  1. Mowbray questions Walton's decision making https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18546751.walton-claims-foul-rovers-boss-questions-decision-making/ He deffo wasn't foul for first goal. He hit Tosin Adarabioyo..
  2. As we discussed Bennett was playing there as 4/5th option cos of 3 injures to players who would play there before him and I didn't want to move Downing from the deep playmaker role where he played so well against Bristol City. I didn't mention Bennett poor performance cos alot of posters had already posted comments. no point keep repeating the point. #I thoughtt Downing was poor in the deep playmaker role. Yes Travis was shining light and was he went off we miss him. Just like we missed Evans again. on Brereton, he is getting better and looking better. its small steps but before the lockdown he had zero confidence. It will be interesting to see his team on Tuesday night at Barnsley
  3. I would have played Armstrong as I said all week and in the match thread today. Is he 100% fit?
  4. really? We played 4-3-3 with Downing as deep playmaker like last week
  5. Good win for Warnock at Boro. restore players to their proper positions like Howson back to centre midfield. Hull City had a good chance to win and blown it twice at Birmingham, Huddersfield into the bottom 3 tonight and play Forest tomorrow. Didnt realised Stoke City were so far down the league
  6. we didnt play any strange tactics today.
  7. I thought we were poor attacking. no Creativity. Downing and Rothwell poor which was a shame as I feel it was a perfect chance for Rothwell. I am a fan of him but he just lacks belief himself this season. Its annoying. Gallagher poor, had a good chance with a header and put it over, Samuel and Armstrong had 1 chance but thats was it. Expected alot better from us after last week. Brereton and Travis shining light. Davenport did more in his cameo this Johnson did in 28 mins. Walton wasnt fouled in their 1st goal as he was claiming but hit his own man of Adarabioyo. Wigan were nothing special just a very basic standard team and players. Should have been beating this lot. going to know 15 points in next 7 games to have any chance of playoffs. Hoping for a much better performance on Tuesday at Barnsley at 6pm kick off.
  8. 4-3-3 Walton Nyambe Lenihan Adarabioyo Bennett Travis Downing Rothwell Gallagher Holtby Brereton
  9. Well yes cos I would let William's go instead as I said before which you miss! So no reply to this again isnt that going to more expensive to find a cheap replacement when Bell is on about 5k a week at best(I guess) but a new signing would probably cost more when you factor in wages, agent fee, player signings on fee. Also when did I say loads of signings? Another comment without any evidence of me saying this by yourself again. More BS!
  10. Replace Bell on the cheap? isnt that going to more expensive to find a cheap replacement when Bell is on about 5k a week at best but a new signing would probably cost more when you factor in wages, agent fee, player signings on fee. I have said we need sign a full back. We also have a young left back coming through who probably isnt ready for championship football next season but a loan move next season where he is playing regular then he would be ready for the season after. Rovers had a club option to extend Bell's contract for 1 year, more likely at the same wage so no extra cost on budget. loads of other signings? I have just said around 5 or 6 signings this summer and their positions(2 keepers, 2 centre backs and 1 full back plus possible winger).. is that loads? other posters have said 10. surely that's loads I would let Williams go and use Carter or Maglorie as 4th choice and development them.
  11. very disappointed Armstrong isn't starting as the main striker today AND Evans being injured I would expect it to be 4-3-3 with Travis, Downing and Rothwell in midfield 3 with Gallagher on the right, Holtby has the false 9 role and Brereton on the left
  12. Relaxing FFP rules would means we wouldn't have to sell a key player or 2 Of course FFP rules or salary cap has an impact on the point you are making tho on next season budget. Extending Bell by 12 months covers us for next season whether he is 1st or 2nd choice. You mention a cheap left back but would he be any cheaper than extending Bell's contract for 12 months? when you factor in wages, player signing on fee and agent fees and possible transfer or loan fee involved. I wouldn't expect us to be signing players for millions like Gallagher or Brereton but I would say we need possible 5 or 6 sensible signings in the summer in terms of 2 keepers, a full back, 2 centre backs and possible 1 winger. whether its a 3 or 4 permanent signings and 1 or 2 loans.
