Mclaughlin's shite, been impressed with Atcheson 3-5-2 hasnt been working. We've lost two and drawn one with Cashin in the side, not our player, fuck him. Re Tyjon - need to try something different. Not sure if you've noticed but we haven't been scoring any goals. In general need to shake it up and do something different. Absolutely no point carrying on doing the same things Ismael was. However it's only my opinion Im sure we'll actually see a more conservative line up like Tricky's. Doesn't really matter as long as we get the 3 points.

It should though depending on the calibre of whoever is available permanently. (Assuming Johnson can steady the ship) I dont know if they were rushed into selecting Ismael by the result in Lowe's 3rd game - I tend to believe they happened across someone who was "aligned" - but if they were panicked into it, look how badly that turned out.

Thanks both, should be Hedges plus one other obviously. I'd go for either Pickering or Ribeiro. Wouldn't be averse to leaving another out if we thought there were any decent free agents we could land.

Nyambe was brilliant when he was here as the RB in a back four, his career fell off a cliff after he left here and he was briefly without a Club but there's no reason to suggest he couldn't have continued in the same vein had he stayed. Saw him on TV playing for Derby as the wing back on the right of a 3-5-2. That doesnt suit him either.

Devil's advocate mode: Lowe was only in charge for 3 games before they secured a permanent replacement. Problem was, he was one of the worst we've ever had.

Realistically Id say Johnson is going to be in charge for the next two games and we should be looking to make a permanent appointment before the game on the 14th. If however Johnson got 4-6 points and the option was (say) Chris Coleman, would you be busting a gut to appoint him just because he was "permanent"?

Not permanently. Might until the end of the season on big wages plus his usual massive bonus for staying up. (Despite him saying on Uber Eats(?) "He's done enough". Irrelevant as we probably wouldn't pay.

It would do IF (and Im not suggesting he will) he won six on the bounce. He needs to be judged on a game by game basis for the rest of the season. If he loses the next two or three then obviously we would need to make a permanent appointment very quickly. If he did win six on the bounce, what are you going to do, replace him? The only exception to that would be if someone absolutely exceptional became available in the meantime who you didnt think you had any chance of getting. Whilst I dont think we're quite in Chris Coleman territory, not sure that will happen either given our current standing in the game. If Johnson does ok and well enough to keep us up I can't see the problem in him retaining it until the end ofcthe season to give us more time to find the best possible permanent candidate. The indications are he doesnt want it permanently anyway.

If you're somehow sneakily trying to blame the fans for Ismael's demise forget it. Unless you're appointing someone like Klopp, Guardiola or Dalglish in his prime, you're never going to get complete agreement. It's up to the manager to win round any detractors with results.

Think it's fair to say that he was no-one's first choice but nevertheless everyone was willing to give him a chance when he arrived. Unfortunately that goodwill dissipated almost immediately when he managed 1 point out of 18 from a team that had previously been competing for the play offs.

How so? Has he ever kicked a ball or managed professionally? (He may well have but Id never heard of him before he rocked up here) If the answer is he's been a "technical director" or "Head of" here there and everywhere that means less than nothing to me.

I doubt there's anything in the Coleman link as unattractive as we may feel we are. Hopefully just the usual red herrings being tossed about early in the betting market to relieve mug punters of some cash.

From a tactical point of view, If they've known they were thinking of getting rid of VI for a few days, they should have potted him before Saturday's game against Hull and got Johnson in for that one as well. The Hull game would have been a free hit for Johnson, no-one would have really expected us to win it and if he could have got 4 points from the two games, everyone would have considered that a really decent return and he could have kicked on with some confidence. Now, although Im far from convinced we'd have won tonight's game under Ismael, Johnson is under massive pressure, winning is probably the last realistic chance of survival and if if he does manage it, he'll get absolutely zero credit for it as its Wednesday. Hope he's really bold and changes it round substantially tonight. Change formation, put Tyjon/Joseph in, whatever. Just get them playing like they're enjoying it for once, get a decent amount of efforts on target (on the opposition goal, not our own) and the rest will hopefully take care of itself.

Saying someone is a "sentimental" choice is saying they're a bad choice which is clouded by sentiment so effectively they're agreeing with you. BTW your pre season prediction we'd finish above Derby and "greedy" Eustace is looking worse by the week.
