Better that the are out the road next season i find them annoying in the extreme now just a bunch of attendance obsessed gob shites all over social media. The hype around this fixture when we are in the same league is a bit of a distraction imo and the current set up at Ewood just don't 'get it' at all. So we'll have to take our medicine when we play them in front of a pathetically self inflicted small crowd then sit back and look forwards to their many pastings next season and 800 away followings when they are marooned in bottom 3. Won't be long before they are back but i for one won't miss them a jot.

Such a classic Rovers thing to do. Always the same, biggest home turn out of the season, bank holiday, top 6, great weather, tell everyone what a good team we are this season in the hope more come down. Club tries for once to drum up support and makes it a bit cheaper and what do they deliver ? That stinking pile of cowardly crap because that's what it is lack of bottle and it starts in the dugout. -

More than capable of a win here but sadly players and coach have lost their way now and just like last season it's going to take some getting back. Hudds have hit a bit of form and when the most inconsistent side in the league turns up bereft of ideas only one outcome. Alongside factoring in SKY and another sold out away end. Hudds 3 Rovers 0 -

But he leaves Thomas and Dolan on the bench and the first name on his team sheet is a defensive mid who cant pass forwards. This hardly helps the quest for goals. -

That's pretty irrelevant really it's more about who they replaced him with and if his face fit. We all know how easy one stupid appointment can ruin someone else's good work overnight. -

That's my point really we've no excuse not to die trying. We are looking every bit like we are in for the meak surrender again like last season despite all the 'talk the talk' that comes from players and gaffer. I knew looking at that team sheet then in the first 5 mins there'd be nothing from that game. It was identical to others although mostly away from home and i'm fuming where is the 'we really want this' attitude ? Last 10 - right good go - mins of course. We don't have enough depth or quality but what we are severely lacking is bottle. No excuse for that and look at the others up there, Millwall, Luton, look at the teams on our coat tails now like PNE. I'm not having it for a min they are better than us they are just applying themselves better. -

Another thing i'll drop in is what was mentioned before when BBD was out then not starting. We looked a better more balanced team. -

Don't put words in my mouth or start your usual niggling for a row we know if Harold Shipman was resurected and appointed you'd be defending it. I'm merely stating my opinion on it i'm extremely annoyed at the lax attitudes on display and the shoulder shrugging. I don't care a jot what we were expecting before the season that is no excuse to take a foot off the gas or look for excuses not to have a go. The man himself told you that we should grasp where we are with both hands and go for it whilst we find ourselves in such a good position. That really isn't happening they are bottling it and it starts with him and his negative first half tactics i'm surprised any poster on here can't see the obvious. I can handle losing i can't handle the lack of fight, ambition and aggression on the pitch or the lack of it from the dug out in terms of altering a faltering method. -

Yes Morton is a bit of a scapegoat it isn't all his fault they were all mostly shite today and not for the first time considering what's at stake. However persisting with him is having a constant negative effect on the way we play and it's pretty poor keep trying something that has never worked this season barring a few early games. We badly lack quality in that area and they tried to do something about it before making a mess of that. However there are options in the squad and as i said in another thread it isn't this style of football that has got us where we are. What we've seen today and many times recently, Stoke, Brum etc is the tactics that are letting us down time and time again they just do not work. We are best pressing from the off and countering where we seem to be able to get a goal in front the either comfortably see it out whilst trying to add another. Or he goes into panic mode too early and we defend our box like trojans for the last 30 mins. It's worked though yet this tip tap continental style crap doesn't. -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
tomphil replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
In Sweden with a team who probably had one of if not the biggest budgets and best squads. His continental approach was obviously perfect for that over there but there is zero evidence of it here. Every bit of success this season has come on the back of some good old English championship style football. Nearly all our losses are the same a complete no show in the first half, pass slowly around the back, holding mid. Go a goal behind and never get back into it and all that isn't a coincidence. Odd game aside over the last few months we've been poor yet we know the squad is better than that. If you want success in this league you simply have to approach games like today the same as Sheffield in the cup, Leicester etc. He doesn't he goes safety first it's like Bowyer and ultimately that was his downfall, a soft mindset that rubs off on players. Must win is must win, mustn't lose is just asking for trouble at the business end of the season. -

Who cares ? He's back in league one where he scored a few last season it makes no difference whatsoever to us. He was dire here and one of the most out of his depth players iv'e seen. -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
tomphil replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Done really well to play his part in getting where we are but ultimately i think we have another bottlejob running the team. The subs at Sheff U amongst many others this season screamed that and far too many selections and tactics recently are screaming it as well. It's now hard to tell where Mowbray and his merry gang of plodders left off and this lot took over. Whenever we need something positive and aggressive he goes into his shell. What will this club ever have to do to get someone who has nuts where they should be instead of raisins ? He/We are totally blowing it and there is nothing and no one else to blame but themselves. -

Different times and 26 years out of the big league so massive demographical changes and a whole generation of young fans lost. Plus capacity them was cut to about 20k with 5 k of it being the old DE always for away supporters. Thankfully we haven't slipped back to 80's levels but we were certainly well on the way. -

Norwich with 5k at Ewood 🤣 I refer you back to the BS i mentioned on twitter etc amongst 15 year olds who know no different. FYI i think they brought about 3.5k in the Prem when we were last in it and Ipswich in all the time iv'e been a fan i don't remember ever anything like that though there may have been one. I'd never diss either or expect any unrealistic following given the distance and neither are massive clubs. Both great sets of fans imo with good support. Back to the game ........ early goal needed and i don't care how it arrives. -

The only shite is what you are talking sunshine get a grip anything over 2k for the distance is a good effort subsidised or not. Like i said over the years Norwich have usually travelled up here better than Ipswich, why are you so bothered anyway. -

tomphil replied to Sweaty Gussets's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
There'll be about 2.5k come the day so it can hardly be classed as poor all things considered. Anyone whose watched Rovers a fair length of time would also agree they've mostly travelled up here better than Ipswich. There's a real load of over expected nonsense trotted around about away support across social media these days. -

I think it's primarily a football thing with Wharton although probably not rocket science that hes fallen foul of his boss at some point. Morton has clearly been more the type of player JDT wants in his system but he isn't really up to it. So Buckley got his chance and the head coach said himself they'd been asking him to learn a new role and he was growing into it. Then he's out so it's back to Morton he was signed as first choice for that role because he is allegedly ahead of the others. Got to agree Wharton should surely be getting more of a look in but there must be a good reason. End of the day he has to learn to play the way they want him to and bide his time. O'Brien if he stayed fit would probably have kept them all out and there was a good reason they wanted somebody like that. -

Yep too many just shrug shoulders at performances and defeats like Saturday but its been a problem all season seemingly not as 'up' for these games and poor tactics. Ok if we bounce back on Friday it's forgotten about but if not those games away at Brum etc come more into the spotlight. Success is gained on the back of the bread and butter stuff not the one off glamour performances, one of those would be real handy next though. -

He's back to where he was again now when he got dropped last time and he should be dropped for the same reasons. I don't like sticking the boot in a young player but he should be a squad man nothing more. Sadly we don't have Buckley now who would surely be starting in front of him if fit.