  13. is Morgan Fox any better than Bell? Was very poor against us when we beat them 5 nil. The points you are overlooking every time with regards to next season's budget is currently we don't know what EFL are doing in terms of FFP rules being relax and is this salary cap being introduce next season plus when is next season starting and when will transfer window open and close. All these unknowns which every time you failed to acknowledge need to be sorted first
  14. Well like I said before how you can arrange a budget when the EFL havent decide whether FFP rules will be relax or salary cap come in or when next season will start? Which you have overlooked! So you need to know who this before setting any sort of budget for next season? You would like to think its could be done this summer by Skype due to the pandemic. It's the way Venkys work and they arent going to change cos we think they should. The reasons you arent interested in other clubs is that no other clubs knows their budget for next season until the things I mentioned above are agree and in place. Manager and recruitment teams of clubs will have different lists with players on but no one is commit until they know the rules and financial restrictions in place. You cant sign a replacement for Bell if we didnt exercise the club option in contract currently as the window isnt open. We have 8 games to go and very good chance of playoffs.
  15. which Championship clubs are signing players to pre contract for next season? when is next season even starting? do we have a start date? Financial position of the club? when has the club been struggling? The owners have the money to fund the club as they have been doing for years and investing in our academy and seeing players coming through that system into the 1st team
  16. Most clubs wont know their budgets for next season. Is the EFL bringing in wage cap for all clubs or relaxing the FFP rules or what the owners positions is currently which you overlooked every time. The club has exercise the club option in Bell's contract. Has his wages gone up cos of this contract extension? I would say no. You complained that you don't want Bennett at left back so surely its a good idea to extend his contract then? You cant have it both ways. I haven't been echo chamber at all roversfan99 but if I am then you cant have any argument in yourself being an echo chamber after every player links you dismissed it every time and then wrong the info when all the report has said we have an interest in the player according to their source not that we are deffo signing them. Dreams is right when he says you are hyper critical of every player. You rate Adarabioyo or Downing? Cos last summer you said it was waste signing Downing as he was too old and his stats was awful. You wrote Adarabioyo off based on his game time at WBA last summer and the role he played there which was out of position. Bell has played 77 times for Rovers scoring 3 goals and 2 assists just to answered you point about him not assisted in goals. Just to compare to other players who have the full back positions, Williams during his time here has 5 goals and 12 assists, Nyambe has 3 assists during time here in the 1st team, and Bennett has 19 assists and 9 goals in his time here even tho he hasn't always played at Full Back. on your points about Mowbray doesnt even his budget, so which manager in the Championship knows his budget for next season? Can you name any?
  17. Thanks for sharing that Joe. Very damning on the McLaughlin link. And his agent.
  18. But that's doesn't stop you drawing up targets list for positions we need new signings in whichever league and whatever our budget is. Read the story Stuart then you wouldnt have asked that question!
  19. What I saying on here this week that Mowbray and Rovers recruitment team will be drawing up different transfer targets for different scenarios/budgets @roversfan99
  20. We signed him 3 years ago. And barely played for us. Got to go after the season
  21. I rather have Bennett at left back with Downing in centre midfield. I am not moving our best player from his best and his more effective role for our team to left back.
  22. I dont want to move our best player in deep playmaker role to left back as you suggest you would. Hope you understand the reasons why. It's far from ideal Bennett at left back but its 4th choice so its needs must. Dont think Holtby is in the same class as Downing in terms of playing that deeper playmaker role. Why would you play Armstrong in wide role unless Graham is on the pitch? Armstrong is our best striker and he scores goals. Play him up front. Why change from the 4-3-3 that's worked so well last week. If you want Rothwell to replace Gallagher then Rothwell surely has to play the right side?
  23. The article says assessing the player not that we are signing him. Rovers recruitment team will be looking and scouting players. All because you are scouting players or link to player doesn't mean you will sign every player.
