Mowbrays Successor
chaddyrovers replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Firstly I ain't your son Steven so please dont ever refer to me as that again!!! Also using when we are going through a global pandemic, lock down restrictions still happening and other related problems. Very unfair to used 2020. Like I've said before you want change of manager now that's fine but some of us dont. So accept that and move on or ignore me.. I'm not bothered either way -
Mercer, you have mention a tipping point scenario so many times I've lost count, you been better off going on the ITV show instead. You keep looking at things as short term instead looking in the long term and benefit of the club. A proper scouting and recruitment departments which we havent had since Allardyce time at the club. Players have improved and we have players who would bring in money to club like Armstrong, Dack, Kaminski, Travis. He got 22 points from 15 games. He did a good job that season. And it was Coyle fault we went down. His defensive signings were awful. Brown, Greer, Hendrie were 3 useless signings. I wonder why you wont attach any blame to Coyle?funny that really. You dont cant stand that people dont want rid Mowbray and used terms like that wind people. But it just weaken your point and arguments.

The owners have kept paying the bills and despite your numerous claims of your phase of 'tipping point' they keep financing the club. Plenty of good and its investment for now and the future going forward. It's not just about the short term but long term. Firstly Michael O'Neill had a lot more time there to turn it around. Warnock took over Boro who werent in the bottom 3 when he took over. When Mowbray took over here we had 15 games to go and he got 22 points. The problem was Coyle and his awful record here. Mowbray delivered what his objective was. Promotion was delivered. There that term of 'happy clappers' instead of accepting other people views who want to back Mowbray. I can accept that you want a change without any insults.

Look at comments made when Mowbray took the job. He was offered the job that Wednesday morning after Coyle sacking on Tuesday. Now unless you have evidence otherwise then we were stick to what we know as fact -

How has they been cutbacks in medical and Physio departments? What cutbacks have been in the training ground? Look at investment made in video technology on the training ground? Then players can look at their performance on the training days and match days. -

Improve training infrastructure? Can you explain further what you mean by this? On drill the defence? Quite likely half of the back line wont be here next season? What happens if we dont have players in the current squad to play the style the new guy want? Until the summer window for example -
Well Mercer, if you want to give up then that's down to yourself. I wont be. We arent in a mess at all. Mowbray has put a proper football infrastructure in place, proper football recruitment and Scouting departments in place plus data analysis department. Plus with our under 23's and 18's teams developing and being invested every year our future is bright. 4 years of mediocrity? Really? Look at how long Leeds were down to Championship and Forest are still down here in this league. A team Clough won 2 European cups with. It took Sheffield United 5 years to get of League 1. Mowbray got us up at the 1st attempt from league 1 despite you want him out. The next paragraph you reply to me with quite alot, why keep repeating yourself? I'm not bothered what you think of Mowbray. IMO, Mowbray is a honest, full of integrity and trustworthy man.

Yes you have spent hours over the last few weeks posting a road map and ideas for after Mowbray. You have posted some good ideas and thoughts. But JH, has been posted by Kamy that Venkys are happy with Mowbray as manager and aren't looking to make a change. Have Venkys thought about Mowbray's successor? nope. Waggott? maybe so or maybe not. But is it within his remit to appoint new manager or recommend the sacking of a manager? Look at what happened to Paul Hunt after his letter leaked? sacked within days

