if my memory serves me right which gives no value on your bet. JFH was 4 or 5/1 if my memory serves me right. Not odds ons straight away like Lambert was He said attacking football not attractive. Why is not worth a risk as every appointment is a risk? But you are very happy to take a risk on Liam Manning from MK Dons who has no promotions on his CV.
  10. 2 pros and 2 cons as Blackburn Rovers consider Daniel Farke as Tony Mowbray successor 2 pros and 2 cons as Blackburn Rovers consider 45-year-old as Tony Mowbray successor (msn.com)
  11. Somewhat true but I remember when Bowyer was sacked and Lambert was odds on favourite straight away based on a couple of news stories in the media. The LT could be asking potential managers whether they are interested in the Rovers job and whether they have applied for the job. They have asked for interview with Waggott which I believe will be sometime this week if its happens I remember when Ince was sacked and the national media were running stories that Souness was going to be appoint the day after and Souness gave an exclusive interview to the LT to say he wasn't becoming Rovers manager. 2 promotions on a shoestring of budget.
  12. Thanks for the reply RDM hasn't been manager for nearly 6 years and I think that's too far out of management for me. Not keen on Cocu or Stam. Think Ainsworth or Farke would be the right and ideal appointment for me
  13. Great work by the club and the people involved in this. Great move by the club.
  14. Who would be your dream appointment? Roberto Di Matteo? from your sources at Rovers?
  15. Ex-Derby boss Phillip Cocu is leading contender to be Blackburn Rovers manager Blackburn Rovers: Ex-Derby boss Cocu is leading candidate for vacancy (footballinsider247.com)
  16. I would be looking at Callum Brittain from Barnsley as Nyambe's replacement. Another player I would be looking at is Oxford's midfielder Cameron Brannagan.
  17. Ainsworth will and its called doing it professional Farke was on around 1 to 1.5 million at Norwich when they were in the PL i have read on line so not unrealistic we could offer him around 700k a year here and if he gets us promotion we offer a 50% increase plus a million pounds promotion bonus. Nicko is saying they want to interview around 6 people and chose from that with the next 2 to 3 weeks Mention Wilcox a couple of weeks ago to coming here. yes he could be the next Steve Cooper and Neil Critchley or not. Its a risk to appoint him but every managerial appointment is a risk.
  18. Lets hope it happens. I am trying to keep my excitement calm and I will be only happy when its announce by Rovers and he is holding the Rovers shirt up at Ewood Park. Lets hope Venkys have learnt from this and they have a better understanding of football. Thanks for all the info Glen you post on here, very much apprenticed by us all Farke is the clear choice for these reasons, 1. He knows the league and has 2 promotions from this league 2. Will keep developing our young players and bringing more academy players through, 3. He plays good football 4. He is hard task master and demands the best. exactly what we need Do you not think that maybe Jason Wilcox come be coming here as Director of Football operations or something similar? QPR first choice target appearing to be MK Dons Liam Manning from what I read this morning.
  19. Mowbray has done the statement for them tbh, the main focus now is finding and interview candidates to replace Mowbray with Mason is being moving to Newcastle which will be challenging for top 6 next season. its a massive promotion with Howe and Ashworth they will have done their research before appointing him. The players look better fitness wise than last season. Sharpe said he is finalising an interview for end of the week with him. interesting comment there Glen, Hopefully it remain unanswered.
  20. I don't think Lowe needs replacing as Damien Johnson will just do that role. New manager will need his own number, fitness coach and goalkeeper plus replacing those who are leaving us for new clubs
  21. Here is Ainsworth's backroom team at Wycombe Assistant: Richard Dobson ,Goalkeeping Coach: Lee Harrison, First-Team Coach: Matt Bloomfield, .Head of Sports Science: David Wates, Recruitment Analyst: Stephen Clarke
  22. If Ainsworth is first choice then we need to wait until their playoffs run is over
  23. They are going to bigger clubs so what can you do. Would you turn down a move to Newcastle or Red Bull Leipzig where you are working with better players and improve salary?
  24. Yes the manager should be part of group who decide and bring in new staff to work with him. The manager needs to have a working relationship with this person. We need a manager who has lots of contacts out there where we bring them in without advertising for the position like we do now. These are positions that need filling already 1. Manager 2. Head of Player Recruitment 3. Lead Athletic Performance Coach 4. First Team Athletic Performance Coach 5. Head of Medical Services and that's before we even get to the new manager bringing in his own staff. Blimey this new manager will have a rebuilding job with the backroom staff aswell as needing 8 to 10 new signings
