  1. Pickering's nowhere near that sort of level. Wharton could go on to big things imo. Hopefully with us.
  2. I hope the players aren't feeling as paranoid - I disagree entirely that events are conspiring against us. If one of our main rivals for automatic promotion (Bournemouth) playing like a bag of spanners is "events conspiring against us" then I'll have some of that! We've had a remarkable run with injuries really in the first half of the season, the success has been based on fielding the same eleven players game after game and that couldn't go on indefinitely. It's a shame that BB is missing for 2 games but really the Chile thing has been central to his transformation. It's even more of a shame that DM is injured but whilst the circumstances do seem extremely odd, injuries happen. What we do need is our recruitment department to stop picking fluff out of their naval for once and bring in the players we need in the positions we actually need them as opposed to simply waiting until the last minute and ringing round enquiring who is available on loan. Really our targets should all have been lined up and deals done in the first week of the window for me but hey ho. There's a lot still to be done, and we need results and deals got over the line not the usual hard luck stories after the event
  3. Sorry not having that at all. Absolute nonsense.
  4. Anyhow C'mon Rovers, chop chop, only ten days to go and ideally three additional bodies in needed. Striker, central midfield, back up keeper? Let's get the business done early and not be messing about in the last few hours of the window then miss out like in summer.
  5. Nyambe should be straight back in. Anything else would be lunacy. Ayala would have to wait until there are signs that any of the other three CB's who have done so well are struggling for me as well. And why on earth would you pick Gallagher after his horror show on Wednesday? He should never play for us again!
  6. There's zero chance of any of the top few Clubs selling a key player to each other I'd have thought, the only value a bid for Solanke would have would be to wind Bournemouth up and try to unsettle the player as they did with us when they publicised an alleged interest in Rothwell.
  7. Typically you need a certain number of goals to go up but I don't think it maters where they come from per se. Historically you always needed two 20 goal plus a season strikers to go up. These days not as many teams play with two out and out front men so it's more normal that the goals are spread around. All that said IF BB weighed in with a second half of the season like his first and scored 40 goals, we wouldn't need that many goals from elsewhere. It's fairly unrealistic to expect that however so it's likely other players will have to step up and chip in more.
  8. Think we need to take a deep breath and calm down a bit. I think it's unlikely we'll go up automatically but we have an 8 point gap on the seventh placed Club so if we can perform in half way reasonable fashion for the rest of the season we SHOULD make top 6. The last two or three games have shown how crucial Nyambe and Travis are to our success. We need to get those two back in, make two or three astute acquisitions in the right positions refocus and (I know it's a cliche) go again. We've lost one game. Now is not the time to panic, throw in the towel and indulge in a fire sale. If we lose a load of players for nothing in summer it might be a long time before we're in a position to even challenge for the play offs again.
  9. We definitely aren't if we sell BB.
  10. You're reliant in that scenario on other Clubs being willing to sell 3 class players at this time of year, us being able to persuade them to join, being able to get all the deals done within a very limited timescale and said players all fitting in well and hitting the ground running. Better recruitment departments than ours would struggle under those circumstances I think. Edit: Plus 3 wages are a lot more expensive than one!
  11. Why would you give up any chance of promotion for £28.5m ?
  12. Some clickbait site just recycling rumours to be found elsewhere on the Internet.
  13. Not a chance. Why would you do that?
  14. Doubt we were ever in for him.
  15. I may be wrong but my overall impression of VAR from the Premier League I'd that no-one really benefits from it overall because for the odd decision it gets right you've probably already had several more goals chalked off for the most trivial of infringements or the most marginal of offsides which otherwise would have gone unpunished.
  16. Wouldn't have said that was a red card personally, probably a pen but if it was the other way round I'd no doubt be arguing that BB should have been stronger and it was shoulder to shoulder. I'd be really annoyed if a red card were shown as well, he hadn't even set himself to take a shot.
  17. I didn't see it like that at all. If we get the penalty and their second is chalked off that still only makes it 1-1. And Hull missed a hatful of clear cut chances 2nd half. We were shocking and weren't even up for it first half. Yes, the officials made a couple of poor decisions but pretending we lost the game because of the officials is burying your head in the sand. Hopefully it was just a one off and a bad night at the office but many more performances like that and any promotion hopes will quickly disappear.
  18. Everything's pretty clear now for me. 1) If we're to have any chance of the play offs TM has to stick with what has worked well for us this season and not get too cute. If someone is missing replace like for like but otherwise keep changes to a minimum I.e. Davenport for Travis was all that was required tonight. 2) JRC , Johnson and Gallagher (especially) must never ever feature again. Then, we might have a chance.
  19. He must wonder what's happening when 25 stone Bradley Johnson waddles onto the pitch in front of him. Edit: Bet he can't wait to leave the Club.
  20. Nyambe will be straight back in Monday night hopefully.
  21. Doubt he'll be here next season so no reason why he shouldn't go for it, he's just a poor manager.
  22. Can't be crying like babies because a couple of decisions went against us, you have to make your own luck. What have we learned tonight 1) The players simply weren't up for the challenge first half. 2) The manager won't be able to resist tinkering with a winning formula he more or less stumbled on by accident to try and shoehorn Gallagher into the side at every possible opportunity. 3) JRC isn't up to the required standard. 4) Gallagher plumbed Paul Mckinnon type depths with his "performance" tonight. Wilder must have been locking his chops watching that tonight. Hesitate to say it was nice while it lasted but the last few games have felt a bit that way.
  23. Has to be much stronger than that. He needs to be cleaning the Hull players out.
  24. Thought Kaminsky was really poor for the goal tbh. Was never getting to the ball. Then makes a terrific save.
  25. Gallagher has to be one of the worst players ever to wear a Rovers shirt. Needs subbing at half time. Brereton isn't playing a lot better on the night either. He needs to start pulling his finger out as well. JRC is absolutely woeful. I wouldn't say he's even professional standard defensively. To think some people prefer him to the brilliant Nyambe. Need someone to get stuck in in midfield and the defence are being bullied by the limited Eaves who is putting himself about like Gallagher ought to. Too many passengers. Any hopes of automatic promotion won't last long playing like that.
