  1. A game that I thought would be a tame end of season affair was surprisingly good with some good passages of play by us and some excellent goals. We conceded a late goal again to give us a nervous finish but I'm always happy after a Rovers win. I put a bet for my granddaughter at the ground and she went for a Rovers 3-1 win. It was good watching her face every time we attacked when 2-1 up. In the final analysis of the season my overall feeling is disappointment after the position we were in going into February. I naively started to think we were going up - I should have known better. I think there are several reasons why but the main one was not bringing in somebody with the credentials to get us 8 - 10 goals which I believe would have been the difference. Anyway that's gone now and we can only dwell on what might have been as we look to the future.
  2. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/61354435 After UEFA criticised the proposed Super League with Ceferin quite rightly saying it was about greed they themselves are ripping genuine supporters off with extortionate ticket prices for the upcoming Champions League final. The head of the snake and all that.
  3. Today is the 10th anniversary of our relegation from the Premier League on that awful night against Wigan. The last decade has been, in my view pretty awful with very few highs and a multitude of lows. The lost fans, financial mismanagement, awful administrators, poor managers and players along with lots of other facets which none of us ever thought we would ever see. Step forward Venkys. Thanks for nothing.
  4. Somewhat surprisingly to me Birmingham are reporting the game is sold out. The new capacity is 19000.
  5. They have never appointed a CEO or similar of any quality. There is a theme here Rev and it's all their own doing.
  6. For anybody driving down the M6 is closed on the exit and entrance slip roads at junction 10. https://nationalhighways.co.uk/our-work/west-midlands/m6-junction-10-improvement/
  7. Hartlepool have sacked their manager Graeme Lee. It's only about fifteen miles from where Mowbray lives and he would have his work/life balance. Nothing would surprise me in football.
  8. Did you see the empirical evidence posted on here by Miller11 which proves beyond doubt we are a better side with Nyambe in the team? I want Rovers to have the best chances of winning every game and leaving Nyambe out diminishes that. Lenihan and Rothwell are in the same position but have played recently - I have to ask why.
  9. You're so wrong. Any employer worth their salt would have told Mowbray (irrespective of how he performs) what the situation would be with regard to their deal. It really shows these people up for what they are. All this innuendo about them and the future is bollocks, they aren't bothered about Rovers and if you think differently that's your prerogative but don't try and convince us that they are any different now to when they walked in the door. And as far as Rovers are concerned they are the 'idiots in Pune'.
  10. You seem to be falling for Mowbrays patter. Why weaken the team by playing an inferior player when he is fit, just working too hard. And playing our captain and arguably best centre half at right back further weakens us wouldn't you say? Why has Nyambe not been on the bench recently but Zeefuik has? He is only back from long term injury buts gets on the bench ahead of a fit Nyambe? Again who is the best right back at the club?
  11. He has been substituted several times this season and an inferior right back replaced him. I remember Mowbray dropping him for a game at Millwall because 'his numbers were high'. If I were a manager I would want every players numbers to be high. Mowbray has weakened the team by dropping/substituting Nyambe on numerous occasions, to me a case of cutting off his nose to spite his face. Who is the best right back at the club?
  12. After Mowbrays work/life balance interview last week, in which he was adamant he was going, I honestly can't see him doing a u-turn and staying. If the story is correct (throw enough darts and eventually you'll hit the bullseye) from Nixon and they did actually meet my guess it was that finally Mowbray has got the official word that his contract isn't being renewed.
  13. So Mowbray announces his departure and Nyambes agent opens talks again with the club about a new deal. Coincidence?
  14. I was told at the weekend that lots of Ewood staff have been invited for free as the uptake is embarrassingly low. As you say £75 for a three course meal is scandalous and another example of how he sees the fan's as cash cows.
  15. Well done Fulham on winning the Championship. The best team in it by a country mile.
  16. Mowbray is being linked with the Hibs job. In my view it's just lazy journalism as Kean has been listed as 25/1.
  17. I heard Neil Harris being interviewed on Saturday and he said the fact he will only has five contracted players for next season is a positive for him. He said he can build a new squad with players he wants and mould them into a team playing how he wants to. Of course the huge difference between that and our situation is that at the moment we don't have anybody in place to start this process. And my real fear, based on the last twelve years, is that we won't have anybody yet for a few weeks and miss out on vital planning time for next season
  18. And he is arguably our best centre half. Playing him at full back weakens us in two positions.
  19. It's strange because I was always under the impression that the coaching staffs contracts were aligned with the managers in terms of the length. Another anomaly from a dysfunctional place?
  20. Great analysis. I have long felt for some reasons it was personal with Mowbray.
  21. I agree and having just read the full transcript of his interview I have a degree of sympathy with him. Perhaps he will realise over the next few weeks that perhaps the owners are actually disingenuous and not all he thought they were. He did still Mark get a few 'good human beings' in though.
  22. He should have Tom! The referee didn't handle that particular situation too well. It appeared to me that VH was going to get a last warning message when a Bournemouth player ran in waving an imaginary card. The referee booked him but didn't isolate him to do so - he just waved it in the general direction where a few players were. In the confusion I'm not sure if VH actually got his warning.
  23. Didn't he say "the place needs exorcising' in one of his early interviews?
