  1. Selling BBD that summer would've been the wisest thing to do when there was time to bring in others, that's not really hindsight it would just have been the right trading thing to do. Wouldn't have been popular in some parts but sales of good players never are but it's nothing new. Selling him for c8 mill when in a great position in the league was a no no for me and that wouldn't have made sense at the time unless it was forced. People are paid hundreds of thousands in high up positions inside the club to make these decisions for the good of the club not the player or his agent, can hardly put Brereton in the good servant category and when push comes to shove it was an awfully misquided signing. The model and the ultimate aim, supposedly trading and growing our way to promotion, must always come first. However you must never sabotage a promotion chance you MUST strengthen it and by the same token you must never weaken a relegation battle especially if you can't strengthen it. Shocking shocking club this is under these current clowns.
  2. The BOARD of directors should have been pushing the owners to back the previous head coach. We don't have a real, board of directors and the ones we have do the opposite.
  3. We need a CEO and board of directors who are not only capable and trustworthy but will sweat blood for the club and go that extra mile for the benefit of the club not themselves. Waggot is the polar opposite of that he remains here just because no one has told him to go so he carries on just going through the motions. We're selling Wharton and they've loaned out the captain to save a few quid and the best he can do is casually pick up the phone push the old boys network button and bring in a lad whose had career ending injury problems and hardly played fr 18 months. In doing so he commits to wasting c4/500k of the Wharton money straight off for someone who the odds on contributing anything for 5 moths were wafer thin to start wth. You tell me he isn't doing others favours there and getting a drink himself, nothing at all in that scenario is for the benefit of BRFC.
  4. I'm not even going to listen to the useless prick his words mean absolutely nothing.
  5. Before we even start of the corrupt useless bent Atwell if we had any kind of normal goal keeper we walk away from that with a point. How many points have that pair directly cost us this season ? Never known such a bad keeper dept in all mu time going it's just ridiculous it's like having Matt dickens and Darren collier as 1 and 2. Both those lads proved decent lower level keeper and neither had the coaching and facililities this pair have grown up with.
  6. Gally missing 'ill' against the club who wanted to sign him and probably will in summer 😬
  7. There needs to be an open line directly between the Rovers chief decision maker in Blackburn and the head Rao in Pune. Iv'e long thought these things fail because of that and whoever is over there needs telling stay on the line no matter what time it is over there otherwise it's all a waste of time. Months worth of work, negotiation and sometimes money down the pan because they can't get a direct nod from someone over there who doesn't want their daily duties interrupting, because that's how they operate. Will anyone in Blackburn tell them that ? Will they balls.
  8. A lot of similarities to Hodgsons time with JDT. Fresh continental approach, different coaching, harder work more demanding on the pitch and in training, asked to play a style unacustomed to. At first when bedded in it worked well but impossible to keep it up with such a small quality devoid squad. When it went wrong the stubborn approach wouldn't change it when needed and tactically caught out by other teams who's sussed us out 2nd half of the season. In Roys case a guy not used to finding his own players made some awful signings and wasted millions. JDTs case no backing at all when needed, budget cut resulting it being given a string of mostly duds by a rookie DoF. In the midst of all this a lot of players fed up, poor atmosphere and tools being downed resulting in bad results and a yearning to go back to the comfort zone of something a bit more British. That didn't work out so lets pray this does.
  9. Goes without saying i wish TM well and hope he gets better and back into football. Problem was he spent that much time dumbing down expectation, bigging up ALL opposition and generally running the club down to ease the pressure off himself that we almost forgot who we were. Then when we unexpectedly found ourselves up there it was a feeling of we are not worthy and just waiting for it to implode. When it did, a shrug of the shoulders we'd no right to be there anyway.
  10. I'd love to see Ipswich go up, the countries 2nd most successful town team, it would give hope to everyone and yet again consign to the bin the defeatist 'you need 100 mill parachute money to compete for promotion' nonsense. However we really have to put a big dent in that for our own needs and at some point we really really need to try and win some games. Pressure on for both sides, i'd say it could go either way but really it could go one way unless we are on the money. Verdict...... 2-2
  11. Some of them convinced themselves a while ago that signing players not good enough is all part of some Yank/Kompany masterplan. They'll get pasted every week get relegated but bounce straight back and second time around they'll know what its all about and take the prem by storm. Only in Burnley could such delusion prosper and when they come down a flog half of them again reality will dawn, then again no it probably won't.
  12. The way he goes on about it in the first podcast to me comes across as if he's speaking about a big wedge that is available to put to use in several different directions. Even if he's speaking hypothetically it's still a bit fairy tale he should be a bit more realistic it's the kind of talk that leads to disappointment and anger when the opposite happens. He surely knows it's in instalments and the first one has likely already gone and if there is no funding from India for whatever reason the next one will be gone. Also he said he'd been told it would be reinvested which isn't exactly set in stone seeing as a few months ago he was told he'd have the same budget as last year. Then he was assuming that funding issued would have been sorted before now before delayed court cases messed it up. I guess what i'm saying is he should be a bit more guarded and realistic in what he is projecting as he knows better how it could go really. He's trading on hope and expectation rather than facts at the min.
