Expectations were at an all time low but Mowbray managed 2 defeats over Easter to somehow lower them further. Fully expecting a disjointed performance and loss. I couldn't decide if he will dangle the carrot of hope in this game or the next one but thinking about it, I suspect we won't pick up another point this season. With the amount of players leaving or going back to their clubs, the majority will be in full self protection mode. If Mowbray is also off, he has no motivation to do anything other than sit there with his arms folded. Countdown is on. 3 to go.

That's quite some turn around and equally some collapse by us. As has been mentioned by a few on here, we only really needed to maintain some average form to stay in the playoffs but hitting rock bottom of the form table over the last 15 games is an almost remarkable effort on our part.

Pretty much nails it for me as well. The only things you can be sure of is, nothing will happen quickly, Venkys won't be proactively dealing with the situation and we will waste a load of much needed time, no matter what happens.

I have no doubts Gavlar, in fact, I expect it to work out like that. There is literally no value in doing it though. Just pay him what they would pay him anyway after the last game of the season and wave him off.

We'll know in a couple of weeks just how much the club is looking to move forward as the owners will have to resolve the managerial/coaching situation one way or another. My expectations are astonishingly low with that regard. No stories after saying "they were set too appoint Farke but Pasha opted for Phil Brown instead", they either make a sensible, decent appointment for a change or we can assume that it's as you were in Venky HQ.

They'll cash in BBD if the opportunity arrives, absolutely no doubts. They've lost out on any transfer fee for 3 of our players and BBD is probably the only big sale we have In the squad left. Problem of course is that he's now in his last year and has us over a barrel, so clubs will be circling for a bargain and we will be screwed over on price. Mowbray has already been saying to the press that Gallagher could pick up the goalscoring mantel next season.

And I appreciate it when they post the inside info that they have but, and it's with no disrespect to those posters but for one reason or another, they aren't always correct. I'd love it if they have finally looked further afield other than HSH, and only time will tell but history tells us that Venkys will just do as they always have and appoint another average/poor manager.

Well that's depressing. So we can basically expect another HSH reject as our next manager. If that's the case, my interest in Rovers next season might just wane significantly.

They were just rumours though, and nothing came of them. The only evidence you can point to is who Venkys have appointed in the past. The last 3, all coming from the same agency. Every manager they've appointed so far, being average/poor.

Chaddy, I'd love nothing more than Farke to come here, he would be a dream appointment. But you've been following Rovers for a long, long time now and you know as well as I do that Venkys will not appoint a manager like Farke. In 12 years, the closest they came was appointing Lambert, who at the time, had a high stock but in typical Venky fashion, it fell apart quickly. Looks at this list: Kean Berg Appleton Bowyer Coyle Mowbray Lambert aside, that's the list of managerial appointments they've made. All shite, (Bowyer wasn't terrible tbf but the wheels came off eventually) they never go for the best. They go for the cheapest and it's reflected season after season with just another poor season that ends with nothing to play for. I wouldn't take a single person off that list back if offered. I wouldn't even let Kean back in the country if it was up to me.

Here we are, just 1 league below them, wondering how we are going to be able to bring in 8-10 players for half a curly wurly and a packet of love hearts, whilst City can go and spend £63m on one of the most coveted players without batting an eyelid. Shrugs all round from the EFL & PL.
