Very much so and he's one of the rare people we have who can make a difference when he comes on or starts a game and we go on the front foot. If he comes on at Sunderland at the right time i'd wager we don't lose that game. -

Just why would you throw 15 million + per year at a club then almost discourage it from genuinely trying for promotion when the opportunity presents itself ? There's either a lack or urgency because they aren't bothered and are happy to use the club for accounting/money pit purposes. Or there is just a complete lack of genuine ambition from those in the middle running it because their wages are guaranteed whatever. -

The same Dolan who basically got us 3 valuable points at Norwich ? Same Dolan who has come on several times this season to defend from the front and run himself into the ground to help guard a lead. Same Dolan who cost nothing is still a young player and has numerous assists and goals here ? Some headless chicken that, in reality he's is one of the most useful members of the squad here. -

Hyam is a really good player and good signing which shows they can still do it when they really want to. Wouldn't pitch him alongside Nelson but he reminds me a bit of Scott Dann except he actually looks like he wants to be here. -

Mowbray lived off league 1 promotion and a season or two stability with some good winning runs and counter attacking football that got fans thinking we were up for building a top 6 team. JDT has come in, talked some aggressive pressing football talk but rarely got his side to apply it, started off well but despite being top 6 has served up the worst football since Appleton -who had a bad squad. We've now lost 5 off the last 6 and 4 home games in the space of a few weeks. It really isn't rocket science why he clearly and understandably won't get the patience Mowbray was blessed with. Besides every time there was an inkling in the air the crowd might turn TM went bold and dug out a win or two. He's doing just exactly that in Mackem land right now courtesy of Rovers of course. -

He's quite lively so why don't they give him a go in his actual DM position because playing him in defence is ruining his confidence and he's a liability. -

Super sub Matty D, wish we had one now. I remember my mate saying when Allardyce took over first thing he'll do is bin off Derbyshire, he wasn't far wrong. -

No one would take any notice of him now. They have to present an ipad full of stats and graphs and predictions, be about 22 yrs old a fresh out of Uni with a sports degree. That's a modern football expert and it's a whole industry of its own now that is costing clubs and arm and a leg. Whilst i'd wager in many cases not giving much in return to a lot of clubs. -

Now i'm not saying we should spank them nor am i expecting an easy win but if we lose this that's 4 on the bounce at home. The focus needs to turn on those coaching and selecting this team because that is entering the realms of untenable and 'young', project and bad luck don't cover it. Rovers 0 Cardiff 0 -
Todd on Dugarry, it was hilarious and the cheating diving ponce deserved it but it was a blind act of stupidity right under the refs hooter. I think we went on to lose as well. Emerton i think it was at Wigan when we were on a storming comeback after being several goals down, certain we'd have got at least a point from that game but for that. Also at Wigan Grant Hanley right handing one of theirs over something and nothing, pure petulance from a petulant lump.

The project should be to try by hook or crook to finish in the top 6 by having the desire right through the club to punch above our weight. That's how it always used to be and that was the base for past success however large or small. There should be no other project or desire for our club. -

It was still a needless and stupid thing to do, something you know you shouldn't be doing from schoolboy teams upwards. Whatever the outcome his actions again contributed to us losing so yeah he should damn well be fined otherwise how is he accepting accountability ? Then he should be allowed to move on and put it behind him. -

Hes really bucked his self up recently and now we finally see what those behind the scenes must've done to keep faith in him. Although the fact he was put up for loan suggests the new guys weren't that impressed but surely he has to be kept around now. We could do worse than give him a run in the middle imo and stick Travis at RB -

My point was outside of looking for like for like with a few million to do that the extra recruiting in potential hasn't been very good. Brittain and Hyam were it was suggested on Rovers radar for a long while poss going back to last season so having them on the list would fall under the previous recruitment scouting. Credit the new bunch for getting them over the line obviously but then we come to Hirst. Mortan, Mola and Szmodics who all appear to have GBs stamp on them. Not so great at all i don't see anything in Morton that guaranteeing him a starting berth has ever justified. Szmodics i can see the idea there but was it worth tying up a couple of million in ? No not for me. The other two ok we can send them back but the fact Broughton said they'd chased Hirst from the outset and Szmodics they put in about 5 bids is worrying. -

When the first thought in recruitment is get young cheap potential gems to get games into and increase in value then sadly it'll throw up many more like Hirst and Mola. -

He needs a couple of soldiers in his squad it's as simple as that, not foot soldiers but dogs of war. English football neither produces nor allows for those types anymore though sadly but maybe they could dig one from abroad somewhere. Van Hecke certainly had it in his locker so a midfield version of him would be nice. -

Who do we have as leaders though who'll pull him into line ? If he's going to grow up he needs standing in front of the mirror and to take responsibility himself because it's to his own detriment as well as the teams. He was having his best game in 12 months and may well have been looking at automatic selection again. He shouldn't be now but imo too many excuses are now becoming readily available again from the top downwards. Shrug of the shoulders 'young team, inconsistency, part of the project'. 3 defeats in a week, 4 loses in the last 5 league games two of them horrific and the last two you could argue we should have got something but threw them away. Not good enough. -
From watching him last season and this my opinion of him hasn't changed there is good talent there but a stinking self centred attitude. Just another example of a young player who got way above his station after the briefest of good spells in the team. Another who should have been learning the hard yards first at a lower league club on loan.

To finish in the top 2 last season was always going to be nigh on impossible but to not finish in the top 6 was quite pathetic really.
