He could still be paid a high wage relative to his team-mates but a low wage for what he's worth now. We don't know. The question still remains, at that time in our development, could we have spent £7M better and the answer is "yes we could". To have him for all this time and get virtually nothing from him until what I suspect is his last season does not mean this was a good buy. Certainly not in football terms. Good for Venkys though.

As others have said, if you want to maximise prices for a big away following like Preston, by all means do so but protect your own so as we get the biggest crowd possible to roar on the team. It can be done eg sell 3 tickets for any 3 home games which include this "blockbuster." Or have a membership/part season ticket scheme £ 15 per season allows you 30% off any 5 home games etc etc. Where there's a will, there's a way. Haven't heard from the Fans Forum for a while---isn't this their terrain? Have they got involved in this issue?

Personally the thought of a statue of Jack sharing space with one of Mowbray fills me with horror.

Not to contradict you at all but remember quite a few Rovers fans live in the south, helps particularly with mid-week games.

I think anyone who stays in a managerial job for so long, with such dreadful results till now is truly a legend---like Dick Turpin!

I think the answer to that is obvious and stated so any times. In a nutshell its the quality of the football and the money wasted on players who shouldn't have been here. Add tactics, tinkering, subs etc and he's been the complete package. That's his share of the blame accounted for. Can't deny things have been much better this season.

We had impetus from that League 1 promotion but he dissipated it. Those next 2 seasons were diabolical. And if you don't agree---look at the attendances, fans have voted with their feet.

Imagine what we could achieve if we had a good manager is another way of looking at it. For example was it a wise decision to pay good money to Boro for Pears? I fear we might be about to find out. We always said on here that the young lads we have should have figured over the old uns he kept picking.

Can't he just run that down and go for nothing? Don't other clubs know that too? The answer is to give him a whopping pay rise in return for a clause in the new contract which allows him to go for a whopping fee with a % sell-on fee.
