  1. Plenty of good quality experience players we can sign from within those age bracket I suggested I would get rid of Bennett and Johnson. From reading Bennett social media post on Saturday evening I took it he is leaving. Have you seen it? I can see him wanting to be home all the time instead of staying away from home days a week. Losing Evans, Downing and Holtby(who was fit enough to warrant a new contract) is no big miss and we need better and players who will be fit for most of the games next season Of Course its makes plenty of sense to sign players from within that age bracket. We need new players who we can develop and have experience in this league or other quality leagues from within that age bracket and give them 3 or 4 years contract and build a good quality squad under a new manager/head coach that can improve next season and hopefully get us promoted in 2 seasons from this league
  2. That's why his possession based game when never work. I don't know the complete story to be honest and whether Stoke are trying to move him on this summer and looking to move him on or his agent is offering him to clubs. Who knows. But would I sign him? No I wouldn't. I wouldn't be signing a 30 year old player in this window but looking players age between 21 to 28 years old. I think what we need a good solid defensive midfielder who will protect the back 4 between the age of 24 to 28 and maybe another depending on who the manager is, how we will play tactically and formation wise.
  3. Stoke still have a massive wage bill there so I imagine they want to reduce it whilst allowing Michael O'Neill to sign own players on lesser wages. I don't know what wages Clucas is on but I don't see them fitting within our wage budget or Mowbray tactical approach. He not someone I think we should be signing
  4. If Mowbray remains as manager for next season which isn't certain then I don't see how Clucas fits into this Mowbray's obsess with playing this possession based game. ,
  5. Rovers after Stoke midfielder Sam Clucas https://the72.co.uk/234646/blackburn-rovers-among-championship-clubs-keen-on-stoke-citys-sam-clucas/
  6. was it cert when Travis came into the first team? I was a big fan of him based on under 23's performance I think they will add to the first team squad but we will only ever know when they play for first team
  7. I believe the players I have mention are good enough for the Championship standard. I remember saying when we were in League one under Mowbray that Lewis Travis should be breaking into our first team squad and will become a massive player for us. He is one of the first names on the team sheet. I enjoyed watching the under 23's and 18's pre pandemic and I cannot why until we are allow back in. any suggestion who this manager/head coach could be
  8. The videos Ive seen of him, a detailed scouting report that I read on him last summer that someone did, Plus speaking to a couple of following Rovers fans who watch him a fair bit. He is just one of a few suggestions I have
  9. Maybe he could be worth a look. But think Shankland could be good signing but I not a follower of Scottish football. Thats why our Recruitment department comes into play and will hopefully have a few names of we could target to replace Armstrong with
  10. No we won't. I want to see us bring through more and more under 23's players into the first team and we need a manager/head coach who will to this.
  11. Rumours is he is off to Rangers or to a club in Turkey. Can't see us being able to afford his wages either and not someone I want us to sign. I rather go for Lawrence Shankland from Dundee United or Cauley Woodrow from Barnsley. Looking at Bennett's social media post after today game I got the impression he was leaving the club. I wouldn't offered new terms to Johnson or Bell. Its will be interesting who we appoint as the new head of recruitment and whether that person will be more data focus then before. Appointing a new manager/head coach is a must. must be first business of the summer and done by end of May
  12. yet we have no sub striker on bench today or last few games. Why do we need so many midfielders on bench. We need 2. not bloody 4 or 5. Play Burns from the start with Armstrong and Brereton as front 3 with the 3 midfielders we started with Whitehall on bench and start Pike inplace of Nyambe. McBride on bench.
  13. I got up for the second half after a night shift. I wish Huddersfield had gone down instead of Wycombe. I agree we need to get rid of all the passengers like Johnson, Evans, Bennett to go. Then we need to decide how we want to go as a club whether we want to bring through more under 23's players under a manager/head coach who will play them with a few signings and get them experience to be good enough to challenge in a couple of season. Or we bring in a manager who will use the Armstrong's money to reinvest in signings that can get us top 6 next season
  14. very disappointing and frustrating season under Mowbray when you think that we are 5th highest scores in the league but still conceded far too many goals. far too inconsistent results wise.
  15. Rotherham lack 3 or 4 championship quality players. If their had a championship quality striker than they would have stayed up. Lewis Wing was a good loan signing for them. I expect them to win league 1 next season under Paul Warne On Rooney and Derby's season. I think its been a complete mess off the field and its affect the players there. But their recruitment last summer was poor and Cocu's poor start cost them. these takeovers that failed are a problem also. Rooney needs to get his recruitment right this summer. Listening to his post match interview, Rooney sounded like he wants the takeover sorted and start recruiting players. Expect a overhaul of that squad there.
  16. Well they would have been part of the 18 man squad. Evans, Downing, Johnson, Bennett wouldn't have been on the bench for the last few games. Burns could have play left side of front 3 with Armstrong and Brereton in a couple of games. Wecpould have play a front with Armstrong with McBride or Burns in front 2 Whitehall could have started today with Travis and Buckley today. Pike play instead of Nyambe as previously mention
  17. In the last few games was the time to play a few of the under 23's like Pike, Whitehall, Burns and McBride for me. Brereton is better in wide role in front 3.
  18. @oldjamfan1 @Mercer @Paul Mani any updates on Mowbray's future or further news you can post? thanks in advance guys
  19. Well we see over the coming days and weeks what happens with Mowbray future.
  20. I would have play Burns or McBride with Armstrong today in a front 2
  21. I would agree that Both Elliott and Harwood-Bellis have been good signings. Similar to when Harrison Reed was here but I do agree with you that we shouldn't have too many. But we do need to develop our own players and a manager who is brave enough to play them when our 2 first choices are out like the right back situation
  22. I think Harwood-Bellis have been good loan signing and maybe Mowbray should have signed him in the Summer instead of Injury prone Ayala. But I do think we need to develop our own young players and I don't see why Pike, Burns or McBride wasn't given a few opportunity towards end of the season. Carter has developed at Burton and been playing really well there. Hopefully he can play his part in the first team next seaon
  23. I think you are crazy Bbrovers2288 thhat you are happy to see Armstrong go this summer
