What I take from this, is that he left Rovers to try to better his career. This didn't quite work out for him. His downward spiral was not as dramatic as ours, but he has ended up at our level. Is he a good recruit for us ? I doubt it.

Adam Wharton does not need waking up. He is the most astute and quick thinking midfielder at our club. What Adam Wharton needs, is playing more often.

And a good percentage of those touches have been poor ones.

So he is not playing the best players, or system, from what is available. He is stubburnly sticking to his plan and is not putting the team as No1.

If you don't shoot, from whatever distance, they never go in.

The thing is we can only use what we have got, and make the best of it. I think the players that we have in midfield are good enough individually at championship level, it's how they are deployed that is the problem. PS.
