  1. Sorry, I should have written “much” of your time.
  2. Well that's very bad news if we don't make it this season! I don't see why it would be 6 seasons at all. We were always knocking on the door in the late 80's early 90's. I don't expect us to make the play-offs this season but I certainly don't expect us to wait 5 or 6 years. Club would be dead by then. If we have to wait that long under this managership, we should get another.
  3. Agree with others. Good No 2. Sloppy goals would be critical in a promotion run-in. If our aspirations only extend to mid-table then fine.
  4. Don't mix loanees and permanent signings together though. They are not the same. The whole point of loanees is that, for a short period, you have players well above your usual options. That's not skilled recruitment. In any case we have had loanees who didn't work out eg Palmer.
  5. Dack was a great buy but , like Maddison, he had no Championship experience when we signed him. Just like Maddison! You have to make projections about how a player will go in a higher league. If you don't, you will never sign a player from the lower leagues like Vardy! Waiting till he's free sounds OK but isn't it likely there will be intense competition for him in those circumstances.
  6. Why spend most of your time on here slagging off other fans? Another one in same thread: Booing a player because he didn't sign for your club and then heading to social media to say how crap he was baffles me. Some Rovers fans, not unlike other supporter bases, are guilty of this. Same with Patrick Bauer, he's been great for Preston but you'll find quite a few who want to under egg how good he is for them, simply because he didn't sign for us.
  7. Yes quite right, I'd base my assessment of Maddison on this one game and not sign him. I'd prefer a video collage of his best moments. Then I'd offer £7M.
  8. They're really shy?
  9. Must visit a Newcastle site to see how pissed off they are! They thought we got him on the cheap!
  10. Exactly my reaction. Delighted.
  11. I think he was never a winger, he drifted in and out for much of the season. Come good now though! Surely we are not going to judge judge players on one game?
  12. Yes, beat Forest at Forest who beat Leeds at the weekend. A real trap this one.
  13. You said, in reply to me that Chapmen "could have developed" poor character traits, Now its definite is it? Nothing to do with never playing I suppose....
  14. We kicked off early one Saturday and therefore when the whistle went we were in the 6. Once everybody else kicked off we weren't!
  15. straws at clutching
  16. He'd have got more playing centrally, though some of his misses make me wonder even about that!
  17. You can't have it both ways! If TM is such a good judge of people why did he sign a player he won't play because of his alleged character deficiencies?
  18. And Mowbray definitely wouldn't!
  19. Be easier to list whose NOT on it!
  20. It was a reckless gamble and therefore very strange, especially given the parsimony under which the club usually operates.
  21. I said at the time that it was the oddest transfer I could ever remember, so "yes" dark forces must be a factor to consider. In which case, no lessons have been learned (contrary to views expressed on here) and we are in as much strife as ever as a club. Particularly as the debt continues to climb.
  22. At £2.5M a far more realistic gamble than Brereton at £7M!! In my opinion, hardly a gamble at all whereas Brereton was a reckless gamble which has failed miserably. A club like our's should be looking at the best players in League One. Dack hadn't played in the Championship either, I take it you're happy with that signing?
  23. He's thinking about the Champion's League! That will compensate!
  24. He's a manager who's won trophies is Pep. No settling for second with him. Chalk and cheese.
