  1. You seem to overlook the manner in which we have thrown so many points away needlessly. Manager bound to get stick in this situation.
  2. This is a poor reflection on Mowbray. He has been forced to give Travis his chance only because Smallwood is suspended. Travis has taken out the M.O.M. award! Makes TM looks stupid. Let's hope TM recognises the inevitable.
  3. Let's hope that game marks the end of Travis loan speculation.
  4. I'd take him. He is big, tough and ugly and that's what we were hoping for. We'll only see one Mike England in a lifetime!
  5. Glad to hear it!
  6. If its a fitness issue who's to blame? and why should we have a fitness issue? 1) we've had as much time to get fit as anyone else 2) Didn't TM tell us players coming here found our fitness regime tougher than the club's they'd come from? If its a fitness issue some serious questions need to be put to those responsible. Accountability required here. As for the rest of your post we were looking at the play-offs, now we are left with avoiding relegation. Complacency won't fix it.
  7. Remember Doeuf? Carried the ball from defence to beyond the halfway line? Always got a free kick or a thrown-in!! Team had chance to draw breath and reorganise itself. Absolutely invaluable asset especially in the last few minutes!
  8. We won 4-1 in the promotion year 1991-2 at the old Den.
  9. If so, it was easily fixable in July but we didn't do it. Plenty of posters pointed out how we needed strengthening at full-back and centre-back. TM didn't agree, what makes you think he will this time round?
  10. Its minutes 70 to 90 that are a problem for us! I don't want to think about the next 6 games, the way things are going we'll be relegation candidates by then.
  11. In retrospect the summer recruitment was a disaster. We need almost as many players now as we did then. Reed shines out like a beacon. I thought Rothwell was a great addition but TM apparently doesn't. After that----meh! The key areas we all identified were barely addressed. I know people will say TM couldn't solve all the problems in one window, its that he advanced us hardly at all! Reed, the best one, is only on loan, we can expect to lose Dack, not looking good at the moment.
  12. Don't sack him, help him. Strengthen the team around him. Promote Johnno.
  13. I assume that's gallows humour Stuart! I agree with Tyrone above who suggested we promote Johnno to first team duties. Mowbray needs help whether he likes it or not. Its about assessing our weaknesses and playing a line-up that reflects the players abilities rather than continuing to embrace a method no-one seems to understand or be able to buy into. We are going backwards fast and we are lacking in self-belief. Its a far cry from the team that started the season.
  14. We're now highlighting the number of goals we are shipping in but we also don't score many! Conclusion, we have weaknesses all over the pitch. And it isn't simply about replacing individuals with other individuals, its about rethinking the entire set-up. It clearly doesn't work. Championship clubs have sized us up and are picking us off. that includes Preston and Wigan FFS.
  15. We are 14th, that's not halfway! People should remember that. If we lose against Sheff Utd, as most surely expect the slide into the bottom third is on. I don't believe we will be relegated but I've been wrong before! Right now 14th seems an achievement. Very sad after looking like threatening Top 6.
  16. If the site had been around in 1991-2 how would you expect most fans to have reacted? Meltdown wouldn't have been unreasonable when we went from certainties to finish in top 2 to unlikely to be in the play-offs within a few weeks. In fact, as I remember, the fans were stoic and proud in the face of adversity, and, as we all know, their faith was fully rewarded. They trusted the owner, they knew they had one of the best managers in the world. Bit different now!
  17. Its a circular argument. He doesn't play therefore we can't judge him, he's not good enough therefore he doesn't play so we can't judge him fairly. What bit we have seen does not bode well though.
  18. TBF he might have had no choice with foreign recruitment. This could come back to the two audits that were conducted into the club over the summer. Possibly, Venkys have been convinced that the best way to make money on player assets is to buy British. Additionally, perhaps our international scouting system isn't up to it. When I think back to the foreign players its been such a privilege to see gracing our Ewood turf, I feel we and the team are missing out. I have no idea whether my hypothesis is correct or not but it makes logical sense. Anyway, perhaps their experience with Brereton should convince them that its not that simple!
  19. BDS isn't pathetic and has a life so I doubt whether he'll bother! He'd like it to be true though.
  20. "frustrated by his inability to fix our problems" is one way of putting it, failure to see or acknowledge them is another. Tragedy for Chaddy!
  21. The transfer window was hailed a s a piece of master-craft on here at the time."Near perfect" was one comment I remember!
  22. No---I change my mind often but NEVER, EVER would I have advocated giving Mowbray a 6 year extension on his contract. That is just plain dumb. I haven't done any trawling at all, so you can shove your "pathetic no life" stuff up your arse. I just remembered your original post but given your patronising attitude to "older people" I don't suppose that could have entered your head.
  23. Nothing to do with one or two games, we are in a serious slump. Moreover ,the manner of defeat requires serious work.
  24. We aren't too far away from what?
  25. Now that you can't deny what you wrote perhaps you could answer your own question--"why would you specifically say 6 years?" Secondly, since you are so aware of what happens to people when they get older, perhaps you could explain why I, an older man, can remember accurately what you wrote and you can't even remember your own post? Too much sherry?
