  1. I’m not sure he’s as calm behind closed doors as he is in front of a microphone. My belief is that he doesn’t mince his words and will be forthright in his dealings with the muppets that run the club.
  2. Exactly. We will end up being overtaken by a few teams fairly quickly , unless the necessary, quality squad reinforcements arrive within the next fortnight.
  3. Spoiler alert : Don’t build your hopes up. Waggott will currently be ringing the knackers yard in an attempt to deprive a few glue companies.
  4. We are, but it’s like deja vu all over again. If the owners don’t loosen the purse strings, and the three not so wise monkeys in charge of recruitment don’t wake up, we’ll have nothing to play for by the end of March.
  5. Agreed. I think Park was the one who knew his arse from his elbow.
  6. I’m sure I was stood next to you when we lost in 1984 😉
  7. If we tip the local Police off about the hip flasks, they might not get in 😉
  8. Well, yes, you are right, but the first thing I think of , (especially when it's a striker), is, "watch them score the winner". I thought exactly that at the Manor Ground in November, 1984, and I was only 17 🙂
  9. I was there. I’m pretty sure that Billy Hamilton scored the late winner, after our lot were goading him for being an ex - Burnley player. Football fans never learn 🙂
  10. I thought we might be a TV pick, but just relieved that it’s still a weekend game. Forest going to Exeter the following Tuesday is just ridiculous,
  11. To be fair, it obviously helped Owen Beck going there last season. Agreed. Owen Coyle once got a team promoted to the Premier League……
  12. Ok, how much would it take to keep you all away? 😉
  13. Maybe he just wasn’t ready when he was at Bolton? We’ve seen that on several occasions, when a very young player looked like a boy in a man’s league.
  14. Delighted with the win, and that, (as well as no new injuries), is what matters. Have to say, that is probably the most amazing non award of a penalty I've ever seen 🙂 You could see our players practically stopped, as they were just waiting for it to be given. The fact we scored so soon afterwards made it even funnier. We would be apoplectic if that happened against us 🙂 Swings and roundabouts.
  15. Mowbray now favourite for the West Brom job.
  16. I hope so, or I’ll be in a spot of bother when the BTP catch up with me 😉 Yes, I’ve just seen a club video and it looks ok. Clear in Blackpool now, too. Foogy when I left Preston. 🤞 for good news when I check the score later on.
  17. Just driven a train from Windermere to Preston, and it was clear until I got to Garstang, when it felt like going into the abyss! 😱 Definitely fog of the “patchy” variety. Can’t make it this evening, but hope it stays clear at Ewood.
  18. No, because it was originally a Saturday game.
  19. if it’s as foggy at Ewood this evening as it is in Blackpool just now, you’ll be lucky to see any players at all.
  20. Perhaps he travelled by train. Any lines heading in the general direction of London are known as the "Up" lines, and vice versa, (okay, I'm probably being kind 🙂 ).
  21. Did Pete Beale not fancy moving to the Midlands ? On a serious note, this is a worrying development.
  22. Agreed, although they said the matches will be played between 7th (Friday), and 10th (Monday), so maybe that was a one - off for the third round?
  23. Decent draw. Hope it’s not the Monday night game, (but fear it will be).
  24. Yes, £115,000 for winning one game, (only £25,000 if we’d lost). You can see why we fielded a strong team.
  25. Welcome to Sunday’s edition of “He’s shit and we don’t want him / Nixon is evil” 😉
