  1. Or Venkys’ motivation, ‘Let’s have the same January window because we want the same outcome’
  2. The issue (amongst many others) comes when they operate within the agreed parameters BUT still have to wait for the thumbs up/down.
  3. How much less business would get done if the window was only a week long?
  4. Lampard’s already up to the 17th longest serving manager in the championship. He’s been at Coventry for 38 days.
  5. STRIKER PLEASE PACE PLEASE FUCK OFF VENKYS
  6. Window closes 3rd February so his realisation might take a little longer.
  7. The belief there’s only one way to play football is one of the (many) problems with the modern game. This includes the suggestion that a team setting up for a draw is some sort of sin.
  8. Szmodics signed a new contract late November ‘23 - as per @RevidgeBlue suggestion re Wharton, this was probably done with his sale value in mind.
  9. I know you were being facetious but (and yes he was playing)…
  10. As I posted earlier, we have around £20 million pound losses ‘available’ for 24/25. This includes the Wharton sale. It doesn’t include the Sammie sale nor the additional Raya money. The £1.8 million profit in 23/24 followed a £22.9 million profit on player sales - this equates to a pre player sale loss of £21.1 million. This suggests to me the ‘wriggle room’ equates to roughly the fee we received for Sammie + the Raya money (oh and the fee for Gallagher) Or as you said far more succinctly (😁) we’re nowhere near the FFP limits.
  11. 22/23 losses = £20.8 million 23/24 profit = £1.8 million Loss ‘available’ for 2024/25 = £20 million (It isn’t quite that simple as the accounts will include expenses which aren’t counted for FFP)
  12. This just about catches the moment (1 hour 58 mins in)
  13. Just seen the highlights. What’s the rules on encroaching at penalties these days - is it play on if both teams do it?
  14. Same number of goals as at the same stage of JDTs first season (same number of points too)
  15. I think we’d all have taken six wins, two draws and two defeats from the last ten. That being said, a momentum shift is clearly needed very soon - Saturday sounds an ideal time to me…
  16. You’re right, thanks - read the minutes too quickly!
  17. I have very little confidence we’ll sign anyone of note but SW said the opposite of this in the last fan forum (ie the system is not reliant on any individual). I expect they’ll have another excuse lined up though.
  18. In case people haven’t heard: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cgj6p83w17vo (I presume this is what you’re referring to)
  19. I’d be surprised if no money at all is received up front but I guess it’s possible if you have really shit negotiators! Of course, as others have pointed out, it works both ways (we don’t, or shouldn’t!, be paying fees all in one go) so the club’s use of this as an argument for not spending money is flawed (I’m being polite!)