If we appointed Boothroyd as Mowbray successor this messageboard would be in meltdown within days of his appointed. Cooper impressed the Swansea board with his interview and knowledge plus the level of detail presentation in his interview. He has done really well at Swansea. McCarthy last promotion from this league was 13 years ago around a similar time to Mowbray. He only lasted 9 games in last job before he was sacked. I agree on this point that we shouldn't limit our search. There is around 4 or 5 managers I would interview from within the Britain. I'm not sure about any Foriegn managers as I don't follow any of it anymore including UEFA club competitions due to no interest. But if we were looking to appoint a manager/head coach from overseas I would want a Sporting Director/head coach structure. Many Overseas head coach are used to being in charge of the first team and tactics whilst a sporting director take charge of signings, contracts, etc. alot of clubs employed Sporting Director now. Look at successful the structure at Norwich has and is currently working. No its doesn't lead to players being signed above the head coach if the Sporting director and head coach are in line with the way the team will play and the type of players needed. Most European clubs have them now and alot of British clubs are following suit now. Its a route I think we should consider after Mowbray leaves but it requires the owners to be in sync with in. Venkys have had Shebby, Paul Senior and Simon Hunt in sort of sporting director roles but the owners have never committed to it. -

at this stage no! I have said give him until end of the season and review from there. How many of us would have been recommend the England under 17's manager for the Rovers job when he got the Swansea job? Just imagine if Rovers appointed Adrian Boothroyd the England under 21 manager as Mowbray successor. Would you be happy with the appointment? Yes Norwich did appointed Farke but the man behind the scenes pulling the strings is their sporting Director Stuart Webber who put alot of behind the scenes infrastructure in place and training ground improves aswell as appointed Farke in the 1st place. Without Webber Norwich wouldn't have their success under Farke just like Wagner at Huddersfield who Webber appointed. Would you look to appoint Sporting Director and have Sporting Director/head coach structure? Its worked for Norwich and other clubs. Here a couple of questions for you to answer, If you were in charge of finding Mowbray successor what would your criteria be for the next appointment and would you look to appoint Sporting Director then allow him to bring head coach or would you appoint a manager? Also would you look for people to apply for the job or would you head hunt for the successor? Last question, would you bring in/listen to agent who offer a manager like a Wolves or Reading situation or ourselves seem to have done? Thanks in advance for answering those question -
The Future of Watching Rovers
chaddyrovers replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
if we were top 2 and good form yes I would be happy but it still wouldn't be the same as being there in stadium and watching live with friends at Ewood Park and some away grounds. But I missed being at Ewood Park there in my normal seat. After being a season ticket holder for so long you get used to watching your team in that specific way and clearly it something you enjoyed doing. watching or listening from home on a regular basis isn't the same, I guess its easier if you are used to watching your team from home or mostly on TV cos thats the way you are supporting your team. -

Harsh in his opinion but according to the rules it technically sent off cos Armstrong was going one on one with keeper and Brereton in support -
I would have appointed Bowyer and Lambert. Appleton is doing a good job at Lincoln and I hope takes them up. I think Appleton would have done a good job if he had stayed longer here and Shebby wasnt around. When Berg was appointed I wanted Holloway to be appoint. But even going back to when Souness was appointed I wasn't sure about his appointment tho I did enjoyed his Sky punditry at that time. He won my over time and give me 2 great Rovers memories Hughes was someone I wanted so was very happy with his appointment, Ince appointment was the wrong one from day one. said that at the time. Allardyce appointment at that time was the right one and 18 months I was happy with him but after hearing he wanted out to coach in the middle East didint sit well with me and then I felt his negative football wasn't going to develop players like Hoilett, Olsson and Kalinic going forward. Wasn't against Berg appointment but he made a massive mistake by not bring in his own staff and he paid for that. When ever we have to appoint Mowbray's successor, we need a proper search and not limited to certain people from certain list.

His data analysis team would have seen it tho just our seen the Armstrong chance. So why did our coaching team complain at the linesman and the 4th official as the commentary said they did when being told that he was on side -
oh well. He has been the best managerial appointment along with Lambert Venkys have made since being here.

Yes he has been gone a long time from management but would he willing to drop to the championship and get a team promote if he could. Also who would be on his coaching staff as alot of regular coaching staff are in work already. People say no to Johnson but does he want to manager or just he see himself as coach and developing players same old names that have mention on here for years by fans. Cowley would be on my shortlist if we had vacancy and no restrictions with not being with a certain agents. -
is it?
