  1. No the old league cup
  2. I do not know if he can make that position his own, but I suggested it was worth a try. No-one will know if it isn't tried.
  3. because he has excellent ball control, can turn on to either foot, has some pace, I think that centerhalves would be more worried by these attributes, than just a physical presence up front
  4. He seems to have good ball control, he seemed to have enough strength in both games I have seen him in. He just seems to lack the knowledge of when to release a ball. this can be learned, but if he is losing the ball in the more forward position it is less dangerous than where he has been losing the ball.
  5. But Armstrong and Nuttall are not targetman types, Palmer could be, try it against lesser opponents to start with.
  6. I would try palmer against Carlisle as the targetman forward to give DG a rest. His ball control is good perhaps he could be an answer to the lack of a forward problem at least if he tries a trick and it doesn't work possession is lost in their defensive area.
  7. I am of the belief that you can only judge signings on their contribution to your team, not on potential or what they have done before.
  8. I think there might have been a hint of irony in S8&blues original post.
  9. We didn't make 500 pages quickly enough. Ah well roll on Saturday at least the match will be based on reality and not sooth-saying.
  10. After the performance at Ipswich I am really looking forward to Saturday.
  11. personally I completely disagree.
  12. It seems strange that away fans don't have concessions, but home fans do.
  13. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater
  14. I totally disagree with your statement in bold, so did every Ipswich fan I talked to after the game. They could not get over how aggressive we where all over the park
  15. The only team I am looking forward to seeing is the Rovers.
  16. Just got back, I enjoyed the game if not the result. If we play like that all season we will be fairly safe, maybe a bit more if we can cut out the sloppy goals (two examples yesterday). I was talking to some Ipswich fans in the pub after the game, and all where surprised by the Rovers aggression. They said that they did not mean that we where dirty, but we challenged for every ball and put in a great amount of effort. Being biased as fans are, I thought we should have won, they thought they could have won. Onwards and upwards. I also totally agree with earlier posts about mistaken substitutions. I thought Palmer was all tricks and flicks when he came on . We needed some one to get and keep the ball, maybe by drawing fouls. But what we got was possession being lost mid way into their half and them gaining impetus.
  17. One you pay for, one is free.
  18. So lets join in and change that
  19. So he will be up against the PNE left back
  20. That's lucky, because he wont be up against the Peterborough left back
  21. There's a moral to that story!
  22. You can just see the Blackburn end turnstiles on the right
  23. My point was that you where comparing two Blackburn Rovers squads, saying one squad was weaker than the other, nothing to do with what league they where in, or the merits of age and pace, and I disagreed with your opinion. You may be right, I may be right, lets see what the season brings.
