  1. Which is why I think the current circumstances lend themselves more to a wily, experienced manager, rather than our current set up. This is just an ongoing vanity project. That said, I certainly don't blame JDT, and the next Head Coach /Manager is likely to be a downgrade.
  2. This. The powers that be will be happy that we added more value to the squad today. The match day experience at Ewood is now utterly demoralising, and it rubs our noses in it when a full Darwen End is in stark contrast to the rest of the ground. Reasonable effort today, but never laid a glove on them. Predictable.
  3. Good to see we’re giving Leeds fans our oldest rolling stock 🙂
  4. Think we might be lucky with timing. Radar suggests it will dry up from late morning and stay dry during the game.
  5. I've just checked and it's on the public timetable, so isn't a special, as such, more an extra service due to demand. For my employer it's kerching! 🙂
  6. Yes. If you check on National Rail later on this evening, any resulting short term cancellations will have been made for tomorrow. Always a chance of one or two more springing up tomorrow, if anyone goes off sick. The weather may also play a part.
  7. Yellow warning for strong wind has just been issued by the Met Office for tomorrow. Should be fun.
  8. I think the top three are the exception in terms of consistency. We need to score first, or I fear a repeat of Leicester.
  9. I'm undecided about him, but am leaning towards him being inadequate. The circumstances certainly don't help, and I think they make it more appropriate to have a more old fashioned set up, with a savvy manager who can wheel and deal, and knows what he wants. Here, we have an inexperienced Director of Football thrusting random signings on an unhappy Head Coach. Never going to work.
  10. So why the social media fanfare and the cringeful paper throwing video? He was a desperation signing from a middle ranking civil servant, I mean Director of Football, who was still removing the last pieces of egg from his face after January 31st.
  11. Which is exactly why I won’t be renewing my season ticket next season, unless something changes in the meantime.
  12. The jury is out on Broughton. Even if he does prove he knows what he’s doing, it will only work if the owners don’t interfere.
  13. I think JDT reads supporters opinions on social media, because recently he has stressed that both he and the team are ambitious. Unfortunately, as others have alluded to, the club and it’s hierarchy are not ambitious. The club simply isn’t set up to succeed on the pitch, and as yet we haven’t even succeeded in buying low and selling high, (mostly because of stupid owners). It’s futile and talk of us following the lead of the likes of Brighton and Brentford is fanciful. The owners current financial issues make the medium / long term outlook look even bleaker.
  14. I think we will look back in a year’s time and look back at our current placing as highly desirable.
  15. All things considered, I think we are doing as well, if not better, than can be expected. However, it's absolutely clear that we are incapable of winning a match when the stakes go beyond just another three points. Preston - a local derby, and today - the chance to break into the top six, the latest examples. Under this (poor) ownership, this is our ceiling. Anyone who believes otherwise will doubtless be leaving sherry and a mince pie out before retiring to bed on December 24th.
  16. Without question there are extenuating circumstances, but the theme of recent seasons has continued - when there is a bit more riding on a game, we lose.
  17. Unfortunately, it obviously felt more like a cup final for our players, which is why we lost. Let’s see if we can cope any better in a similar atmosphere against Leeds.
  18. After two low key, middle of the table games, we go into this game with the expectation of a win. That brings about it’s own pressure.
  19. I think all the coach related digs were a clue as to what JDT thinks of Waggott. He kept that going for weeks.
  20. If, as you say, you “don’t give a **** about PNE”, you don’t need to mention it. The “all young lads” line is wearing a bit thin, but a couple of decent experienced players coming in would certainly have helped. I work with quite a few PNE fans, and they absolutely were not building it up like it was the game of the decade. As I’ve got older I find the tribal stuff tiresome and predictable, whether it’s coming from our fans or those of another team. I badly want to win games against our local rivals, but am not going to pretend that all their fans are idiots and all ours are paragons of virtue.
  21. Not interested in the tribal crap, but we certainly should not be losing to a team who otherwise look to be In free fall. It’s all in the mind with this Rovers team, and we need to develop the mental strength to win key games. Perhaps we should hire former Rover, Lee Richardson, who is now a sports psychologist.
  22. The next two games provide low hanging fruit, ie low key, low pressure games. These are the games we generally do well in. The real test comes when we play someone above us in the league. We still haven’t broken through in terms of winning pressure games.
  23. Well at least we wouldn’t have to listen to them chanting on and on about another club, rather than their own team.
