New 17 games season ticket unveil by BRFC
tomphil replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Seemed quite a bit busier yesterday so i was surprised it was still only 10,500 Must've been one of those days all ST holders turned up or they've shifted a few of the 17 gamers. -
He used to charge up like that quite a bit after he'd been switched to defense if i remember right. Not sure if he scored many like that but the Palace one was memorable i think we were 1-3 down at one point. It was a great effort from the lad today though not often you see that happen now.

Lively first half but spoiled by the usual disjointed square pegs in round holes stuff. Dolan trying his best, Brereton totally anonymous and wasted out wide, Rothwell too deep, If that's all an effort to stop the opposition it ruins Rovers as a dangerous football side. Fortunately Reading despite plenty effort weren't much good either. Second half far better and the enforced changes seemed to put a bit of life into Rovers when it would've been easy to wilt. Thought for a long time it had nil nil written all over it but a well worked goal and a pearler from Dolan were the difference. A 3rd should've been notched and we nearly had a young Colin Hendry moment for those who remember.

That rumour and his latest demeanor probably just adds up to him sulking because he hasn't got his contract extended...yet. The hoped for trek to India in the last Int break didn't materialize.

Clarkson is just out of his depth at the min and as a result clearly has zero confidence. He must have something about him to get where he has but here how many different roles has he been asked to do already ? We know how this manager works, if there is no confusion then he'll go out of his way to make some. Face it lads like this are just here for experience we are doing someone else a favour. Mowbray is happy with this it's his comfort zone where he can just shrug his shoulders and brush it off. This man will never ever build a team that runs like a well oiled machine it will always be one big mix and match experiment. He's the type that if his fan belt broke despite being a millionaire he'd still try and stick his belt around it, just to see what happens.
-
He said the same veiled digs last season except it was 25 years that time. So in true Mowbray fashion he can't even find consistency in his arrogant comments. He also looked a miserable fed up excuse for a manager 2 years ago mid season when he faced a few tough questions. Same talk of being away from family, results are hard to get, young players, injuries etc. Sorry i don't care if they win 5-0 tomorrow although it would be very nice and welcome the guy just needs to put himself out of his own misery.

You could have gone earlier and saved yourself the bother.

Correct and there has always been some sort of reaction to the miniscule flak that's gone his way. Odds on that ( not if ) some real rockets come his way he'll blow.
-
He's never been roasted by the fans here yet the closest was the first home game in lge 1. No surprise as he was yet again trying a stupid team selection and formation that didn't suit what was at his disposal. More recently twice already this season there have been chants of Mowbray sort it out. Both times he's reacted with changes and both times not long afterwards there's been veiled digs at fans in the media and evidence of the lip out. So basically the signs are he will not react well to some real and frequent questioning in the stadium.

It's all this journey crap he keeps spouting it's becoming offensive now. All we see is the club going slowly backwards. He needs to shut his trap about it or needs calling out on it properly once and for all. The man is the king of driving down blind alleys and telling everyone trying to convince everyone it's a freeway.
-
Going off previous reactions i'd massively disagree with this his ego is egg shell thin. Fine when he's shouting from a safe distance in front of his local tame journo pals. They wouldn't call him out in person if he poured petrol in their tea instead of milk. Very different when fans or someone else has rattled his cage. He's always struck me as a stubborn but insecure manager it's written all over his team selections, tactics, recuitment and retaining players down the years.

Financially they can't be labeled the worst owners ever far from it. Administratively they are without doubt one of the worst ever though. Because through naivety, ignorance and at time sheer arrogance they've wasted and allowed others to waste the majority of their backing. The fact they continue to do this is not only bizarre but a bit suspicious as well. It's as if the club is just an accounting tool for moving a few million spare money around every year. Might be handy for the corporation and billionaires with money that needs wasting however it isn't good for the club despite costs being covered. It leaves it hamstrung between keeping its head about water and people running it not really giving a toss because they know bills and wages are paid no matter how much it under performs. In short no urgency and no real ambition.

3-1 to Rovers The ToMo express gets back on the rails and the journey begins.......

Lancashire Telegraph's Rovers Coverage

Always been the same though some were saying that under Kean. At Wigan away with Ince me and my mate and a few randoms had to stop a gang of kids trying to set about a couple of young lads who started chanting Ince out. Remember the 1875 protest ? A good chunk of the crowd upped and out whilst some booed and a few sat and clapped. The minority always shouts the loudest as they say but when the crowd turns it turns. Difference is with Mowbray and his gang they did out a good result at Ewood every time the patience is wearing thin. Then they say all the right things briefly and the credit in the bank from a couple of good seasons years ago still stands with some. -

Those comments are not worth the time of day they re clear plants or whums. HSH or some other lot are active on those platforms for sure it's obvious with the spin starry eyed crap some of them come out with, Not long ago i sussed out a multiple account holder who only surfaced to give ott praise to TM after a win. He pretended to be Irish but guess where he was from... ? -
Looking at his performance last night it back fired anyway he looked knackered. All a bit pointless really, were we so desperate to get him back for a few mins football in the first place. I know it's hindsight and if he'd come on and scored it looks justified. In the grand scheme of things though we are hardly likely to be chasing promotion in October so he might have been better getting some rest.

We'll pump Reading on Saturday it's not time for a full on death spiral yet.
-
It won't get 26k on but i'd happily pay 35 notes for a ticket if it's farewell !
-
Has there ever been a manager in the history of the championship who is happy so often to lose 1-0 ?
-
Well he does set out to fox and confuse the opposition so probably all just part of the cunning plan.
-
The famous Derek Shaw phone call, big things happening behind the scenes, all is well as i recall it. Followed not long after by selling every decent player, Owen Coyle and relegation.
-
He's a basic bog standard championship defender and pairs ok with Ayala. Not a dig because iv's seen it a few times but i don't get the overated tag ? He is what he is he's never looked like a potential class defender he looked like a converted mid trying to get to grips with it for years. Now he's a bread and butter type in this league. He's learnt his trade here under the midtable messiah in a squad that's never been great defensively. He probably wouldn't be that difficult to replace for a competent club and manager with enough to spend on decent wages. That doesn't apply here though sadly.
-
They always pop up with this bollocks after defeats as a form of defense for him. They say they want change yet try and justify Mowbrays methods constantly. Painful it is, stats are stats but live games as a spectacle are live games and that's what most normal fans are watching. Not a frigging spreadsheet !
-
It's the same as it's always been with the owners their cash covers the cack handed barely bothered way they allow the club to run. They see it as their right to do what they want as long as the costs care covered. In turn they expect everyone to be grateful for this as that's the norm for 'generous' billionaires who think money covers all ills. The cultural, football passion differences and void filled by sycophants getting themselves rich remain the main issue. They either still don't get it or more to the point don't really give a stuff. Yet are stuck with it because one or two of them are amused by playing with it.

Quite a few QPR fans commenting on TMs delusional post match waffle last night. Seem quite bemused we sat back so much after bothering them in the first 5 mins of the second half. One comment in particular stood out 'does he ever take responsibility for anything or is he always like that ?' Honestly this guy wouldn't last 5 mins at most other clubs.
