The only explanation given, was to give cover for Brittain at left-back. This did not happen as Brittain drifted over to a left center-half position, to accomodate Gallys position.

No, I needed it explaining to me, the reasoning of playing Gally as a left wing-back.

I was there, I have a brain. I thought we were poor, against a team that overdid their attacking play. When they went direct they split our defence with ease. The sending off made little difference to our set up, as we effectively only had ten men with Dolan hiding on the wing. You think we acquited ourselves well, we lost end of story.

It would be a statement if nobody bought the available tickets.

I suppose you could say; At least Pears knew which side the forward would shoot. Back to reality he could have taken his bearings from the penalty spot. Nobody is saying it would not have ended in the same result, but Pears made it so much more easier for the scorer.

But Brittain moved inside almost like another center-half to accomadate Gally playing where he was. At no time was Gally a physical presence infront of Brittain.

I do not profess to having a clue about modern tactics, that is why I would like to hear JDTs reasoning behind todays way of playing.

So do you think Gally should be played in a defensive wing-back role ? I would even think putting Scott wharton as left back with Brittain in front of him would have been more solid than playing Gally out of position.

He did a good job, for a center forward, playing at left back. But why ?

I would like JDT to come out and explain his thought process of playing Gally, in what to me looked like a defensive left wing back position. After the performace today, I am glad I didn't renew my season ticket. I was thinking of making a week of going to Watford and Plymouth. I will now be doing my garden.
