There is no doubt he acquitted himself well and showed himself to be capable and able to cope with Championship football. I just think calling his performance excellent is extreme.

I thought Rankin-Costello had a decent game but saying he was excellent is extreme. None of our players were excellent. Had he been excellent I'm sure he would have played the whole match.

Supporters Consultation Meeting

I replied to your email last night. -
Not strictly Lancashire but it's good to see Barrow seven points clear with a game in hand in the National Conference. With a strong Rovers connection there getting promoted would be terrific for them and the area. Conversely Chorley are eleven points adrift.

Thanks. Will the agenda be issued in advance of the meeting and do questions here to be submitted in writing? -
I thought that in a pretty dire match we got away with a point which I would have taken at 3 pm. The swirling wind made things difficult as players from both teams continually over hit passes. For me Travis was our best player and his vision to see the give and go for his goal shows how he is developing an understanding of the game and his role. I hope Holtby isn't going to be out for long as he is one of our best technicians with the already absent Dack and Rothwell. From my vantage point he didn't look right after his first bout of treatment and I hope that sending him back on hasn't made it worse. I also saw Williams stripped and ready to come on. I thought it was going to be for Lenihan who appeared to be injured and not moving right after a challenge. Thankfully he stayed on. Points gained away from home like today can be valuable if we can win at home. That will be tested to the full next week against a really good Fulham team.

I wouldn't mind going if they aren't taken up. -
I have to say I haven't got a good feeling about this. Equally as worrying is the potential of injury to one of several key players which could see our season capitulate in a mirror image of last February.

January transfer window 2020

It's a message board where people's opinions differ but ultimately count for nothing. The point is that I don't believe Mowbray will blood some of these younger players. It's sink or swim time but Mowbray is still wearing arm bands. -

Fans on messageboard should influence things then? Mowbray is the only person who can control this situation. Many see the youngsters as a way forward - what's your suggestion? -

So would I but I have grave doubts that he will. And if he does it will only be when our season is confirmed. I watched the under 23's last Saturday and was mightily impressed with some of the younger group. Two French lads in particular caught my eye. In a nutshell it's the only way forward in my view but the manager has to come out of his 'safe' mode but, as I said I doubt he will. -

But surely if there were potential FFP issues the owners and Waggott would have pulled the plug financially and given him nothing. Something once again is massively amiss. -

In fairness I'm sure Mowbray said he had money left over from his transfer budget in two of the recent windows. They were comments I was scratching my head at. It is my belief that he operates with complete autonomy and his decisions are not questioned here or in India which is totally unhealthy for a professional football club. -

Funding the club to the tune of -£180m. And if we weren't here whose fault would it be? -

That's a gross exaggeration isn't it. Fisher has gone to MK Dons. ??? -

It's been outed now that your mate is the bus driver aka Reg Varney (hopefully clubs and media outlets who allegedly read this board don't see Varney and link us with Luke). -

I feel really sorry for Rich Sharp today. He has the lead story and headline on the LT website to essentially talk about nothing. Go for it Rich and throw a few red herrings in out of sheer boredom. -

We are looking at a Damps Quib who apparently we looked at last January. -

There is time yet ??. I will be happy to eat humble pie but I won't oscillate like so many on the back of a couple of wins. -
And for the last 10 games we are 6th, the last 8 games we are 9th and the last 6 games we are 10th.
-
Condolences on the passing of your wife Jack.
-
Delighted with the win, less so with the performance. I thought our passing was sloppy and we just invited pressure for the last twenty minutes which could well have cost us. I don't know if it's been mentioned but I thought we looked tired with three players cramping up towards the end. After four days away in Portugal and effectively a mid season break that was disappointing. We will just take the points and move on.

I didn't take it personally. Underpinning all of this debate is the reality that Mowbray will still be our manager come the start of next season.
