  1. This just isn't true, up until we got relegated we had alot of money and a good team (Until Roy mucked up his own good work) Since we came back up things have changed. Honours? 5th!! Hurah! 6th??!! Woopie. A League Cup??? It isn't the clubs fault but it can't compete, and it's not exciting for the normal 'Joe Public' who need pushing to turn up. Up until 1999 there was always a hope we could achieve great things again. Now great things just aint that great.
  2. The reason is pure and simple... The league is crap... If we have an outstanding season we'll finish 5th... Who wants to pay alot of money to watch games which in the bigger picture mean naff all? It might be a harsh reality to some with their blinkers on but it is true, the EPL is in no way an attractive product. And all those who fought to end the Sky monopoly, that has really come back to bight you on the arse, and extra 10 quid a month, whereas PremPlus was 50 quid a season. That will help crowds no end.
  3. This is boring now. Who's trying to prove what? The fact is McCarthy is a top player, and if he left it would be for a bigger and better club than us, and would leave for more money than we signed him for, and would leave us short of 15-20 league goals. So what's the discussion? The usual brigade who think they are personally owed blood each week just because they turn up. Get a life fellas end enjoy the good times, the harsh reality of the way football is going suggests in a decade or so you'll be wishing for Dickov due to the level clubs like Rovers will be forced to play at.
  4. There is no doubt the undisputed winner should be Simon Grayson; unbelievable job getting a club that has been nothing short of a shambles foe the past 25 years into the Championship.
  5. Good old paranoid Blackburn fans syndrome. McCarthy has never had a 'good game.' Her doesn't play football, he just scores goals, raggy and classy. He won't have a stormer all season, but you can bet your life he's hits double figures by Christmas. Don't start getting on his back ala Lucas Neill etc, there is only one way that will send him.
  6. Oasis influenced by Oasis? Nooooooooooooooo..... Your kidding me!? Bad tribute band would be kindest I could be.
  7. Any semi-modern band you like have the Beatles on their ''family tree'' of influences. That's because they are an amazing band who's music inspires all.
  8. An album of covers perfromed worse than the originals by less talented artists. Thank god for Amazon pre order....
  9. Chelsea at home in the first round of entering the League Cup is without a doubt the best possibly draw. Given an easy route, Chelsea will win any competition, this one included, so to get them now and knock them out increases our chances of winning the cup by about 10-15%.
  10. Only way I would want Sutty back is if it is to play him centre half.
  11. What's the point in finishing 6th? To be the 6th best team in the country is prize enough for me, this silly competition also attracts better players apparently, though I've yet to see evidence of that. I'd rather finish 8th in the league and go out now than get to the quarter finals and finish 13th-15th. We'd probably get more prize money that way too.
  12. This might as well be a pre season friendly in my eyes, as it is a competition we wont win, and the longer we are in it, the worse we will do in the league. With that in mind, 1-0 Rovers, though 3-0 Salzburg wouldn't break my heart.
  13. What sickens me is we could have probably got Duff and Dunn back this summer for about £8m, which isn't bad considering we sold them for £22.5m. Our team with those two in would be first class, almost a 'New Millennium Rovers Dream Team!''
  14. Don't worry about us and our long term grudges. Give it a couple of years and discussion will change to how we should spend the Shearer (Or is that Judas?) money.
  15. You remember incorrectly. In his first full season we were gunning for the title until a catastrophic run from March until the end of the season meant we wound up finishing 6th on the last day.
  16. Calm down John you nutter. You've done very well to completely over react, and even better to point out that losing Bellamy was a blow. Your other points and comments are just as useful, worthwhile and laughable as the thread you've started.
  17. Always amusing when the only response to a thread is by the starter himself!
  18. I think Keane will be a great manager. And if he is, soon, then he'll be touted for the United job too, which can only be good for us.
  19. If Ihad to vote for our player of the season right now, it'd definately be Brett Emerton. What a player. Forget Craig Bellamy for £3.75m, getting Brett to resign is easily Hughes' best piece of business. Now for the hardest bit (Walkersteel) Blackburn End, fitting Brett Emerton into a really easy chant that sounds crap.
  20. I wish our fans weren't so rediculously ignorant. It can be downright cringe worthy reading some of our opinions on our own club. I support Blackburn Rovers. But if I was a professional footballer I'd seriously consider leaving us to join Spurs. Why? Bigger, better and fuller ground. Bigger and better squad (And obviously team), with many more resources to strengthen. Bigger club. London is, IMO, and to many other people, is just one of the greatest places in the world to live. So it's simple really, Mido held out obviously thinking it was possible to do better than Blackburn Rovers. And he was right. End of. Good luck to him, he's a good player.
  21. I thought that, but then I remember a conversation I had with my friend the next day. Imagining I bumped into Eddie Vedder on the Friday, and he said ''James, what would like us to open with tonight,'' I would probably have responded with, ''Oh I dunno Eddie, maybe Go, followed by Animal, followed by Corduroy or something?'' Perfect! And to answer the original question they only played 3 off the new album, Worldwide Suicide, Severed Hand (Oh yes!) and Life Wasted. They played 23 songs in all, and I managed to get right on the front row, so if anyone was in the lost and found at any point and found a rib cage, please PM me so I can arrange to have that sent back!!
  22. Just got back from Leeds... Pearl Jam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
