  1. Barnsley seems to doing ok without players over 30 years old? I think Pike as right back option and McBride as striker option are ready but is Mowbray ready to trust them?
  2. Buckley should have playing regularly until end of the season. If Evans, Trybull and Downing weren't going to be here then they shouldn't have feature in our last 8 games. Thats why Mowbray should have given them game time in the last 8 games whether its was starting the game like Pike at Right back or Burns on the left of the front 3 or coming off the bench for 20 mins or so.
  3. Linked with Bristol City and Boro this weekend. Decent striker but we already have Sam Gallagher already. Now unless we have going to change our play this season under Mowbray then I don't see the point in signing another big striker. Reports in the North East suggest that his wage demands are far too high for Boro to pay.
  4. Wrong Stuart, You don't need loads of money to build a good quality team as this can been done on good free transfers, low cost fees and loans. Just look at Barnsley as an example as a team who has an identity and proper recruitment plan. They don't over pay or buy anyone over 24 years old. If you have good recruitment, scouting and data analysis department then you should be able to find them players from the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, etc. Plus a manager willing to trust his recruitment staff and his head of recruitment. Maybe this is why we need to go Sporting Director/head coach structure like Norwich have and look at the players they have recruited since Webber joined Sporting Director and Farke as head coach. Bennett hasn't been offered a new deal tho. He has held talks but no offer as been made similar to the Conway situation a couple of seasons again. Like I said I expect Bennett to move on from Rovers and join a club closer to home based in the midlands and spend less time away from his family on a weekly basis. JRC, Nyambe and Rothwell have been offered new deals but talks still on going. Didn't Buckley say when he sign his new deal thats it took nearly a year to agree terms? Was Bell offered a deal thats wasn't signed? where this from as both local reporters say he wasn't offered a new deal. Why keep Chapman? I would take these 2 players as it gives us a left footer centre player in Mowatt and a leader in midfield with Travis and play Buckley in the 10 role. Pearson is an experience centre back on a free espically with Ayala fitness problems likely to happen again this coming season.
  5. Its a good idea Joe about changing it from under 23's to under 21's even. I think you seem the benefit of Carter this season past going on loan and playing regular 1st team football in league 1. I think Rovers and our youth management setup doesn't do enough to get our good young players out of loan if they aren't good enough to break into our 1st team like Travis or Raya was. But get them loans to league 1 or 2 clubs. Thats cos first team managers won't play them in it. I remember watching Rovers under 23's vs Man City under 23's a couple of seasons where Mangala played and he was awful and Rovers players torn him apart. I think Pike, Eastham(could be number 2 or 3 choice for Rovers 1st team), Burns and McBride could set up to the 1st team for me and Mowbray should have given them a few games towards the end of the season instead of playing of players who werent going to be here next season. Its was mistake(another one by Mowbray) not to do so
  6. If Mowbray has been told that he will have to use some of under 23's this coming season due to lack of room in the budget and the owners want to see the manager bring through more then I am not against it considering how much investment we have made in having category 1 status even in league 1 and over the past 10 years of the owners' reign here. Is Mowbray the right manager and can he develop them is a big question Johnson might be the perfect choice to bring them through as manager/head coach or even as number 2 under new manager/head coach who believe in youth development
  7. The club is going to get a surprise on how many Season Ticket will be sold or the cost of them for fans for new season?
  8. Good watch for any one who is interested in how recruitment work in the championship and has a Barnsley player analysis staff member on
  9. I watched alot of the under 23 and 18 over the past 5 to 6 years until this lockdown prevent fans attending. The first time I watched Travis play I thought he will be one for the future for example. Players who are over 23's can play for under 23's like Dack and Ayala have done over the past 12 months so I don't see the point you are making tbh.
  10. I would want to be playing regular first team football in my peak years This is where our recruitment and data analysing department should have already identify possible replacements for Armstrong. I would change tactics and formation from last year and go back to playing a bit directly and play JRC or Dolan or new wide players on the wingers and get crosses into the box. is he not refering to the Israel Gaza Palestine conflict?
