  1. Exactly, anyone who thinks the alternative will be an improvement is delusional. We know what to expect from recent history---the stadium, the pitch, the team, next---the training facilities!
  2. Bolton---16000+ attendance at the weekend compared to our 10000+. Does that give you a clue? Even Preston had 12000+. You're flogging a dying horse mate. Fans have made their mind up.
  3. it seems to me we have 3 " No 10's"----Dack,Rothwell and Dolan and we can't play them all in the same team yet each, individually, are worthy of selection. Elsewhere we have little cover at all. Mowbray's random signings.......
  4. A few observations: The centre-back pairing of Ayala/Lenihan was solid, how I wish they could play every game. Mowbray says he doesn't believe in formations but he certainly believes in 2 big blokes lumbering up and down the flanks with a little bloke in the middle! Defies belief. Dolan will be eaten for breakfast by centre-backs this season. Butterworth was a revelation when he came on, presumably he'll be coached out of driving forward and be reminded to watch videos of Cory Evans. Why can none of our forwards shoot? We could have won by 3 at least. Through on goal and we scuff it like a seven year old. 4 bookings in what was not a dirty game. Swansea have had time enough to cut out the Premier League play-acting.That first-half booking of Pickering was as bad a refereeing decision as I have ever seen! A perfect tackle in my book, the sort that inspires the rest of the team. Finally we won't play against a defence as bad as that one very often. Let's hope and pray their keeper has no Boro connections! Still we won and that's what matters. I'd forgotten what it was like to get 3 points from the first game of the season.
  5. I knew it wasn't going to go well when he got rid of Brad.
  6. The almost entire LT readership?
  7. If they read the LT comments they'll confirm they're doing a great job!
  8. Its inexcusable though to buy an established Premier League club and allow it to be run into the ground by neglect. To imply this isn't their fault because they've left it to others who aren't fit to discharge their obligation, does not free Venkys from blame. On the contrary it amplifies it.
  9. Owners give the Club away to a local consortium with fan involvement. They save £20M a year, we get our Club back. Win-Win! Yes,I'm dreaming!
  10. We'll be getting any young players on loan we can now from Premier league clubs----whether they're any good or not, simply to make the numbers out and to distract from the fact we haven't signed anybody. They won't be significantly better than our youngsters but they'll keep them out.
  11. Let's pray the Ashes tour doesn't go ahead!
  12. We are never able put out our first eleven, even if Mowbray knew what it was.
  13. I can't calculate how many times I wrote that a decade or so ago!! Its time has come!
  14. WELL I'M IN UTTER DESPAIR! I don't think the reading on this site has ever been as desperate as it is now. Based on what we can assess at this point I think we'll be in Div2 in 3, maybe 4 years with crowds of 3000 to 4000 and in administration in 5. If a local buyer/consortium comes along and we start over again from the bottom as AFC Blackburn Rovers, it can't come soon enough for me.
  15. I think there's a fair chance it does!
  16. The point is its not in our hands is it? He holds all the cards .Never should have been bought in the first place---nothing happened for 2 years! But now it might his contract is running down!! Brilliant--you could't make it up.
  17. Well, if he is, its taken 3 years to get there and his contract is up in a year, so he could bugger off for nothing. Does that represent 7M well invested to you?
  18. What happened to the gradual rebuilding plan which would take us back to the Premiership? Clearly we are desperately looking around for loans before the first match!
  19. 212 pages but no signings! Is this a record?
  20. The future's shite for blue and white. 😬
  21. Listening to Tracy Crouch on Today---a Tory MP I do have time for--our club would be in the sights of the independent Overseer she longs to appoint. Let's hope the Premier League doesn't start donating to Tory coffers and Johnson listens to her.
  22. However, if he plays well for them we can make the obvious conclusion!
  23. You really think the rest of us aren't aware of that? They could be trying to teach the peasants a lesson for throwing snowballs at them for all I know. It shouldn't be allowed to be this way---foreign owners treating a community asset like a plaything. For them it means nothing, for us it means everything.
  24. The bad run was way longer than the good run and I know where I'd put my money this time round.
