  1. IF we score first, you never know. I’m not so optimistic, and think their confidence, form, home advantage and an extra day’s rest all point to an Ipswich win.
  2. I wager we will be saying that on a good few occasions this season, and not just after the first half. Both sides had players missing. Our squad is unable to cope.
  3. I watched the pre-match routine where the players take shots at goal. The number of times the target was missed altogether was an omen for the game. You can play all the pretty football in the World, but it counts for nothing if you can't put the ball in the net.
  4. I’ll be happy if we stay on it, because that is as good as it’s going to get. The better teams will pick us off more often than not. The striker situation is ridiculous and we have too many small, lightweight players.
  5. It's a lot better than it used to be many years ago, (a short spell of heave rain and that was that), but we've had one or two more than that Boxing Day game a few years ago called off. Can't see any problem this evening as the weather has greatly improved this afternoon.
  6. The Sun is already out in Blackpool and the forecast and radar are much better for the rest of the day.
  7. I rest my case, your honour 😉 I was brought up in a PNE catchment area, and worked in Preston for several years , so I was more concerned with them than I was with Burnley. I knew plenty of North End fans. I don’t want to see them on top of the League, but I wouldn’t classify any founder member of the Football League as “tin pot”.
  8. Oh dear, cue several pages of how we definitely don’t care about Preston 😂
  9. Very impressive from Lenihan, scoring whilst trying to steal a Sheffield Wednesday shirt. Meanwhile, Buckley is invisible, (no change there then).
  10. To be expected from a second hand car salesman. The shirt sponsor another good example. The guy's head is in the gutter.
  11. There is also the unpalatable possibility of him being tempted elsewhere when sacking season begins.
  12. The Head Coach has been selecting him so, either way, he’s going to be missed. Personally, I’d go with the new lad and see how he gets on.
  13. I know Gallagher isn’t the best in the air, but our squad lacks height. It’s a disadvantage to play with very little height in the side. By his standards, he’s had a decent start to the season. We now have to chuck a young player in and hope he swims. Cheers Venkys.
  14. I don’t rate Gallagher, either, but that only further highlights our lack of depth, ie he is as good as we’ve got.
  15. This is where the lack of our depth in our squad will hurt us. We now have a choice between two strikers who are still learning their trade.
  16. I think it’s more a case of a player who couldn’t head a ball to save his life. It’s a good, if somewhat scary watch. We will have to take the rough with the smooth, because I suspect the better sides will fill their boots. Will help if Telalovic settles in quickly.
  17. A very good analysis. Very pleased with the win, but we are skating on the thinnest of ice with the lack of depth in the squad. Every time a first team regular goes off injured it's a worry, especially with two more games within a week. The new striker is going to have to be a very quick learner.
  18. and please make it Yorkshire, with Waggott as CEO. That would be comedy gold.
  19. A pale shadow of what they used to be. Nick Harris was on their case in the Kean era, but I doubt he’d be interested now.
  20. Fair enough. I just think it’s pathetic that the local media aren’t taking a closer look at what’s going on, especially as it’s in the public domain that the funding has been cut but no straight forward explanation has been forthcoming. Then a simple internet search provides an explanation.
  21. You should email this to the Lancashire Telegraph. It might wake them up.
  22. I think we have some of the most naive. 3.5 / 10.
  23. Yes, that was ominous. Some people were dismissive of the importance of that trip being cancelled , but history tells us that it’s a key indicator of funds being given to the manager / head coach, Yes, pretty much what I’m saying. It’s Suhail’s power that most supporters don’t realise.
