Surprised to see Litherland in JD gym in Blackburn the other day. Should his rehab not be supervised by our medical staff at Brockhall? Mind you, there's probably no room based on the number of injuries.

A little titbit I've heard from a good source on Cantwell. As captain he fronted up 3 of the first team squad for going out the Friday before a match despite it being a club rule. Of the 3 in question one has since moved, one is linked with a move and one doesn't move (I'm sure you can work out who they are). Apparently they were all sanctioned financially (5k from what I have heard) and there is a bit of resentment towards the captain from them because of it. Having said that, he is loved and respected by the rest of the dressing room and is a top bloke.

Barnsley very interested in Litherland but probably scuppered (for now) due to his injury. Don't be surprised if that happens in the summer for a few hundred grand.

Even if there aren't other champ clubs interested I'd stay at Barnsley if I was him

With what appeared to be (at least) 1 soft tissue injury today for Litherland you really do have to question our strength and conditioning team within the medical department. The number of players sidelined by pulls and strains suggests these players aren't physically prepared for the rigours of a league season and that's firmly on the S & C team.

Parkinson basically just telling his defenders to go long and win the 50/50s in the final third. Working a treat so far for them due to our inability to compete physically.

I see Gudjonssen has turned into prime Shearer due to his absence. Truth is we didn't really create anything clear cut in the box all night so not sure why there is this assumption we'd have won with him in the side. In fact, the best 2 chances in the game fell to the opposition, if I was a Wednesday fan I'd feel more aggrieved not to win than we do.

You have a go at RF99 for being unrealistic on a squad overhaul with 6 or 7 out and 6 or 7 in and then say you want 6 out and 4 in which firstly, is an overhaul, secondly weakens the squad depth and thirdly is more or less what RF99 was saying!! I'm convinced that if RF99's post had been made by anyone else you wouldn't have bothered responding.

McCann has confirmed that O'Riordan will be returning here in January 'to go into the first team' so there'll be no incomings in that area. Also reckon the only way we bring any strikers in is if we ship Gueye and/or Tyjon out. These fuckers will do the bare minimum and hope for the best.
