  1. No smoke without fire. I think we were definitely interested, but decided not to embarrass ourselves with ridiculously low bids. Venky’s lackey, Suhail, says, “No”.
  2. The young defender at Reading, Schlupp, the Wigan lad and even Bamford all reasonable shouts, one way or another. Now we’re scraping the barrel to the max.
  3. Or in their imagination, perhaps. No doubt the same old story anyway. we can’t / won’t pay the fee.
  4. We’re down to our ‘Z’ list .
  5. Funny that Mercer’s return has coincided with Chaddy’s disappearance. Two sides of the same coin? 😉
  6. Correction : Too tight arsed to make an acceptable bid.
  7. Wasn’t Michael a West Ham fan? I understand he enjoyed blowing bubbles.
  8. Maybe we’ll do something bonkers , similar to loaning Travis out last season .
  9. To be honest, I didn’t really mean that and I was looking more at the contrast between why it still felt good to be a Rovers supporter back then, because the club was run by right minded people. That said, I think your observation is also correct. Back then, when the old transfer deadline day was in March, we never got that player or two to make the difference between being promoted and being also rans. Now we don’t get that player or two to keep us in the hunt in the second half of the season.
  10. Sounds like the three not so wise men are sh*tting themselves. Probably all in Suhail’s secret bunker.
  11. Still trying to work out which is their arse and which is their elbow. Park was the one who knew what he was doing.
  12. I beg to differ, but respect your opinion. Anyway, are we signing anyone today? 😉☹️
  13. When we played Cambridge in the Cup, Telalovic was the worst player on the pitch. All of a sudden, because we are struggling, “We should’ve kept him”. If he’s settled well at his new club, back in his homeland, good luck to the lad.
  14. Just get behind the chameleonic life form FFS! PS Rimmer’s campaign would be more powerful than singing, “I don’t care about Venkys, they don’t care about me”, which would only be more naff if the last line was “Let’s go home for our tea”.
  15. Rosenior and Selles decent enough picks. Anyway, no point hiring a decent manager and then doing everything possible to alienate him.
  16. Over the last nine seasons, Preston have won five times at Ewood. We’ve won once. Their current form is miles better than ours.
  17. Millwall and Hull were towards the end of December, ie at the beginning of the slump. Watford are also near the top end, so not sure that can be described as “very winnable”. It’s not so much about who you lose to , but whether those defeats are isolated or not.
  18. Alas, I don’t share your confidence. Preston’s recent form is exactly the opposite of ours, and they have a great record at Ewood in recent seasons. Very much hoping I’m wrong, of course.
  19. For some reason I’ve got it in my head that’s Mercer’s ‘X’ account.
  20. Makes me think of the 80s again. We had bugger all money, but because we were run by well meaning people who cared about the club, it was easy to stick with the club through thick and thin. This is very different, and a lot of supporters reach a tipping point where they think, “what’s the point?”. I’ve been going since the 70s, but this latest January window meltdown may well prove my tipping point when it comes to deciding whether to renew next Summer.
  21. Yes, we did have an advantage in that we were playing on the Friday night, which gave us a head start. We then sabotaged that by rearranging the QPR game on 4th February, which was also ridiculous considering the injury situation.
  22. I was thinking much the same. I hope he stays, but if he resigned it might wake up a few of our supporters who either still don’t get it or in denial.
  23. They don’t want anyone rocking the gravy train.
  24. Not for much longer. Only a matter of time until they are in the Championship, and they will have a much better chance of promotion to the Premier League than us.
