In the fifty years I have been watching football it has always been the same.

Our midfield attacking play is a delight to watch, it is the final ball that let's us down. They always seem to manage to make the pass right at, or just behind a players feet. If the final pass arrived just in front of the player, they could put their foot through it.

Gally can play at full-back, it doesn't make it right. We tried the same thing with Dack, it doesn't work. What you end up with, is two in midfield and one player who doesn't know where he is mean't to be. Just do the simple thing and play three central midfielders.

I can't think of any games that justify your first paragraph. The only thing I have seen from Markanday is a reasonable shooting ability. Very rarely have I seen him beat a player, as he seemed too weak and is easily knocked off the ball. From his wide position he almost always cuts inside, defenders find this out quickly, and just put their bodies in the way, he invariably looses the ball. I have seen better players released by the Rovers.

I will be beyond disappointed if we don't play three in midfield tomorrow.