  11. It makes no sense to you but its depends what Armstrong wants and what Rovers wants. I not going to judge him on it cos we don't know the player or what his wishes are. for me, it depends on who we recruit this summer whether Armstrong stays or go and most of the championship clubs will be cutting back on wages and outgoings. Its going to challenging summer for most of this clubs at this level this summer. You got Boro and Bristol City looking to Luton striker James Collins being one of the transfer stories today
  12. How many clubs would play the first team pro's in the league when you consider the number of games that the first team play each season? Did you used to watch the old reserve league style system before it was changed to the current format? How much of the current format have you watch over the past 5 or 6 years?
  13. So Stuart, you haver no idea who we could target as possible replacement for Armstrong if we sold him? I gave a list a few weeks if not a couple of months ago. here is a link to the 6 players I suggested as possible Armstrong's replacements https://www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/33479-adam-armstrong/?do=findComment&comment=2181248 Shame you cant do it given all the footballing tools out there You have suggested we could get 3 gems with the Armstrong money but suggestion no names who these players are.
  14. and who did Bournemouth buy this past season? They don't need a striker they need a quality manager. Yet again Brentford would have to sell to buy but is a very different type of striker to Toney tho. This i9s why I said I would keep Armstrong only if we could get him to sign a new contract unless we have to sell and replace him somehow. If we do sell it will be interest who we sign to replace him with. I have suggested to going back to playing 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 and playing with a target man and pacey striker in front 2 or goalscorer number 10 with a striker in 4-2-3-1. What do you think of that Idea?
  15. Well lets see and what happens with Armstrong. I did say I would keep Armstrong here if he signs a new contract otherwise we have sell but get the price we want given that Newcastle get 40% of any money above 3 mil pounds we paid for him. Most Championship clubs will be cutting back on wages and fees they are paying this summer and it will only clubs who are relegated from PL or clubs who sell players before they buy. What Championship club apart from the 3 clubs relegated from PL who will be in the Championship this coming season can afford to buy him?
  16. I agree he has played a blinder Mowbray if he stays on next season
  17. Depends whether Armstrong is obsess by money or by playing football and scoring goals not sitting on the bench at a premier league club. Looks at Rhodes's career or Gestede's career or Marshall's career went after leaving Rovers I think its abit of both to be honest between his signings he made in the last 2 seasons, his obsession with this passing style philosophy without having the right players, his team selections and sticking with 4-3-3 when 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 looks the better option to me. Stuart, How do we replace Armstrong and his goals then? any suggestions of replacements?
  18. We won't miss a 29 goals striker so Stuart who do we replace him and what he gives the team in terms of pace, movement and finishing ability? can you names any potential replacements for him? I would keep him if we can get him to sign a new long term contract
  19. Guess it down to whether Armstrong wants to those PL clubs who are interested in him? and if we do sell how we replace him and play formation and style of play aswell without him?
  20. Worth noting that Newcastle get 40% of any transfer fee above 3 million pounds so if clubs will only bid 10 million pounds? Would you sell for that? If we did sell for that then we would only 7 million pounds to spend so who are these 3 hidden gems and how to replace a 29 goals striker? Can you explain how we do this? Can you name players we could sign to replace his goals or would you change tactics and formation to make up for the loss like Move Gallagher up front and sign someone like Yates from Blackpool then play a front 2 for example surely another 20 goals this coming season and his stock will be higher surely? depends on the clubs who wants him and the role he will have there? Does Armstrong want to be sub player at West Ham or Brighton? Or would he prefer to play regular first team football and scoring goals here under a new contract? How is a 29 goals striker Armstrong overrated? can you explain that one? If we keep Armstrong and signed a new contract and sell Rothwell why are we going to struggle given the lack of impact Rothwell had on the team and performances last season? Are we going to really miss him? Surely it means more starts for John Buckley to fill the gap?
  21. The Srivaddhanaprabha family since buying Leicester have been credit to the club, fans and the community
  22. https://the72.co.uk/235814/blackburn-rovers-ready-to-sell-joe-rothwell-to-give-adam-armstrong-pay-rise/amp/?__twitter_impression=true I would be if favour of selling Rothwell if order to get Armstrong to sign a new contract. We can't replace his goals or the player like for like so it's a no brainer for me.
  23. Bennett hasn't been offered any contract yet. I still think he will move to a club closer to home based in the Midlands
  24. You are wrong on this point cos I mention Reach as potential signing in this thread back on the 14th March Apologise?
  25. this shows he is just slightly ahead
