So true Stuart, I was hoping we'd make it to January without major injuries to Linihan, Mulgrew or Raya.( No point in worrying about Dack because we won't find another of him in a hurry!) but there must be a chance that we could be without all three of those at once. And to top it off, is Rodwell going to succumb to injury as Sunderland fans warned us he would? Just as well we didn't loan out Travis eh? This might be our salvation and the making of him.

Agree with all that, except on this occasion, with penalty decisions not going our way, 3 centre-backs injured, 2 during the game and down to 10 men with no recognised goalkeeper playing, hanging on was all we had left! But we don't convert enough of our chances. In reality we should have been clear by then. I must say I was impressed by Palmer. I like his ability to stay upright and plough on under heavy tackles. Immense upper body strength. Definitely an asset who should play more often.

No, he shouldn't be given time to play in a position he blatantly isn't suited for as you admit yourself. Points are not irrelevant you know. When he comes on wide we are playing with 10 men and with Rothwell sitting on the bench.

And why didn't he sign a winger? I'm not accepting that Chapman was the only winger available. Even then, Rothwell is way better out wide than just about anyone else we have but he doesn't start him. TM has been great for us but he is not perfect.
