Theraya May? (no txt please)

That reads a lot like failure. Its the recruiting team's job to identify their targets and chase them down. We missed out on Bauer too after pursuing him for a year and a half.
-
E? That one isn't but it doesn't wipe out the daft decisions you have alluded to. In truth any manager who didn't tie up Travis long-term is an idiot.
-
Not exactly the A List is it?!
-
But of course you will!
-
ie back to front!
-
You know you're missing the point there! Its about priorities!
-
Then you are deliberately setting up TM to fail!!!----according to your very own words on this MB. Moreover you said it was impossible to do this before the window ended!!
-
You're trying hard but its obvious that, as far as transfer windows go, we do not concentrate on areas of immediate need. I don't see how that statement can possibly be contested. (but it will!)
-
None of those 3 you mentioned are wingers, therefore its not surprising we have a huge hole there! So---a genuine winger who will actually be picked----great! We keep signing players but we don't fill the holes!
-
He was let go because he wanted to go and we needed the money for Gallagher.

A News Now article linking us (and others) with Glen Whelan, released by Villa. Meets all Rovers criteria--free, a mid-fielder and 35 years old.
-
Since he's quitting I doubt he cares! I'll miss him---good poster.
-
Would he then be our top earner?
-
You would think so eh? Waste of scarce resources.
-
I'd like this too.

This is hard to follow. Someone ITK is being attacked by the Miserablists and defended by the Happy Clappers according to one version. Yet I see him being defended by Miserablists! A further complication is that he said there could be up to 5 new signings before the season starts. Now I thought the Happy Clapper position was that anyone advocating 5 new signings was deliberately setting TM up to fail??? I haven't taken part in this debate at all because I don't know what side I'm meant to be on! On a more serious note its churlish to attack someone who seems to know what he's talking about and stupid to drive him off.
-
That's true but surely someone should be in his ear----constantly.

Leave after 80 minutes is my advice!!

You're dangling the possibility of Hanley returning as a cause for optimism when you know full well there is no evidence at all that he will! We all know that if various players we would like Rovers to sign are signed we have cause for optimism! But it won't be that way will it? I could list the names of several players who might be available and might come to us but I won't because its pointless and false. In fact, its highly likely that given his wages, which I don't see Norwich subsidising to the degree that suits us, that they'll be stuck with him or he'll go to a richer club. So, optimism based on known facts or informed speculation=good thing! And vice versa!
-
ie Pune is the stumbling block. Would never have guessed!
-
Relevant to a Transfer thread but nothing to suggest its any relevance to a Rover thread unless you know something I don't?
-
No more moaning on here than anywhere else.Optimism has to be based on reality. I didn't have you down as a Boris type, Philip!

What does Hanley "reappearing" have to do with anything? No sign he is going to re-sign is there? We can all wish for things.... We finished a long way from the play-offs last season with a good run after the possibility of getting there had completely vanished and clubs were often just seeing the season out. And a good thing too because we were nowhere near good enough. Middle of the table this season too I feel unless good defensive signings are made quickly and/or young lads are selected and come good. I honestly feel we are 'stuck" in the middle and are going nowhere fast. We could be in this league for years. As for the club's operating model of "silent running" let's hope it doesn't mean nothing much is happening.