  13. He talks about the Wharton money as if it is coming into the club in one lump and will be separate from everything else so can be divided into 4 different areas ? To me he was actually saying it could be used One or two of 4 different ways i can't think he's that naive that he really thinks there is going to be a giant pot to be divided up. I think we all know that from previous sales and now the financial issues the Wharton instalments will be used soley for running costs barring maybe a million for a couple of Pickering style signings. Then we'll be told it's re-invested in youth to develop. Gregg knows this and imo is just covering himself so when that happens he can say well i made my recommendations to the board public and they chose to go a different way. Shrug of shoulders.
  14. No surprise if you've seen some of the VH group websites they look like a kid has done them on GoDaddy.
  15. Babu has been on the board for years yes and he is allegedly the guy responsible for seeing the finance get from India to here, so he'll have been a bit redundant recently ! What no one seems to know is what the other guy has been added for. Now we have a long standing guy here apparently standing down for family reasons amid a myriad of rumours, the most sane one being he is just retiring. Why the club couldn't just say that then who knows but it doesn't help the cloak and dagger stuff, then we have an officer replacing a director. Aren't companies the size of Rovers required to have a certain number of UK based directors ?
  16. Without the ramifications of a director if we end up going to the wall ?
  17. They still need one on the ground here to manage all the takings and outgoings in Blackburn. The main finance though of player, football operation wages, transfer, debts, funding etc will surely be done direct from India ? How many finance people does one club need seeing as they already appointed another in India recently.
  18. A finance officer as opposed to director ? And another appointed in India recently, also Mr Babu ?
  19. Charlie Cheston stepping down. I presume all the finances might be managed in India now with maybe all bills paid directly from there cutting out the need to money transfer. Not sure if that's possible or how it would impact their situation over there but no doubt it'll turn to shit anyway. It would also increase the need for more revenue in Blackburn to cover any shortfall in day to day costs here, more price increases on the horizon.
  20. The best way to narrow the odds of a Rovers victory is to press and counter and get a goal or two up but obviously not leaving the huge voids of space at the back we did under JDT. We just don't hold on to 0-0 then nick a game late it's just not in this squads DNA though i get the impression that is what Eustace is trying for based on evidence so far. As always Rovers need to be 1/3 goals up at half time to have any hope of 3 points.
  21. That Fleck move is the work of genuine incompetence and probably stopped that money going towards another deal like say for instance McGuires loan fee. Waggot needs removing from this club immediately before he does any more damage as does the clown he works in tandem with. The only thing that has covered for those two was Mowbrays experienced steady hand i think it was obvious him and Venus ran the football operation until the last season they were here. Then in comes JDT who it seems was Broughtons pick, new gaffer bounce, does well, so what do they do ? Don't back him and play a part in him giving up and starting to look elsewhere for new employment. We are stuck with this ownership but there is no need to be stuck with these internal incompetent power grabbers, get them out by any means.
  22. Reputation ? Money talks as do job vacancies and the chance to relaunch a career, the reputation here is if you toe the line, the owners like you then it's easy money and that is appealing to anybody. If you go for the right people with the right offer they'll come if there is nothing better being flung under their nose. Here they go for easy to employ, cheaper targets and THAT is why Eustace is here and why JDT was here. Same with GB, offering this step up to someone like him would see him make very few demands and obviously be prepared to put up with nonsense.
  23. Think Celtic would be a great move for him and i'd rather see him up there than at an ambitious Champ club or one in the Prem coming straight back down. Bag full of goals for him playing for the best side in the pub league, Europe, better for his international career and huge fanbase to worship him. We'd be needing 10 million though !
  24. That last line is daft and trotted out too many times in regards to Rovers. 'Who can we sign', 'Who will buy us'. 'Who will manage us' etc etc There are plenty out there who'd come and as i pointed out it's our first real stab at a having a proper DoF model so what do they do ? They hire someone who has never done it before then hide in shadows as he presides over another step in the right direction turning to a shit show. He clearly isn't actually directing anything he's just another intermediate adviser who can't make anything but the most basic decisions and all his ideas and directions have to go through several layers above him before he even gets a 'maybe' answer. That is why they've hired a rookie and of course in his naivety he'll front up answering questions and taking flak for stuff that isn't down to him.
  25. I like Wharton he's one of us and it's good to see him back playing well again but in all honesty he struggled with JDTs style more than others. He wasn't alone in that but he also fell away a bit the season before under a different style with TM. He was out because he was making basic defensive errors, not alone again, and that was mainly down to him. Poor though that it seems there was no arm around the shoulder and the dropping him for the Burnley game was another of JDTs many cock ups. Not sure what he was trying to prove there but i'd wager that was the start of an uneasy relationship between Scott and the head coach. What i did like in that interview is how gutted he obviously was and still is he was dropped from that game, lad was nearly choking up. Barnes isn't putting him in the back of the net that day like he did Hyam !
