  1. Rooney and Crouch up front tonight? But who will take the penalties? No clear favourite for me, even though Lampard has the job, he missed last time around. I think tonights game has 0-0 written all over it but I hope I'm wrong.
  2. My moneys already on Adriano... However I now wish I had bet on Klose. I had him in my WC dream team until last night, thinking Germany would settle for a bore draw with Ecuador as they were both through anyway. Smart move selling him for Klasnic! (Croatia to beat the dirty Aussies )
  3. He's not going. Well done Reidy. We await your next level!
  4. Lahm got me 6 pts this round, not bad. Klose only 2. Should have had a goal today..
  5. Yes, but it is not usual that all the favourites win, like they have done in this tournament. Saudis need a bit of credit, I feel that game could go either way, but the odds on the Saudis were great Not that it matters anymore
  6. The forwards and midfield. Now you know I predicted a draw myself so not gloating...
  7. Got ~£10 on an accumulator for today: spain - ukraine: draw @ 3.20 tunisia - saudi arabia: saudi @ 4.55 germany - poland: germany @ 1.50 Should give a decent payout of ~£200 if and only if. My old bookie Centrebet was being slow and annoying last night so I signed up for a new one - the choice was easily bet24 (our new sponsor) and I can't complain about the signup bonus of £24 either
  8. Nah. WC forum is great as far as I'm concerned. Doesnt really have anything to do with Rovers but we still have it. Oh and it's "separate" innit?
  9. The whole Italia '90 was a revelation for me. Although for single best moment it has to be Norway beating Brazil in Marseille 1998. 1-0 down with about 15 minutes to go we came back and won 2-1 to go through to the second phase. A first for little ol' Norway. We were only just narrowly beaten by Spain too, in the next round.
  10. Not mine. I also think Croatia could go far. As for white horses, I can only think of Ruud van Nistelrooy...... Oh, you were looking for dark horses.. hanger. coat. door. bye.
  11. My BBC predictions: World Cup 2006 Winner: ITA 2nd: GER 3rd: ENG (beating Croatia....)
  12. Demichelis left out also. I feel that Pekerman is losing his ways. Pretty obviously he has a problem with Zanetti on a person level. That makes him a fool. I used to think he was a great manager too, after what he did with the U21's.
  13. Interesting innit. I would have thought Rooney is more of a #10, while Owen would be the poacher traditionally wearing #9. Ah well.
  14. Yes, that's not a bad tip. But I think their defense could be better, and they only named 3 strikers in their 23 man squad... Lowest odds has to be Brazil. What a friggin team! But anything can happen. If Ronald is not in the mood there are plenty of teams that could beat them. I'd like to think Argentina and Italy could go far, but for the viewers the latter stages would probably be more interesting if teams like Holland, Germany, England and Brazil were in the mix. Rovermatt, can we please have a flowchart of the possible matchups in each round to fill out? Would be much easier that way. For all I know Italy and Brazil could meet in the quarter final. Oh and France.. Their glory days are over for now I think. Dont think Czechs are the dark horse (not this time as well), that honour must go to Germany. Nobody really expects them to go far, but being at home they are bound to give it all, and may spring some surprise results.
  15. I guess the same is true for me with Inter. I was just getting into football around the '90 world cup in Italy. Some of the names where Roberto Baggio, Guiseppe Bergomi, Franco Baresi, Walter Zenga and Guiseppe Giannini, but the team that really caught my eye (if you're british you won't understand this!) was Germany with the likes of Klinsmann, Matthaus and Brehme, who all played for Inter at the time. I remember nearly completing two sticker books for that WC. Brazil was another favourite. My little sister was actually the one interested in England at the time. Her favourite player being Lineker (and in later years, Owen ). I remember my uncle who lived in Rome at the time bought me an AC Milan shirt for xmas - didn't wear that very often Ah, the memories!
  16. Scudetto is what you win when you win the Serie A. A league championship, so to speak. I don't know the actual meaning of the word, though. Juve just won the Scudetto, eh. Maybe it means "league"
  17. Would absolutely love it if Juve were demoted AND their 2 last Scudettos withdrawn I bet they couldnt tap Berlusconis phone as he has been the prime minister of Italy as well. Would be a bit unlikely. Now that he isn't though, there should be every reason to investigate his dodgy persona. Hopefully get rid of the shabby red team as well.
  18. I think you'd do well to find a Rovers fan who agrees with that presenter. As far as I know Nelsen is one of the most popular players at Rovers. "The Admiral" has been great since he arrived, and according to himself he is still finding his feet at this level.
  19. This thread should go into the FAQ section.
  20. Aye great end to a great season. Best points total since we won the league just goes to show what a fantastic achievement it is.
  21. Hehehe. Interesting stats though. I think we should look to consolidate our position in the league next season, only just beating our points total from this season.
  22. Good man. Waiting for the fixtures now so I can plan for the games.
  23. A nice representation of manure fc if you ask me! Love your pictures. Personally I blog photos.
