  1. I agree but with one caveat. JDT is making some bad decisions especially when we are playing away. As someone above said, we need some stability both in terms of selection and positioning. I'm hoping he grows with the team as the season goes on and that he strengthens the squad in January
  2. Whoops I knew I should have checked that! Somehow I had it in my head that we were on 32 points! A reasonable joke ruined!
  3. I didn't notice the thread was quiet at the weekend. Are you expecting fans not to be happy when we lose in this way and not come on here and vent frustration? Would any other fans be the same or Blackburn Rovers fans exceptionalists in this matter?
  4. Over the moon one day, down in the dumps the next---that's following Rovers in a nutshell. But what gets me most is not losing but the manner of it. Games against teams below us and we simply don't turn up. Its not like were unlucky in a nail-biting 1-0 loss. Precious points there for the taking from a team way below us and in all sorts of trouble and we can't cash in on it. Doing way better than I thought we would but you wouldn't put your house on us finishing even top 6 would you?
  5. I think its impossible to be right or wrong at this point. We'll only know when it happens. Just to elaborate, nearly a year ago I was adamant that we should not sell Rothwell to Bournemouth because it would undermine our promotion campaign! Then came that run of 17 games without a win and my reasoning became utterly redundant! Similarly, I thought we could be in the deep stuff this season after losing 3 regulars for free. Yet we are not and arguably a more convincing promotion hope than a year ago. So, I continue to put forward my opinion but I don't feel as adamant about it as I used to. Humility has come late in life!!
  6. We have to be realistic. If someone like City, Utd etc offered him £100,000 a week and rising, he's off, like we all would. All we can hope for is that he plays well for us for the next 3/4 years and helps us to promotion and we then get a hefty transfer fee for him, hopefully to spend. The key to keeping him as long as possible is periodic revisits of the contract.
  7. Good grief, how would they feel if we played him?!
  8. Yea that's absolutely right. Watch any corner that's repeated from a different camera angle and they're all at it. So hard for a ref to watch everyone at the same time and to see who's holding who. Attackers do it too! I think the refs know they can't see it all so they let it go.
  9. If Coventry forfeit, surely all their results will be wiped out and they'll be dropped from the League? That's why the authorities will make sure the game is played somehow even if its behind closed doors. On second thoughts the fixture could be moved though to another date?
  10. Sad to see Buckley struggling. I imagined he would be a mainstay of our midfield this season and we'd be fighting Premier League clubs to retain him. Can't take anything for granted in football Bucko, time to take stock.
  11. Yea,like that Hull game last season when we were on a roll.
  12. He has done outstandingly well surely? Way better than competent imo.
  13. We always knew he was no Alan Shearer but most of us knew that playing him centrally was the best chance of getting something out of him. Almost everybody but Mowbray.....
  14. I've learned my lesson from Brereton. I'm not confident in writing off any young player now, however poor he looks to be.
  15. At least we're not letting contracts run down these days.....
  16. We are so heavily dependent on Kaminski not missing a game. That's rather scary. We are doing much better than I thought we would. In particular great work to sort out that defence, which I really worried about before the season.
  17. We have a good record against Birmingham over the years. But somehow I don't feel confident today. Maybe its because our form is so erratic--are we capable of consistency? This league is wide open for any team that is.
  18. He's still only 28. Would be pretty stupid to see him starring for another Championship club. He should be given a chance to let us see what he can do. He is still the most naturally talented player in the squad. Have injuries ruined his career permanently? We simply do not know.
  19. He misused Reid. Underrated him.
  20. You really think most of us have turned on Mowbray now he's gone? We worked him out a long time before that!
  21. That's so dependent on Brereton though. We really will miss him if/when he goes.
  22. Eh? Who did that? Didn't we win our first 3 games--convincingly?
