  1. I seem to remember him scoring a similar goal in the Blackburn end.
  2. It is only an opportunity missed, if the Rovers wanted to increase the home crowd. I don't think they do.
  3. The quality of the opposition is also a factor. But again I am not putting into doubt Messi's ability. What I am saying is that no-one can say for certain that it never will be beaten. I remember the four minute mile being the be-all and end-all of athletics. Nowadays it probably wouldn't qualify you for an international meet
  4. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.
  5. I thought that Coventry had just signed a new deal for the ground ?
  6. I would keep Tomasson. I hate making knee jerk decisions. It is only halfway through his first season, and although a lot of performances have been poor, we are third. Earlier in the season, people were asking our young players to show loyalty to the club by signing contracts. Loyalty works both ways.
  7. Phillips doesn't need to be the direct replacement for Ayala. We also have Hyam, Wharton and Carter.
  8. for me Mola could fill that role.
  9. for me Mowbray is welcome to Pears.
  10. We need to strengthen in other departments more urgently, than at central defender. I loved Van Hecke when he was here, but I don't think now is the right time for him at the Rovers
  11. It was more a comment that it has taken 33 years rather than the quality of the kit.
  12. I see from the official site, that the 1988/89 restock has arrived.
  13. Markanday is another player who I have seen quite a few times for the U21s. At the moment he is nowhere near a first team player. He is being played wide where his main attribute ( a good shot ) is being wasted. He has shown nothing to prove he has the ability to play wide. Personally I would partner him down the middle with someone decent in the air.
  14. From a Southampton point of view, it was.
  15. I doubt very much if Hirst will get a few first team games.
  16. I have seen him play for the U21s. I am making my judgement on what I have seen. It is nothing to do with fitness. You see Hirst sprint quickly towards the ball, then pull up just before a tackle. He has done this consistantly.
  17. The whole point of a rough diamond, is that there is a risk it will not turn out for the best. So getting Hirst on a loan to have a look at him, could have been a shrewed move. I would only call Broughton's judgement into question if he were to buy Hirst on a permanent, after his loan period.
  18. Have you seen Hirst play. He is shit scared of going in for a challenge for some reason. I have never before seen a player who pulls out of as many tackles.
  19. With the emphasis being on option. We can just send him back. From what I have seen, that would be the best option for the Rovers. Hirst may turn out to be a decent player in the future, but the Rovers need players to win games now, not in the future.
  20. I thought Hirst was a loan ?
  21. To tell the truth, I don't think any of the players you mentioned, are worthy of a place, never mind all of them.
