  1. Yep, Jackson reckons we're basically planning for life without Batth and Weimann now. Talks not ended but seems highly unlikely for both now. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25231529.blackburn-rovers-contract-latest-impasse-continues/
  2. What positions was it that RG said we were looking at? Thought RW and CM were in there, assuming RB was as well?
  3. Unless it's silly money, purely out of spite, I could see us just flat out rejecting any bids made by Derby whilst JE is there.
  4. De Neve certainly feels like a signing that's going to take a reasonable amount of time getting up to speed at Rovers. He'll have to improve his physicality and his technique by all accounts. Ohashi came in last summer and his technique was some way off but it improved over the course of the season, it's still not quite there but it improved a lot. That took a whole season though.
  5. He says in his first interview he needs to work on his duels, so you might be right on the physical side there.
  6. Couldn't tell you tbh. He might be good, he might be crap. In the grand scheme of football, it's a cheap transfer fee really but for Rovers, it's probably 75% of our budget
  7. Which jumped to Β£22m, and then to Β£25m in those interviews a few months back.
  8. Yep, it's already starting. The blame now lies with Batth for "demanding" a 2 year contract. And again, spot on with dropping in another name to make things seem busy. No doubts those talks would "stall" as they have for that other defender we were in "advanced talks" with. I have no doubts that Waggott will have shown Suhail the ropes when it comes to feeding lines out to Nixon.
  9. Cheers. I assume an appeal process would be at absolute piss taking levels of time, so this would likely drag on for years? If they appeal it, would that still keep the blocker in place for funding the club? Or would that be removed regardless?
  10. Assuming they give them, say x3 financial penalty (or any other punishment), is that the end of the court case completely?
  11. Exactly that. Putting the blame onto the player via the media is a tactic I'm sure they already use.
  12. Yep, this is how I believe they operate as well. Keep players on less money for as long as possible. Then offer them a new deal on similar terms, if they sign it, then great. If not, try and shift them out or let them walk for free at the end of the deal. If they need to source a replacement, it's a player on less than the outgoing one or at best, same terms. It's all about cost cutting, nothing more.
  13. The fact that there isn't even a contract offer on the table for Trav, Tronstad or Hyam tells you everything you need to know about the clubs intentions. More than likely hoping to offload all 3 and replace with a cheaper alternative from some relegated Belgium 2nd division team
  14. He didn't promise anything, he just said "I always win something in my second season" Of course it's different to Wigan, they had been battling against relegation for a few seasons, there was no expectation for Wigan to do anything different other than battle relegation from the league. Spurs are expected to fight on all fronts as they've heavily backed their manager. Of course they won't swap it but the cup win doesn't make Ange a great manager when the evidence of a 17th placed premier league finish with less than 40 points on the board is sat there as evidence to the contrary. I don't think it suits yours either, Wigan didn't prioritise the cup over the league, they won the cup and tried to stay in the league as well. Wigan only made 2 changes for the FA cup final vs the game before it, one was a player returning from injury. Anyway, I'm done banging my head against a brick wall on this.
  15. Yes, they want him to stay now but they were calling for his head for the majority of the season. Wigan is a different situation entirely, as they weren't expecting to be battling it out at the top of the Premier League. Of course they would take a trophy and relegation because it was the only chance of winning a trophy for a long time and they would be battling relegation anyway. Spurs are supposedly a big club, so the media constantly tells us, and so should be battling it out at the top and winning trophies. The bigger picture is, that he looks to be a poor manager despite the trophy win. They've backed him with good money and he's delivered a much needed trophy for the club but taking everything into account, the performances in the Premier League were horrific and it's been a huge factor in his dismissal. Would he have written the league off again from day 1 in order to try and win a trophy in a cup competition? Why bother with a season ticket when you know the manager isn't giving it any serious consideration? Incidentally, had he not beaten the worst Man Utd team for 30 years and was sacked, no one would be batting an eyelid about his dismissal.
  16. Did he promise to have the lowest points per game ratio of any of the last 5 Spurs managers, despite being the 3rd highest net spenders in the league for the last 2 seasons? Or that they'd be a defensive shambles, conceding the 2nd highest amount of goals for any team outside the bottom 3? Ultimately, Spurs have been dismal in the league all season, his excuse of giving up on the league doesn't wash because they were poor from the off. It's just a weak excuse to cover his failings in the League. Most of the season Spurs fans have been calling for his head. If all he wants is to win trophies in tournament football, he'd probably be better suited to International management. He's a poor Premier League manager, obviously the Spurs board/chairman are looking at the bigger picture and not just focusing on the trophy win as a reason to keep him on again. Their Premier League campaign was embarrassing. Like Ten Hag at Utd, the Trophy win just papers over the cracks.
  17. At what point did he give up on the league? Was it the 1 win in 10 between December and January? or the 1 win in 12 between Feb and May? Or the incredibly patchy form after the first 13 games? Its just a terrible excuse from him. I'd be a pretty unhappy Spurs fan knowing I've shelled out very good money for a season ticket, only for the manager to give up with the league in December.
  18. Ppfffttt.. not even advanced talks? Rudy's probably only just found him on Champ Man.
  19. Spurs won just 11 premier league games this season. They didn't even make it to 40 points! Absolutely a sackable offence for a team that is supposed to be pushing for the top 4 and beyond. Yes, he won a cup (and a bloody good one) but he couldn't have asked for better opponents in the final, the worst Man Utd team for many a year.
  20. And already we've been in "advanced talks" with a player who's looking likely to move to Sunderland for a fee we were never getting to, our Captain is being linked with a move to fucking Wrexham, Brittain has been "close" to signing a new deal which still hasnt happened, Batth and Weimann are considering moves to Derby and the consistent issue of money and the owners court case hampering the club has already raised it's head, again.
