From what I have seen of Markanday with our U21's, he is not a great dribbler. What he has got is a good shot. In my opinion he needs to be played centrally, which would not suit the way the Rovers play at the moment.Szmodic is far better in that position. Things may change in the future, you never know.

I would have suspect that the second rise would have been put into place, had we have been promoted.

I think that is because we are not in the play-off final.

For the slightly older reader, Adam Wharton could be our Colin Bell.

Even for the U21's Wharton has always looked more impressive in a deeper midfield role.

But our league position and points tally has got worse. I once got an award for being the most improved player of the season. All that meant was that I was shit to start with and got to be less shit.

Similarly with Vale, not good enough yet, but may make it in the future. Walker is quite physical, if he can learn to use that, he could become a reasonable player. He might even become a championship level player.

When I was growing up, Luton, Burnley, Brighton and Fulham were bigger clubs than the Rovers.
