I'm thinking more that there might be issues regarding game time in talks with permanent players. Like some lad coming ready to sign having agreed terms to be then told he'll be behind a loanee kid in the pecking order initially. When the recruitment team, agents, the ceo, owners and all that have done their bit in getting the player there terms agreed it's the managers job to bag him. Not sure how many options someone like Bell had but he mentioned the drive and ambition of the selling job Lutons manager did. Remarking he'd never come across that before which i thought might have been a bit of a ref to Mowbray. Of course it could be down to medical but that kind of thing usually leaks out pretty quick.

Not sure how serious they actually are with some of these players they so called go for on permanents. Seem quick enough to guarantee other clubs loanees game time and of course would he have let an ex boro boy leave the building without signing ?

Hes constantly blamed the finances in the past when these alleged advanced efforts to sign some have fallen down. Can't really do that this time after a big sale so now it's not financial. Well what is it then ? Probably more worrying hearing that for once it isn't money.

Summer transfer window 2021.

Bayes loves Mowbray that much has always been clear, he chucks in the spongeballs for Tony to bat away without effort. -
An eternal defeatist whose very first thought on everything is to get the excuses in first.

If the manager has actually learned anything from Bell the last few years he'll get somebody running at him and into the space he leaves behind. Therefore i expect he'll stick Gallagher back on the right and maybe even double up to stop their flying left wing back!!!! A tough evenly matched afternoon in store i reckon. 1 -1 -
The nodding dogs still think all is well though and pour their sympathy towards the club, its 300k per year exec and billionaire badly advised owners. Rovers fans have no right to moan don't you know, this is our level.

It was that rammed in there my feet were off the ground whilst going forwards, sideways, backwards. It was surreal and a bit scary although that was nothing compared to the snarling Stoke mob outside 🙂 -

Going back before that to when we resembled something similar to what they've reduced us to again the Don Mackay years were brilliant. I'd give anything for someone with his attitude to walk through the door again. Probably not much footage of that era knocking about but it's worth a look. -
As usual it seems they've got it arse over elbow.

Literally sat at home looking for the next thing to put the squeeze on. I wonder how many times hes costed up closing the riverside.

Could the fans save the club without ownership?
tomphil replied to StubbsUK's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If we were getting 14k home fans every home game the arguments would be the same. The extra few quid brought in wouldn't have made much difference despite what gets said. They'd have found a way to waste it the problem at Ewood , with the wealthy generous but clueless owners and the void, it all gets taken for granted by those drawing a big wage from it. People would bleat 'but we don't get 18/20k like some do, if we did we'd be doing this that an the other'. Rovers aren't getting that in this league barring some brief revolution or other. It's all bollocks everything begins and ends at the top in terms of how it's run and funded and on the field. How it's managed and how those funds are used. Everything else, crowds, FFP, pitch and the rest are just convenient excuses and distractions. At least 100 million above the clubs own income and sales must've been spewed on this decade of mostly championship football. We should be in a much healthier position and it's #### all to do with the crowds or fans. -
Him and Suhail must have that lot in their pockets the silence and lack of accountability must be either bought off or warned off.

VLL which owns and funds the club belongs to the parent company VH Group who inject share capital in etc. The two big Ds are in charge of all that therefore they'll have the final say on Rovers funding, despite whoever is playing with it further down the pecking order. -

To do that you need imagination and a bold drive to get people back in. If they'd done it when they should have after promotion and set out a clear plan of aiming to crack the top end within a few seasons it would've pulled a few more in. Slashing the ST prices like some similar clubs have done in the past to 199/250 would've seen 14/15k home fans in regularly. Then you can slowly increase the price again, barring dire seasons, that would've seen us now still with 10k plus ST holders. Things would've looked a little better off the pitch despite the muddled under achieving stuff on it. In short, around here you've got to get them in whilst you can because you've no chance when things are tough. -
Only if the ownership provides the same budgets and the cutback isn't permanent. If that's the case there is big trouble ahead no matter who is manager.

Thought that for a long while and things did change at companies house in terms of overal control. Still think Madame is in charge of the VH group though and if money comes via that she'll still have a big say in it. I do think though that BJ and son play real life football manager with the club. -
Yep very tricky ground if one side wants to stay but the other wants change or vice versa. Like i said though i think this is the wheels starting to churn leading to his new deal. Making it sound like things are up in the air is an attempt at forcing some hands imo. Then again it is Alan 'i'll make something up' Nixon.

Mowbray got sacked at Boro for going nowhere under sliding crowds and fans ready to turn. If Mowbray goes why not give Neil a go ? He's out performed Mowbray with far less and his team have beaten ours. Shouldn't cost the earth if it didn't work out. There's worse out there for sure.
-
On what grounds does he have authority to do that if he's just a messenger boy ? I think it's always been blatantly obvious this kind of thing has gone on at Ewood all along no matter who the manager is. All this xyz is in sole charge of transfers is gubbins under this ownership. Do we have another Shebby Singh in our midst wielding a bit of clueless power around off his own bat ? Albeit a publicity shy version of course, i wonder why that is.

Summer transfer window 2021.
tomphil replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
They've got to be made to feel wanted by the manager above all else except money i'd say. -
Iv'e been wondering why theres not been any mention of his contract being up this season. Not by the local rag or anyone else outside the fanbase which i found a bit suspicious. Now it begins, a bit like the outgoing transfer stuff usually starts...Nixon ! When it was mention by a couple on here they'd heard there'd be a root and branch clear out this summer it looks as if that was right. My opinion on it though at the time was it would be Waggot and Mowbray conducting it not the more popular thought that they'd be the first victims of it. Well here we are, he survived some of the worst non winning runs in history. Survived being backed as much as possible within limits to have a go at the top end only to keep seeing seasons derailed. And he's still here whilst many have been weeded out not only that hes brought yet another of his pals in. This folks is the start of the wheels churning in public leading to his new contract.

I posted that a while ago it struck me as very relevant everything you need to know about how he works is in there. He'll squeeze it till it pops, make sure there is enough to cover his own wages then fire off and leave someone else to pick up the pieces.
