  1. I don't get this post. You make it sound like its their decision whether they should play much better or not. Surely, if it were within their power, they would have made that decision months ago. Nobody wants to be a failure do they? The fees paid are nothing to do with them either. Why can't we accept that a) we paid too much and b) that constituted poor recruitment by the club? Not their fault but the the idea that they can suddenly make themselves worth what Rovers paid for them is ridiculous. Its a transfer of blame isn't it? PS---I haven't entirely given up on Gallagher, there's some sort of footballer in there somewhere, but the fact remains we have several central strikers on the books and none of them score regularly. Who do you blame for that? I always thought the buck stops with the manager?
  2. In our league 1 season we would have brought Chapman on.
  3. I"ll leave Rothwell out of it because he's not a central striker. The other 3 are meant to be, but even if they were played in that position I don't believe they would score enough goals for us. They are not goal-scorers. Neither is Graham. What a mess.
  4. I don't know that they weren't trying, it was more like they didn't know what to do! Rabbits in headlights-----but playing the mighty Wigan! Laughable. Whatever TM is saying to them before they take the field, its not inspiring them is it? Can't imagine a Mark Hughes team starting like that.
  5. Why didn't Johnson start? Inexplicable after that fine performance at Bristol. He wouldn't have been bullied either.
  6. He seems to think about the next move as the ball approaches. He traps it (usually) then makes a decision. It takes too long, the opposition have swooped!
  7. We won, Gallagher looked OK, Brereton sad. Can't keep starting with 10 men.
  8. It won't.
  9. Spot on with those assessments. Saved me writing them! Hoof-ball from the off. Defence looked very unsettled and hardly made a decent pass all game. Did Williams pass to a Rovers player in the whole game? Great block from him near the end though. Very pedestrian, very predictable, terrible apart from the last 20 minutes when we suddenly realised there were 3 points at stake! Agree on Nyambe and Armstrong was worse. Not his position.
  10. Oh dear me! Sorry! I promise to be more careful in future!
  11. There was no live commentary, there were up-dates as the goals poured in, as best I can remember. It was an 11am KO, quite common then at Christmas/New Year/Easter. And I'm pretty sure it was the only game played at that time of day but still no live commentary!!
  12. Apparently Rovers players were promised a pay rise if the results justified it at Christmas. But the Directors refused and the players revolted. There certainly was no spirit shown in that game and much of it was played in an eerie silence before 29000 fans, who were collectively wondering WTF was going on. Pickering sold not long after that and we never recovered. Not the first time the players and fans were sold down the river by a Board that was really better suited to running a corner shop.
  13. I was listening to the game on BBC radio. Jumping around the room every time another goal went in. Sure we would win the Championship after that!
  14. I agree about the kick-offs, Raya was improving on that front and sometimes was exceptional. I don't think Waltons clearances are anything to write home about.
  15. Leeds at Ewood first season in the Premier League. It snowed and we won! Dramatic scenes.
  16. I would start Graham, by the time he's tired the match could be won! Gallagher looked better at Bristol though imo.
  17. The vast majority of Championship games are very boring I find. Unless your own team is playing, they are not worth the bother. Just one cul-de-sac and back pass after another.
  18. Very clearly implied. No other possible interpretation. Unless you're trying to be mysterious....
  19. We are a man down when we play him, its that simple. He's not even League 1 standard. If we did decide to loan him who'd take him? League2?Conference?
  20. That doesn't actually say he signed for Rovers at 13 though, does it? I've no idea whether he did or not by the way!
  21. I thought he was absolute rubbish. Every time tried to run with the ball his legs got tangled up! Off the ball, he seemed always on the fringe of the action, looking on and wondering what to do. The way he moves is so ungainly, like a colt learning to run. There's a story here but I doubt we'll ever know. Sure he did a couple of good things in the game (who wouldn't?) but he was ineffective for the most part. We've signed some bad ones in the past, but this one, especially at £7M will take some beating. In terms of the fee paid, easily the worst signing we have ever made. Worse than Grabbi, worse than Davies, I'll stop there. And no-one WANTS to see him fail Eddie. Shameful of you.
