  1. Only Rovers fans could want a Royal funeral moving to accommodate a dead rubber game they aren't attending or some cases watching anyway. No wonder we are labelled hard to please 😂 They could cancel the season right now for all i care i think the sooner this one ends for everyone associated with Rovers the better. Everybody, fans, players, manager will benefit from a complete summer break from it. As for the game i vaguely remember us playing Derby on about this date way back, think it was a good Friday. Great crowd, warm sunshine and turned in an unexpected barnstormer to win 3 or 4 one. Only remember it because it was on or the day after my birthday and they won. Seem to piss me off around then ever since. Rovers 4 Derby 1 Armstrong 2, Gallagher, Dolan ( he'll be rotated to start with Elliot again, seeing as our manager shites himself having more than one lively flair player in at once )
  2. Something i thought this season was project Armstrong, i think that's how this development coach (before he decided he was a performance one ) is working. It was all about Dack, he should've gone for big bucks but got injured. Then it switched to Armstrong, if he goes in summer i think they'll then focus on one of BB or Gallagher. Then we might see them playing a more natural position with play set up to serve whichever one it is. Whatever his ideas though it hasn't been about building a top 6 side and having a real go. That if it happened would just be a by product of what they are really doing, a bonus. It's always baffled me that there's never been a performance like today whenever we are in touching distance. Only when his hide really needs saving, very odd that...
  3. If you all want to continue coasting along here under no pressure i need you to get something today.
  4. It'll never go into admin whilst there are players to flog to balance the books short term. As for the structure they have one in place now for the first time properly since they got rid of the one's they inherited. Problem is that structure is more intent and down scaling and sailing in the middle of the division. That's what they want to do because it benefits them and is the height of their abilities. Easy street is what appeals to them under the guise of producing young players for other clubs to snap up cheap. And carry loans from other clubs. No doubt there are some nice drinks in the middle of all that somewhere. No idea where the owners stand on it but what kind of ambition do the Coventrio, Pasha, Cheston and co really have ? Non apart from staying in wages.
  5. We relied on Rhodes - he cost 8 mill and had proven goalscoring pedigree Then we relied on Graham - Goalscoring pedigree, Prem league fitness wghen he came - cost about 25k a week at first. Now we are relying on Armstrong - Had scored goals for this manager before, young, try before you buy, 3 mill plus 40% sell on, 15 grand a week. What the hell comes next is the question - I fear 12 million already spent won't be the answer. More worrying times.
  6. But where are those performances like that second half ? How come it has to come down to desperation but they'll put a real urgent effort in ? Not played like that in a long time.
  7. I reckon he's gone from being as close to quitting as he's been, to living to brazen it a bit longer, all in the last mins of that game.
  8. Desperate stuff or a last final throw of the dice as a goodbye ? Towel gone in.
  9. And risk being called racist or something ? Don't be silly it's just easier to virtue signal and save the hassle.
  10. That should go out after the watershed ! No doubt he's expecting a full state funeral the c###!
  11. Not when it comes to Evans it isn't he's been managed around his International career since he's been here. Probably just having a rest or treatment for something or other before the build up starts to his next stint in green.
  12. 100% and Evans aren't two things that are normally associated.
  13. He keeps saying 'we'll see what happens' in regards to summer. A small part of me is now thinking he's agreed to step aside at the end of the season. Not sure how that would pan out though as a winning run might see it kyboshed. Even if not he'll probably still be here in some capacity till his contract runs out So would Venus, probably in his place. It would probably suit the finances better though and save a pay off now which might have penalty clauses attached to it. Not sure it'll work out great for the football side of it though. It' time his influence on that was removed altogether.
  14. The main issue again i reckon is the void between here and India. Why are people at the club so happy to divert large chunks of their multi million quid annual donation towards the likes of Brereton and Gallagher but not the pitch or stadium ? Why do they keep extending contracts of those who contributed nothing or carry others until they see fit and are fit to go and play for someone else . Yet don't put money into upgrading the training comlex if it's so urgently needed ? Why do we keep giving contracts to Middlesbrough cast offs but not relay the pitch ? Could it possibly be it's easier to make a few extra quid and a few quid for mates that way but not so easy if spending on fixed assets ? Just a thought...
  15. We should have been doing that more often this season away from home against stronger sides. Just look to grind out a result, maybe pinch something. Whilst he isn't really in the target man mould other than his size, i always feel Gallagher could do a job running the line up top and defending from the front. Sadly with this manager we know he prefers to play chess with his own side after looking at the opposition. Then tip tap about and take plaudits from the opposition manager after losing.
  16. It's just stereotypical Venkys though isn't it. He said he flew to India in summer after relegation not knowing if he was being kept on or what budget he'd get. Now he might well have been billy bullshitting with that but it sounds plausible. So this summer will be no different they'll want him sat in front of them, they'll swallow his sob stories. He'll get a contract extension and budget and off we go again. Then somewhere into next season they'll probably sack him out the blue and cost the club another fortune. Then Phil Brown or someone will parachute in after offering to do it for 2 grand a week till the end of the season. They'e learned absolutely sweet FA and never will.
  17. So basically another who only belongs on twitter and struggles to cope with the real world. They do tend to crumble with anything outside of their own thought bubbles.
  18. Another close defeat will be tough to stomach but we need a point or three so might be time to stomach Mowbrays absolute nonsense if we get some. Lets face it if we get pasted 4 nil he'll still stand there conducting the biggest denial circus in modern football. And he'll still be drinking tea at Brockall come Monday and sulking about having to walk between 2 sites.
  19. Tony's summer targets... Keep as many ageing injury prone pals as he can and as many youngsters as poss. So as to throw under the bus and keep the journey/young team line going. Sell or let go the rest and replace with loans. Job done.
